  1. I don't see Hyatt as a first round wr. Johnson is boom or bust, but I think he could be DK Metcalf. I don't equate him with Hodgins who is a big slot. Our TE2s have been an afterthought. I'm considering a scenario where Dorsey would make 12 personnel more of a staple. Kincaid, Mayer, Washington, and LaPorta are the top four at the position with differing skill sets. Kincaid has the most dangerous offensive potential, imo, but he's not a blocker. Washington is a monster blocker, but limited to a RZ offensive threat. I think TE is one of the stronger talent positions in a weak draft, so I personally hope we grab one of these guys.
  2. Yes, I was really just adverting to the response that is typically given when folks mention the inequity. While true, it is still annoying. The bitter irony was meant to be in the last part which is that somehow the way the algorithm works, we seem to be penalized for winning the division, with the further bitter thought that if the Chiefs were terrible or we had no chance to plausibly compete for the SB, we then would also not seemingly have to play them every year at Arrowhead. Mechanical, impersonal, yet there is still the sting of cosmic malice . . .
  3. I'm writing all this down. I hate to commit an etiquette breach on truly important matters.
  4. The Bills in the 1991 Super Bowl were overconfident after rolling the Raiders 51 - 3. There might have been a bit of ego last year early on when we were dominating, but I don't think it perdured throughout the season. By the end, the cumulative toll of unprecedented crises and injury was too much. (Also, more than Frazier, I think some first year issues with Dorsey were a problem that increased tensions over the course of the year.)
  5. And someone will patiently explain that it's just an algorithm used by the league and nothing personal. All we have to do is stop winning our division. As soon as we are not good enough to compete for the Super Bowl, we won't have to play them at Arrowhead.
  6. Just past 10 am here and I wish I was at the pub.
  7. Folks won't like positional value, but I am open to this as well. I sure as hell would rather go this direction than MLB at 27. I also wouldn't rule out Kincaid and Mayer in the first, though if you want blocking help for the OL, Washington is your fella. I do think there are a handful of wrs that Beane should pick at 27 if they are available. Still think they are hardwired to go D, but we'll see.
  8. I think it is unlikely, but I don't agree with you here. The contract is the largest sticking point. I suspect Hopkins gets traded closer to the actual draft. Either it happens then or maybe teams see where they are after the draft and reassess, but I would think the Cardinals want draft capital for this year.
  9. Interesting.
  10. I truly hope this is correct. I also don't think it is ridiculous to think Spector might be a real consideration to replace Edmunds.
  11. Just reported that OBJ apparently signed with the Ravens. I understand your point. Trade back might be best if you can find a partner with a decent return. What I am saying is I would still be inclined to do something like Hyatt and Matthew Bergeron and still skip MLB in the second. I really like Darnell Washington in the second, because as I am now going to annoyingly repeat from other posts, he adds a powerful blocker that aids the oline, a RZ threat, and credible 12 personnel play calls.
  12. Sorry, old friend. I'm not on the MLB train, even for Jack Campbell. I'll understand if we have to stop talking now.
  13. I am very unhappy with you. Very.
  14. They compound that bad pick if it forces them to take a MLB at 27, imo. I am not as high on Campbell as some here appear to be. Maybe I'm wrong. If that's the direction they go, I'll think them mistaken and shall be rather irate, but I'll still hope that they are right and I am wrong. I believe they should sign a veteran free agent. If they want to take a swing on a mid-round lb to add to the mix, have at it. I would invest the early picks in oline and weapons for Josh. I think that is where the league is. McDermott is a D coach, let him coach up and work with the best we can give him within the parameters of using this year to first build a fortress around Josh and add to his weapons. If they hypothetically trade back from 27 and pick up an early second and a late third, I would still be inclined to draft OT and WR or TE2 in the second because that is where I think value and team needs on the side of the ball that ought to be emphasized best match up.
  15. Kincaid is a fella I've been interested in for a while. In a weak Wr class, I think you look outside the box for playmakers and he is one of them. I am surmising the quality of Oline available at 27 will not be appreciably better than what you can probably get at 59. If you exclude playmakers, I'd love to get a solid OT with some positional versatility and Darnell Washington, a tremendous blocking TE that would make 12 personnel a valid option should Dorsey prove up to OC.
  16. You have created a plausible narrative. I just don't like the story. I tend to agree with New Era and in this case I would rather choose from the pool of available veteran free agents for a stop gap solution over drafting a lb high. I would use day one and two assets for different positions. If one focuses on what one expects Beane and McDermott to prioritize, I believe there is some chance your scenario is correct which does not make me happy.
  17. If it requires trading up from 27 to achieve the answer, the FO has massively messed up.
  18. I sometimes wonder if imbecility is contagious. If it is, I wonder if the distance of the virtual world is in any manner prophylactic. I say this because I suspect Einstein's dog, who is generally pretty astute, has been drinking from our Einstein's water bottle. Then again, watch this regime trade up for Jack Campbell.
  19. Yes, but if you look upthread, @HOUSE properly recognized that they drive cheap cars and tip poorly. Shortly thereafter, however, the conclusion to these melancholy reflections is happily determined. I won't spoil it for you, but Buffalo Bills fans have shown an intuitive awareness that the joy of the game is more radically founded upon something less mercurial than the frangible and imperfect character of players.
  20. This is true, and yet I like it when folks agree with me and don't when they don't. I've also noticed that folks that agree with me are invariably quite intelligent . . .
  21. Their propensity is to slow walk rookies. I believe Addison will be clearly one of those ready out of the box wide receivers, so I would hope McDermott would see past his natural instincts and play the kid. And really, those who are clamoring to fill the MLB spot with an early pick must expect a rookie to play in that situation so I surmise the possibility of someone at a different position getting a shot ought to be rendered at least somewhat plausible.
  22. Age doesn't always equate to wisdom, but traditionally it was respected. Nestor in Homer can be a little prolix, but no one ignores his thoughts. Still voted for Addison. It's not a great draft and I think he starts ahead of Davis. He will get consistently open because of his superior route running. We need that kind of improvement and he doesn't stress the cap the way adding someone like Hopkins would.
  23. Don't know the fella. He comes up in mock draft simulators when I am down to my last pick.
  24. I think he means Jake Bobo, UCLA wr. Must be good looking which is Sherlock's number one criteria in a player.
  25. First of all, Google Gorn and tell me there aren't lizard people. Also, there was an old show, V, where these attractive people were really space aliens and actually lizard people. Where is all this coming from if there aren't lizard people? Zay Jones, realist.
