  1. Just curious. A bit of humble pie. Where are all of those posters who thought we should trade up or do whatever else was necessary to draft this arrogant, self-impressed thug? There were many of you. Will you admit to it? Would you trade him now for JP or a certain second year wide receiver on the Bills'roster? Perhaps, character is an element that needs to be figured into the equation.
  2. Yes, we are all into wishful thinking at this point. In fact, JP has done NOTHING in a game situation to merit these accolades. Not saying he won't, but in fact the "little jerk" Flutie has a winning record, and JP has nothing at this point. Let's wait and see. I HOPE you are right, but it's far too early to know.
  3. Actually, I thought it was a pretty good article that provided a reasonable perspective on what we can expect. We'd like more (and hope for it), but a dose of reality may be in order now and th en.
  4. Prediction. Gandy will start 3 games (while JP runs for his life) and then will be replaced by Peters. Gandy will not get any better; Peters will.
  5. He might have a future there. However, I heard that if he doesn't make it in the NFL he plans to enter medical school to become a proctologist.
  6. We were expecting our daughter's live-in boyfriend to finally buy her a ring, but he just bought a boat instead. What should we name it? What should we call him?
  7. Thanks for a (second) voice of reason in this bizarre thread. I do think, however, that your criticism of DB in 2003 might be a little unfair. Look at his supporting cast for much of the year - a weak, poorly coached line, a banged up Henry, Moulds at half speed, and his two best healthy receivers named Shaw and Reed. I'm not sure how anyone could have done much with that group. Probably, last year was more typical of what he is capable of - more, but not quite enough to take us to the next level.
  8. He is a super talent. Saw him again last year along with Billy Joel. As good as Joel was, Elton was far better.
  9. "A two year deal"? Is that unusual for a UDFA?
  10. Yes, according to the Myrtle Beach paper. (He's from Conway.) It can be accessed through Two Bills Drive.
  11. I've watched him for four years at South Carolina. He is quick and strong, and could be the pass rusher we need. A good signing.
  12. A bigger slower, straight ahead runner with fumble problems! Please don't trade Travis yet!
  13. Thinking purely of the 2005 season, I fail to see how Gates would be an improvement over Henry, or Shaud, for that matter.
  14. What an image! You are assuming, of course, that all three are capable of FINDING the bus!
  15. I know, let's limit the Wall to only "established and respected" posters, i.e., those who have 5000 or more posts! If only we had done that five years ago! No, wait, maybe that wouldn't have worked. While I must agree with the sentiments of the guru who started this thread, referring to other members as "idiots" from the outset maybe wasn't the best way to lead it off. It was pretty certain to set the tone for what followed. Here's to a successful Day Two (that is bound to leave 75% unhappy).
  16. Noooooo! Miller is a thug, like most players from South Carolina and Clemson. We can do better.
  17. He may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he (1) likes paychecks and (2) needs to increase his marketability for 2006. He will show and play hard.
  18. Relax. We have the best back-up RB in the league, a starter on most teams. Just in case WM gets injured or is not the real deal, we will be OK.
  19. Human bowling ball = Charlie Tolar (Houston Oilers). Only about 5' 7"
  20. Whoops, meant to agree with you. It doesn't make sense. They have their eye on someone else.
  21. Some good points here. Corners don't get the glory very often, but they quietly win games (often with what they don't allow to happen rather than what they exhibit). Have you ever known a Super Bowl champion who DIDN'T have pretty good ones? Our DEs and CBs are good enough. However, somewhat off topic, I really think a first rate place kicker who can give us good field position on kickoffs and can make the long one's consistently under pressure is worth more than either that superstar DE or corner. Nugent? How many games are won or lost by the kicker?!
