  1. I don't know, but the reasoning here is right. I think it's more likely than not and it's the right thing to do.
  2. You are presuming McGovern is a wasted investment. A number of longtime posters on this board who know personnel believe he has genuine upside and is at least a competent guard. Despite the fact that you are GreggTX with I surmise some awareness of the Cowboys' roster, I'm going to give more credence to their opinions, especially as they do not exhibit a consistent penchant to opt for the negative. Sherfield should be both a ST contributor and someone who could provide legitimate WR3 contributions. If Harty can stay healthy, he provides a home run threat. They might not work out, but they are not utterly worthless signings to be dismissed out-of-hand. Ideally, you find a way to get a more dangerous WR2, draft at least one early round ol addition, and then add a TE2 who can both block and catch. None of that is impossible.
  3. Wisdom is matched to particular circumstances. When things change, so does the best choice of action.
  4. You're not the adult in the room, fella. Everyone knows the Bills are operating with a limited budget. Do you think Beane is going to publicly show everyone all his cards? Candor of that kind and poker/football GM don't mix. If an opportunity arises to improve the team, he'll look into it. We're not dealing with a cash strapped owner like the Raiders. There are licit ways to work the cap to allow player acquisition, especially if your owner is willing to pay out cash to convert salaries to upfront cash. And fans enjoy the prospect of getting difference maker playmakers. It adds excitement and a measure of anticipation to life which can be very hard filled with sadness and strife. So if you think it is all foolish non-sense, just keep it to yourself for at worst, it's an entirely harmless foolishness.
  5. I'm sure you're right. Going to go check and make sure my Get Off My Lawn sign is not askew. I'd yell at the clouds, but it's too dark to see.
  6. Well, I dunno, maybe wait until the trade is done to post that sort of thing? But I'm old. I'm sure my ethical sensibility is outdated.
  7. If he ends up coming here, that is all fun. If it's just messing with a fan base, that's not so nice.
  8. Yeah, I sorta buy that story. Guess we'll see. It's going to be disappointing now if they don't add a splash wr, more than frustrating if we stand pat and the Chiefs end up with Hopkins and/or OBJ. They're not paying anything close to a one for Hopkins if it happens at all.
  9. I'm just guessing there might be fire to the smoke surrounding Ed Oliver. If you take his cap money and distribute it on offense, it becomes more feasible. I also think they may be rethinking the D a bit. Add in two 1 tech space eater DTs -- you can get those later in the draft.
  10. We're obviously not going to improve the oline with a high priced FA olineman. It's McGovern and maybe another relatively modest addition might shake out. I hope we spend at least one early round pick to bolster the oline. I am not satisfied what we have done so far is enough. All that said, rookie contracts don't preclude adding an expensive weapon. Personally, I am good with both.
  11. I don't want him coming over for dinner. I want him to catch the ball.
  12. Any updates on the Pegula plane?
  13. I like the Ojomo fella. I remember seeing a few Longhorn games and he stood out, plus on the pff mock simulator, you can always get him way past his projected value
  14. I'm waiting for the reboot of The Odd Couple starring Royale with Cheese and 4merper4mer. It's going to be a dramedy where every episode will end in a cliffhanger. Will they ever agree or possibly the series ends when one of them explodes or knocks off the other?
  15. Really strange how that happens. It's undeniably true. Note: traditionally, the term is scapegoat. I don't know if the neologism is intended, but escape goat is rather witty. The critical act of the fan as both escapism and vicarious scourging of the selected victim.
  16. He's a better player than McKenzie, but I have a similar feeling for both. I like their personalities. They sometimes make really good plays, but not enough. In Oliver's case, there's the added dimension of the high draft pick never quite materializing.
  17. Yes, impossible, but if it happened, you have to take him. I personally want Kincaid who they have taken right in front of us. Given my penchant for pessimism, I'm going to surmise the Jalen Carter part is wildly offbase, but the Kincaid part is true.
  18. They will draft one. I would not presume it will be an early pick. The trolls are out painting the most dire scenarios. I predict two of the first three rounds are devoted to offense.
  19. I've been using the pff mock simulator as heuristic for what might happen. Then yesterday I tried one by the pro football network and got entirely different scenarios with widely differing pools of players available at various points in the draft. I've no idea, but the pff mock is much less accommodating to my wishes, therefore given the nature of reality I have discovered in nearly six decades, I assume it is more genuinely predictive. I'd be really surprised if Johnston fell that far.
  20. A great stylist. She shows the art of singing is much more than the sort of bravura performances that gain applause on American Idol and the like.
  21. 27. Peter Skoronski OT Northwestern 59. Dalton Kincaid TE Utah 91. Daiyan Henley LB Washington State 130. Jaquelin Roy DT LSU 137. Olusegun Oluwatimi OC Michigan 205. DeMarcco Hellams S Alabama
  22. I do think you have to try and stop them, but I agree the game is heavily tilted towards the offense and I have been advocating for a significant investment in the offense this off season, even if that means taking a hit on D. We miss out on the advantages of having an offensive minded HC, let's see McD coach up a team that doesn't require most of the top picks going to feed his side of the ball. If they don't use an early round pick on the Oline, I don't think they are acting with sufficient prudence to protect Josh Allen. I also think a day one or two pick at TE should be considered because if you add a quality TE along with Knox, you can properly deploy 12 personnel which introduces much more uncertainty for the opposing D.
  23. At least it wasn't the Peter Pan fella.
  24. I don't think a Diggs replacement is in this draft, nor do I think a potential LT is likely there when we are picking. But of course, maybe there is. I'm not an expert, I'm only reading the evaluations of others.
