  1. My sympathy. Losing your Dad is a very difficult thing to get through.
  2. Some opinions, please. Let's say this is all about 2005, not a wild idea given the patience level of TSW. Suppose THE TRADE is made and either (1) Dennis Green is right about Shelton, or (2) he goes down with a season-ending injury. What do we have? No improvement in the offensive line and a RB who may cost more and is not as young or talented as TH. We could easily be worse off than if THE TRADE never occurs. Let's say we trade and Shelton is a slight upgrade (over Teague) at LT. We still have suffered a downgrade at back-up running back, a pretty important position, given the likelihood of injury for starting RB's. (Anyone know what percentage of starting RB's make it through a season without being sidelined?) Call it a wash. Either way, I will not be upset if the Shelton trade, with or without a trade in picks, never occurs. OK, tell me what I am missing here (I know you will).
  3. Nice, fair analysis. Another way to state it is that Henry would make a first-rate back-up runner for a playoff bound team with a very talented starter who may not yet be at 100% following a catastrophic injury. Gee, maybe we can sign him to a cheap one-year contract! Oh yea, he is already on the roster!
  4. I must agree. Despite her great looks and public persona, Diana was one very troubled lady. Maybe Charles has come to recognise the importance of intelligence, companionship and emotional stability, even if it is in a less than beautiful package. Don't forget too, Camilla is, what, 12 years older than Diana would be today! Most pictures of Diana were taken when she was in her 20s. How would she have looked at 58, given her lifestyle (bulemia, suicide attempts, etc.)?
  5. "Ron Mexico. have you ever been in a plane before? Ron, have you ever been in a Turkish prison? Ron, have you ever seen a grown man naked?"
  6. Didn't they used to date the Smith brothers - Art, Bart, Mart, and Fargo?
  7. Dick Nibbler Harry Shorthose and that Asian gentleman, Won Hung Lo
  8. Hey, they were probably abused or neglected as children. Doesn't that give them a lifetime free pass? So what if that definition applies to 40% of Americans, most of whom are decent, law-abiding people. Where is your compassion?
  9. I'm just as bored as we all are right now. That was my point. No need to go on the attack.
  10. Sure hope we get some football news to discuss soon. This stuff is just too exciting for me.
  11. Good news, all around. We may not need to draft or sign another TE and can use our limited resources elsewhere (like CB).
  12. Over-rated. Character problems. Will back up Teague, if we get him. (I hope we don't.) :huh Over-rated. Character problems. Will back up Teague at LT, if we get him . (I hope we don't.)
  13. Thank you for injecting a bit of rationality into this discussion. Travis is not without his flaws, we all know that, but let's get serious. How many RB's in the NFL have two consecutive seasons like he had while running behind a line like we had. Then he got hurt -so? Give him some credit. He is gifted and a gutsy guy; not some POS. If he goes to the Cards, what is the likelihood we can sign anyone better (or as good) for '05 for his salary?
  14. Have to agree. Henry is a better than average RB with a proven record. Don't give him away, TD. We could end up with the best back-up RB in the NFL - not a bad situation with WM, who no one can guarantee (like any RB) that he can make it through the season unhurt. This is not Pucillo we are talking about here. He is valuable, for trade-bait or back up.
  15. A very useful analysis from someone who seems to "know whereof he speaks." This is why I joined the TSW. It sure beats "Travis sucks" or "JP is a Hall of Famer" threads and similar BS based on who knows what. Thanks!
  16. Well, don't expect the guy who started this thread to post again anytime soon! Way to smoke him! Fortunately, he is the only one on the Wall who ever came up with a less than brilliant idea.
  17. For those who can afford the medication, like Magic and many others in this country, HIV is no longer a death sentence. It is, essentially, a chronic health problem that can be kept under control and may never progress into full-blown AIDS. However, there is still not a cure. Don't be too hard on Magic. He also heads up the Magic Johnson Foundation which provides generous funding for progams for underpriveleged kids. Overall, not a bad guy - just one who suffered from the "kid in a candy store" syndrome. Pretty common among stars - he was just unlucky.
  18. Yes, we already have one. However, he is the best back-up RB we can have and still stay within the Cap. I still believe that Travis WILL be back this year, and we will be thankful.
  19. I've lived in the South for over 30 years, and I KNOW I go back for the food. My Southern wife was an instant convert and can't wait to go again. We'd both weigh 50 pounds more if we ever moved back, however.
  20. Continue to use it, but wear it backwards. Do the same for 22 and 33.
  21. We sampled several on our visit to Buffalo last Summer. Surprisingly, we agreed that the best one was the one we had while grocery shopping at Wegman's! Just baked roll! Schwabl's was a favorite many years ago when I lived there - I'm happy to know it is still around. We also liked the Eagle House in Williamsville for beef on weck.
  22. Isn't the real issue (the one that matters) between Losman and Brady? Can we wish Drew best of luck and let him be gone? We have a division to win here, right?
