  4. Thanks Pete. I'll give it a listen.... and share it with my friends who are into Rap as an intro. to The White Stripes.
  5. I have been buying the Pro Football Weekly Draft Guide for over 20 years. I have found them to be among the best sources for draft information. Pro Football Weekly's current evaluation of Locker: 1. Jake Locker, Washington (Jr.) 6-3e, 220e, 4.45e Not all evaluators like Locker's lofty stature, considering he has battled injuries throughout his career. And not all are sure he has broken his habit of running at the first flash of coverage. However, since head coach Steve Sarkisian arrived on campus, Locker has settled down, begun to trust his instincts more in the pocket and honed his accuracy. He is so gifted athletically that he could play four positions, including free safety, receiver or running back. His competitiveness, toughness, leadership, arm strength and athletic ability all suggest he could be the draft's most coveted talent. Thus, they support McShay's evaluation of Locker.
  6. I agree with McShay on this one. Locker is a possible franchise QB and easily could have been a top 5 selection in this years draft. Who was on the committee? The same people who told JaMarcus Russell to turn pro? Locker has it all. A big arm, mobility, toughness and solid leadership ability.
  7. I like your call on Millions. It has become a favorite of both the adults and kids in my extended family. It is a movie we have watched at past family gatherings (and will watch again), everyone is entertained. In other words it is a classic.
  8. Quote from Carson Palmer before the season started: (From ESPN) "He's a great kid with a great heart," quarterback Carson Palmer said as training camp started. "He's changed his life around. He ran into some trouble, made some bad decisions, and realized that. He's sorry for them, apologized for them, and has done everything he can to make himself a better person. I'm just proud of him." RIP Chris Henry
  9. Rotoworld: Report: Mangini likely out if Holmgren is in Citing "numerous league executives," NFL.com's Jason La Canfora reports that the Browns' potential hiring of Mike Holmgren to run football operations would spell the end for coach Eric Mangini's one-year Cleveland stint. Holmgren is reportedly "very interested" in the position and would likely take the organization in a "new direction," hiring a coach from the same Bill Walsh/West Coast offense tree he came from. The Browns are 2-11 through 13 games under Mangini. Coaching targets for Holmgren may include Jon Gruden, Steve Mariucci, Jim Zorn, Dick Jauron, and Marty Mornhinweg. Dec. 16 - 9:59 pm et LMFAO!!
  10. Richie Incognito-G-Bills Dec. 16 - 5:16 pm et Bills claimed OL Richie Incognito off waivers from the Rams. It's doubtful that a new home will cure Incognito's mental problems, but he's talented enough to take a flier on. When healthy, he was the Rams' best run-blocking interior lineman (as little as that's saying). The Bills will have the option of retaining him in 2010 with a restricted free agent tender. 12. What do you like about Brian Schottenheimer?
  13. Nolan Nawrocki from Pro Football Weekly did not "misremember" anything-he posted his analysis the day of the 2007 draft. Pro Football Weekly "had" strong ties to the Bills at the time. The owners of PFW(who are Chicago based) are personal friends of both Levy and Jauron. Nawrocki was leaked this information the day of the draft.
  14. Some Darrelle Revis info. Here is a sampling of who Revis has covered this year and the results: Week 1. Andre Johnson 4 catches 35 yards receiving Week 2. Randy Moss 4 catches 24 yards receiving Week 4. Marques Colston 2 catches 33 yards receiving Week 11. Randy Moss 5 catches 34 yards receiving (one TD) Week 12 Steve Smith 1 catch 5 yards receiving Week 13 TO 3 catches 31 yards receiving You state: "IMO Revis is as overrated as they come" Overrated????? I think not. Revis has developed into a one of the top cover corners, if not the top cover corner in the NFL. The facts are, the Bills DID need another CB in the 2007 draft and Revis has turned into a big time difference maker. The other fact is that when an old, bumbling, ill-informed owner makes the final decision on draft picks for an organization you end up with a franchise that sucks.
  15. The Bills actually NEEDED a CB at the time. Having the best CB in the NFL on your roster isn't a bad thing. Obviously, if we had taken Revis we would not have taken McKelvin the following year. I didn't bring up this story to rewrite history, more than anything it's just an example of how a meddlesome owner can block the progress of his team.
  16. In the 2007 draft it was reported at the time that the Bills selection came down to either Darrelle Revis or Marshawn Lynch. The player personnel staff wanted Revis, Ralph wanted Lynch. Here is a the analysis that Nolan Nawrocki wrote in Pro Football Weekly the day of the draft in 2007: 12. Buffalo — RB Marshawn Lynch, California This was an owner’s decision, and like most decisions where owners get involved, a bad one, in my opinion. Lynch is talented, no doubt, but he comes from an inner-city background, much like Willis McGahee, and will struggle to fit into the culture established in Buffalo.
  17. Report: Bears reached out to Bill Cowher According to 670 The Score in Chicago, the Bears recently reached out to CBS analyst Bill Cowher to gauge his interest in the team's head-coaching job should Lovie Smith be fired. The Score's Hub Arkush claims his source for the report is "impeccable," despite the Bears' denials. Cowher has previously stated that he would not speak to any teams until the season is over, but perhaps made an exception here. According to Profootballtalk.com, there are "rumors" that Cowher is interested in working for either the Bears or Texans. Nov. 30 - 2:34 pm et Source: 670 The Score Chicago If the Bears fire Lovie, expect the Bears job to garner the interest of all of the top candidates. If Cowher ends up not being interested, I wouldn't be surprised if Shanahan is next on their list. Shanahan is from the Chicago area, went to college in Illinois and have Shanny's boy Cutler already in place at QB.
  18. In November 2008, Chris Mortensen reported that Fassel sent a handwritten letter to Al Davis expressing his respect and admiration for him and his desire to coach the Oakland Raiders. LINK Wouldn't committing such an insufferable act disqualify the Bills from considering him?
  19. You left off your list the two top QB's that might be available IMHO. 1. Jake Locker 2. Ryan Mallett
  20. I'll start out by saying that I'm a Tim Tebow fan, and hope that he is able to prove his doubters wrong by carving out a career in the NFL at QB. I think the varying opinion regarding Tebow's NFL upside, highlights the difference in the way coaches and football fans look at prospects and the way personnel men or general managers do. In recent weeks, Jon Gruden and Tony Dungy have come out clearly that they are huge Tebow fans and expect him to have much success in the NFL. Now Kelly chimes in with support for picking Tebow to be the franchise player for the Bills. From what I have read, those that actually evaluate talent for NFL teams grade Tebow much lower as an NFL prospect. This tension, difference of opinion, highlights why it's important to have the benefit of having a balanced viewpoint between your GM and your Head Coach and why, oh so few, have been able handle both positions successfully. Tebow's unquestioned leadership skills will have little value to a team if he is unable to be a play maker in the NFL. In the NFL, ones leadership skills or credibility are very much related to your ability to make a difference on the field. In a few years, i'll look forward to looking back on this debate to see who had it right. Best of luck to Tim Tebow, as he will bring character and honor to any path he chooses in life.
  21. I was a Big Brother through Big Brothers/Big Sisters twice. Both were years I was in college. It really isn't much of a time commitment and doesn't take much effort. There are so many kids out there that are desperate for attention, role-models and guidance. People often mistakingly think they have to wow their little big/brother big/sister with fancy activities(spending cash) From personal experience -I can tell you my little brothers were just as happy to play catch, take the car to the hand car- wash, sledding, hang out with my college buddies, etc. than doing activities where I had to spend money(hey- I was in college and was broke) So yes, I can tell you that being a big brother/sister was worth it and I feel the agency provided guidance and support. I have spent most of my adult life working with emotionally disturbed, behavior disordered, abused kids, gang kids, etc. So the time I spent with my 2 little brothers is a distant memory, as I have now worked with well over 1,000 kids. I had long ago lost contact with my little brothers, as it is only a one year commitment and in the years after college I have moved between several cities. Well, just last week, one of my little brothers sent me a friend request on Facebook. I accepted and called him at the number he left. We had a great conversation, he was able to name like every outing we went on and was extremely thankful to me for my time and friendship at a time in his life when he badly needed it. It was one of the most powerful, meaningful conversations I have ever had with another human being. He ended the conversation by saying "I love you." I was a bit stunned, it felt a bit awkward, but it might give you an indication of the impact of spending a few hours, every other week for a year with a kid can mean. I would tell your wife, take the leap, become a big sister, because these words are not just corny, they are true: One hundred years from now, it will not matter What kind of car I drove or what kind of clothes I wore. All that will matter is that I made a difference In the life of a child.
  22. So it's better to go 7-9, than it is to make the playoffs, advance in the playoffs and then lose in the Super Bowl? Sorry, that is such a loser mentality. Your doom and gloom is depressing.
  23. Ralph's been a shrewd businessman his whole life, can't see him putting all of his cards on the table before he even meets with Shanahan. Not that it's not possible, just way out of character.
  24. I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. As was Stefanie, taken much to soon. The videotape is worth watching at a time you find appropriate. I shed a few tears watching it, but more than than anything it left me in awe of Stefanie's courage, and her ability to shine a light on those who needed strength. What a beautiful, beautiful person. In regards to the loss of your much loved cousin Randy- When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
