  1. TBS is playing The Wizard of OZ this afternoon and I'm not sure how they did it but they made an 84 year old movie look great even on a 65" HD TV. Not sure what they did to remaster the film but it's impressive - I had no idea they'd be able to take a movie that old and make it look good on modern technology - kudos to all those behind the scenes people in the industry who give us such things!
  2. My twins are off to college soon so I was able to get some things they'll need - mini fridge, microwave, some fans, some power strips. Saved a few bucks on each - all told saved probably about $150 over non-Prime Day prices. Prime Day is good if you need something but not a particular something - i.e. - a fan. If you don't need a specific brand or model you can find something that's a decent deal. If you need something specific there's a good chance it's not even on sale. Prime Days are also great for Amazon devices and certain brands that put a number of their products in sale (i.e. - JBL had like 25% off a lot of their speakers and sound bars). Hit and miss depending on what you are looking for.
  3. Never made a judgment about what he should do - I know he's cleared to play and has made his own decision. That said, given his history it would not be shocking at all to see him call it quits if he got another concussion - I just can't see that Mitch is going to elect to play through multiple further concussions. Team needs to be ready if/when he gets to that point.
  4. Not saying we should cut him, but certainly lots of questions here and the team needs to have a plan in case he takes another blow to the head. If that plan is to make a move now so be it - wouldn't totally shock me if the Bills made some sort of move if there's an opportunity but I can also see Mitch playing as well.
  5. I like Mitch and don't think he'd be cut for performance reasons - not an all-pro but decent enough to start here. I just worry about his health - he could be one concussion away from retirement and I'd hate for that to happen. Part if me was a little surprised he's playing this year - really thought he might hang it up after last season.
  6. Been here since the beginning on day one - in fact I might have even played a role in that.... Let's see - almost everything changed - married, kids, met some fellow Bills fans I am still good friends with to this day. I barely remember what things were like back in 98 except that the Internet was a lot uglier and Hyper Bills on the Rochester D&C site fell into chaos and was ***** down, leaving many homeless until Two Bills Drive started a chat...
  7. If you print out text and still images from a website and staple them all together so you can read them like a book you'll have something that approximates a magazine. Remember - it will have no audio or embedded video and links won't work, so it'll be pretty lame...
  8. That was the bobblehead - this year its the realistic action figure type...
  9. I was buying my wife a birthday card today and they were putting up the display of Hallmark's 2023 Christmas ornaments. Their NFL keepsake series will have Josh Allen this year! I really don't know much about Hallmark ornaments other than that some are collectible and thus sell out - I guess its a big deal when they are released on July 15. Anyway, the Josh ornament looks pretty cool - if you don't want to run down to your local Hallmark store on July 15 it looks like you'll be able to order it online. I have no idea if/how fast such an item will sellout, but here's the link if you want to be ready July 15th... https://www.hallmark.com/ornaments/keepsake-ornaments/nfl-buffalo-bills-josh-allen-football-legends-ornament-2299QXR8247.html
  10. Its painfully obvious that they need to appoint a VP of Buffalo Statues to make sure those are done correctly and are big enough - this whole project fails if those are screwed up 😄
  11. The CBS story said that the submersible was not certified by any body (i.e. - USCG). I'm guessing there was no insurance and everyone aboard signed a substantial waiver before boarding.
  12. Onboard we have 5 people - a British billionaire, one of the wealthiest men in Pakistan and his son, the CEO of the submarine tour company and a French naval explorer - not exactly regular people who mortgaged houses to take a $250K jaunt to the Titanic. As much as they want to say trips like this (and into space) are open to the public, they're really open to the super wealthy and those that are invited. Seems like at most of these people could contribute to the cost of their rescue if it happens (and I hope it does)... The damn thing was run on an off the shelf game controller! Hope they brought extra batteries for it!
  13. Yep - exactly right Shana.. I'm not hoping for a bad outcome and I'm not saying anyone deserves this, but there are risks... What I'm saying is that if there are extraordinary measures taken (i.e. - Navy ships and subs) perhaps a billionaire who is rescued should pony up a little money to offset the taxpayer. I get that the USCG is not a business and should render aid to those in trouble - just seems like there should be a limit (just like some hikers that have to be rescued by helicopters - sometime they have to pay feels associated with their rescue). .
  14. This is a terrible situation and I pray that it doesn't have a terrible outcome. That said, I hope that (especially if thongs work out successfully) money can be recovered for the effort of the USCG and US and Canadian navies. Spending what is probably millions of dollars to assist a for profit company catering to uber-wealthy clients tics me off - you do risky things you should accept those risks and be prepared to pay up if you get in over your head and need very costly help.
  15. There's a reason I choose to get my Bills info from local reporters rather than anyone else - they have the connections to players and the organization to report on such things where others do not. If the news involves some sort of front office or transactional info (trades, contracts, etc,) I'll trust a large national reporter (Peter King, Shefter, etc.). I honestly don't care what a random Boston Globe reporter says about the Bills. There are lots of good sportswriters working for local outlets around the country (I.e. - Mary Kay Cabot for the Browns) and I'd trust them for info on their local teams, but not the Bills. I do agree that one weak story becomes a story because everyone references it but that is happening across the media spectrum, not just sports - it is concerning.
  16. Rob Johnson was going to be the man - well worth what we gave Jacksonville for him Willis McGahee was going to be a game changer at RB Should have drafted Blaine Gabbert Tom Donahoe was going to bring grea6ness to the organization John McCargo was worth moving up for in the draft Josh Allen was going to be a bust - great measurables who can't be coached to actually be good
  17. We're all going to have a great laugh when we realize this whole thing was caused by Diggs hearing the Taco Bell bell bong sound and dropping everything to get a cravings box...
  18. New supergroup with Greg from Dillinger Escape plan on vocals. and members of (Buffalo's own!) Everytime I Die and Fit for an Autopsy - Better Lovers with their first released track 30 Under 13 - a serious banger....
  19. Good reasons for optimism. On the pessimism side I'd add that we are going to have a new MLB which is the quarterback of the defense. Say what you will about Tremaine Edmunds but he's a loss until someone proves they can play in that spot as good or better. Also, competition in the AFC east has gotten better. People have differing opinions about Tua, but I think he's a very good QB when healthy and Miami has the receiving corps - if he's healthy I expect Miami to be tougher this year than last. The Jets got a good QB and if he has anything left and can get something out of the receivers they'll be improved - they also get Hall back at RB. Even the Pats may be better tan last season if they are rid of the disfunction at the offensive coordinator position. Buffalo split with the Jets and Miami last season and the win over Miami was 3 points.
  20. Glad YOU'RE OK - stuff is scary and seems like there are plenty of things that are not life threatening, but it just shows how you have keep tabs on what's up and sound the alarm immediately if something isn't right.
  21. OK, not exactly the type of LAMP I want to make, but I feel this is important. Gentlemen, do your shower self-checks for testicular lumps/abnormalities. This is something I have not been good at remembering. This week I found a lump - a huge lump and it was scary as s%¡+. Immediately called my primary care doctor and they gave me an appointment the next day. Doc asked all kinds of questions including how long since I noticed the issue. I felt absolutely awful that my lack of checking could have allowed a serious issue grow until it was a major growth. Got an ultrasound at the hospital the next day (not painful at all) and within hours got the report that it was a cyst and not anything scarier like a tumor or unknown mass - WHEW! A couple of anxious days and restless nights and now I'm all about reminding guys to be diligent - we're usually not so great at self care but you don't want a situation like this. The women in your life probably do their self checks - we need to follow suit.
  22. Week 9 at Cincy. Just like they did with Tre, he'll be practicing and no reports of setbacks but for over a month we'll be wondering why he's not playing and what's going on...
  23. Shorter. My guess is we'll have a near continuous stream of reports about how good he looks at practice/camp and then we'll never see him in the regular season. Seems like we frequently have a WR like this and Shorter is it this year.
  24. Loved how he kept complaining about "All this runnin' makin' my feet tired" in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka - great movie...
  25. I'm amazed at how LITTLE Josh is commercialized. I live outside of WNY and only see him on Gillette commercials and used to see him on a Lays commercial (I haven't seen that ad in ages - I don't think that campaign is currently running). For a superstar of the most watched league in the country I'd think I'd actually see a lot more of Josh than I do (although Mahomes is everywhere).
