  1. The anti-Cook crew here should go join his comment section.
  2. No one is Barkley, and he isnt asking for Barkley money. Folks need to stop bringing his name up. The better comparison, and in range with his ask, is Henry and Jonathan Taylor. Both are in that $14-15M range. Henry is old and Taylor is often injured. Cook is absolutely in their range. Bills fans are just devaluing their own, and not remembering his play last year.
  3. Angrier than ever it seems! Because now they are angry and proven wrong. I think at this point it would have to be 3/$45M that isnt really $45M. And what are we debating here? $5M spread over 3 years, with a cap that keeps increasing by $25M/yr thanks to streaming. Git r dun, Beane.
  4. I lived it. It can be cold and grey from October through May. 8 months. And either way, 6 months is still way too long.
  5. Oh, that easy? I think Cook's agent would slam the phone down on your ear at that offer.
  6. Sure, all those things play into it. Look at the Godwin report from this morning. Why Chris Godwin spurned Patriots' $30 million offer, signed for less money with Buccaneers https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/why-chris-godwin-spurned-patriots-30-million-offer-signed-for-less-money-with-buccaneers/ "One opinion mattered to Godwin — his wife Mariah's," Pompei reports in an extensive article. " They went over the possibilities and concluded they would take less, much less, to stay in Tampa." I moved away from the north almost 20 years ago, and it would take a TON more money to get me to move back to those 8-month winters.
  7. As much as I'd love to have Cook around for a few more year, I think this ship has sailed. I think it's as simple as Cook's market number is much higher than what Beane is willing to pay. And that's a fair take on both sides. I dont think Beane will come up to $15M/yr now or this season. So Cook will hit the market and get his money there. Unless we tag him as a makeshift "5th year option". I think a "team friendly" deal for Cook right now is at about $14M/yr. Nothing less than that is getting done. IMO.
  8. Sure. We'll be fine without anyone as long as we have Josh. But Cook has been the biggest help to Josh since we got Diggs. Gives us a real threat in the running game that teams must respect, and last year, took the short yardage burden off Josh (when the coaches were smart enough to use him). And when most of the fanbase is screaming at the FO to get Josh more help, I never understood why we'd also want to let Cook go (or trade him away). We're definitely more optimized for a SB with him than without him. Agreed. As for camp, I assumed he'd be at anything mandatory.
  9. More dramatic than my daughter and her friends.
  10. Not surprised. It's in his best interests to show up and show out this year. Plus, nothing he's done has indicated being as unhappy as even Hendrickson or Watt.
  11. For real. So much hate and vitriol over nothing. It's so weird to me.
  12. I'm generally very anti-Tag because I think it creates more problems than it solves since players hate it, and it's often used almost as a punishment and trump cards for teams to handcuff players. However, with Cook (and high talent 2nd rounders in general), I can see it being used as equivalent to a 5th year option that teams get on 1st round picks. And therefore I'm less against it. If push come to shove and Beane decides to use the tag, I hope it's presented that way.
  13. Taking horrible advice from his troublesome brother. NOT the way to go about getting a new contract. And he posted on social media about it too! NOT a Process guy. Wait... is this another Cook thread?...
  14. Love your posts, but disagree with a lot of this perception and I think you are conflating situations to fit this narrative. What you're basically saying here is that if Cook had not posted the comment "15 mill year" and showed up to OTAs, he'd be signed for his desired amount. I dont think Beane was going up to $14M-$15M in any situation this offseason. But Beane DID offer him an extension of some kind. Beane was willing to pay him, it was just lower than Cook wants. To the opposite point, Edmunds didnt get paid, Singletary didnt get paid, Moss got traded, they were all "good soldiers". But the talent wasnt there to even get an extension offer. Benford, Rousseau, Bernard, and Shakir all got extensions this offseason because they have the talent AND were willing to accept team-friendly deals. Not because they showed up to OTAs and didnt post on social media. And for Benford, Bernard, and Shakir, they were all mid-late round picks so these low-dollar extensions are even more enticing for them. And outside of Diggs, who Beane had just handed a big new contract (even being known as a loud-mouth), I cant think of anyone else who tantrumed their way off the team. And even then, he still got paid. TWICE! So I dont buy what this post is selling. I think it's much more the situation that both Poyer and Hyde faced in their negotiations and unhappiness with their contracts: Beane has values placed on all positions, and he will only spend so much on certain positions. He has proven they do not place a high amount on Safety, and he's proving they have a similar low value amount on RB. And both Poyer and Hyde were good soldiers who showed up and did their jobs, but were never happy with their contracts, and never got paid.
  15. That, and if it's true that our OL is so good they "make the RB" then why do we need an RB to stay in and help this supposed amazing OL? Cook should be popping out of the backfield and making himself another option/target for Josh.
  16. With all, ALL, due respect... that number is crazy delusional. He's never been at $11M. Our chance to sign Cook in the $12M-$14M range was this offseason. His number is only going up, and is probably a minimum $15M right now after Henry's new deal. I dont buy the rumors that he is looking for $20M, but as we move to next offseason with more RBs up for re-signing and resetting the market, he'll be at a $15M-$17M range at the very least.
  17. Is there any chance Rodgers learned something from having survived the ***** show of a team that would give him all the power and now he's fine with just showing up, shutting up, playing and getting paid? Even if he didnt, maybe he's more likely to fall in line for an established coach like Tomlin over a coach like Saleh? I still think Rodgers is cooked, but I'm not convinced it will be a coaching issue that does him in. I guess we'll see. One thing I know for sure, it was way more fun watching him fail on a division rival.
  18. LOL, there is 0% chance the Commanders trade him. It's just another example of a player skipping team activities in order to apply leverage on his contract negotiations.
  19. And of course, my all time favorite from last year. Their last game as Jets... I dont even mind that it was against the Dolphins since they are just as feeble. This is some much-watch stuff. Volume on.
  20. I, too, have informed the Steelers I plan to sign a contract with them and show up at their practice.
  21. Another "cancerous malcontent"?
  22. Doubt he ever goes back to California. He'll be back in Florida next (and I assume he already has another house down there)
  23. Yeah, Josh was absolutely putting in a ton of work in the offseasons his first few seasons. Recreating himself as a passer from scratch, basically.
