  1. Absolutely. If there is one thing the Bills have proven it's that continuing to devote our best resources to the cornerback position results in win after win. .
  2. I suggest that you offer options in your poll in terms of how much to give up for him.
  3. Sorry, I forgot about all the games he has won for us. Your blind advocacy for first round picks such as Losman and Whitner is commendable in some ways, or so one would think. I for one would rather see the Bills win football games than to use big time resources on a player who might be "good" at some point. That said, Spiller turned out to be a very good player. But again, I am hoping for some wins.
  4. Gilmore looks like he can be pretty good. Very early in the game, he turned around and ran backwards just before the snap. Henne put it in the spot that he left for a first down. Plays such as this are not the fault of this kid. The defensive system is obviously quite flawed. And btw, you should have added Losman to the list above. And remember, teams need wins, not top 10 picks who are ok, such as Whitner. He was one of the worst draft selections I have ever seen, considering who was left when those 2 clowns selected him.
  5. It's just that wins for us are so rare, they bring a certain amount of joy. He was OK. Too many penalties.
  6. 1) Watching the game, I noticed nothing from Dareus. Seriously, in our goal line stand with 4 minutes left in the 1st half, Spencer Johnson was in there, not Marcel. He does not show up at all in terms of tackles, assists, or sacks on NFL.com. I don't know what to read into this? Was he hurt? 2) I have gone against the grain on this board wrt the wildcat, but I for one continue to like it big time. Getting the ball to Brad Smith is generally a good thing. He makes plays and first downs when given the opportunity. I like him on returns as well, and imo, he is an important contributor to this football team. 3) Easley? Where did he come from? Not only did he have a good return, but he made an important tackle on special teams right before the half. Plays such as these mean something, and it's nice to get production from someone that most of us had probably written off. I know I wrote him off a long time ago. 4) Stevie was just magnificent on that TD reception. He faked the defender out of his shoes, and was WIDE open! Again, Stevie is as good at getting open as anybody we have had in here in a long time. Imo, he compares to Welker, and this is quite the compliment. I hope that he is not injured. 5) My girlfriend (a Giant Fan) told me today that if she was prone to depression, she would want to be a Bills fan. And btw, she is totally supportive of the Bills week after week. She likes us. That said, I don't think that she fully gets it wrt being a Bills fan. How could she? Today, we are all ecstatic in some form whether we admit it or not. This after beating a terrible team. But we are loyal to the core, and cling to hope. 6) When I was just a little young boy, Papa said "Son, you'll never get far, I'll tell you the reason, if you want to know, 'cause child of mine, there isn't really very, far to go" Well baby, baby wants a gold diamond ring, Wants it more than most, any old thing. Well when I get those jelly roll blues, Why I'd go, and get, Anything in this world for you. 7) It was great to see Mario once again make a spectacular play. His numbers are there at this point, for those who care (and we all really do). He didn't get much help from KW or MD, but he brought pressure. It was very cool to see. 8) Carrington had the game of his life. 1.5 sacks, a blocked pass, and some clutch tackles. He earned his paycheck today, and it was a pleasure to watch him do so. 9) Simon, (or anybody), please help me out. You played defensive back. Please tell me why the Bills DBs always seem to have their backs to the ball. Why? It causes completions, and big time penalties. Is this what their coaches are telling them to do? Wtf is going on? 10) That TD run by Spiller was off the charts great. Glenn and Levitre just completely wiped out the left side. 11) I hope that Graham keeps improving. The son of a B word is fast!!! And, I want to send him kudos for clutching the football as well. McKelvin, Spiller and FJ have been doing this too. As much as we all (and with good reason) blast our coaching staff, I am goint to credit and praise them for stressing that the players hold onto the football and avoid fumbles. 12) Aside from his very ugly pick in the early second quarter, Fitz was OK today. At this point, I'll take OK from him. 13) Congrats to the Bills for winning a game. And big time congrats to us, loyal Bills fans who really do deserve victories! 14) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Yes I have, and I am thinking that he goes in the late first round, or early econd. This, as you know, is early for a RT. Obviously, he's a kid. One with a GREAT work ethic. Did you see him screaming at the offense, and what they did after that? Willie Anderson, Erik Williams and Bob Brown beg to differ. You seem to watch blackers as much as me. Passing league or not, their will always be a place for a beast RT. Especially in Buffalo, where we play many games in the elements. The combines will be interesting. The bench press numbers matter quite a bit for OTs imo. Bell was/is agile, but he did 9 reps. That turned out to be all we needed to know. If this kid has Glenn type numbers, he will be dngerous for many years. And btw, he probably isn't the best blocker on the team. They are stacked on that OL in a way that I for one have never seen. You are wrong BB. If they think he will be a star qb they should draft him, and I will support the pick. If they take a corner in the first round, it will be devastating for this franchise. Absolutely devastating.
  8. He's better than LandtyJones, who will never be as good as Fitz.
  9. 1) DJ Fluker has a chance to be one of the best RTs in the history of the game. 2) The kid who was the qb for TCU in the 2nd half is a whole lot better than Landry Jones. Wtf is this kid, and what year is he in? Disclaimer.....rating qbs is not exactly my forte. I thought Rob Johnson would be great. 3) TJ Yeldon, if he stays healthy, will be the best running back in the NFL. He is a mix of Peterson and Dickerson. 4) ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. 100% correct. If Leodis had any vision, let alone a brain, he might have been the best return man ever. He is just SOOO fast, and does have moves. To his big time credit, he now clutches te football. As a corner, he was worthy of a 4th or 5th round pick. He was drafted at #11 buy the idiotic, loser duo of Levy/Jauron. No surprise there. The thing to watch now is whether or not Nix is stupid enough to draft another 1st round corner. Sadly, no amount of stupidity would really shock me at this point.
  11. Will the game be on Directv? Sorry, I don't understand this thread.
  12. And I will help you load it. If they draft another defensive back in the first round, I am going, for the first time ever, to have to re-evaluate how much I have invested in this team. It hurts to even type this.
  13. You know, you and I have disagreed at times over the years. Btw, I am fine with this. I love the exchange of opinions and ideas. That said, it does feel good to b on the same page wrt this issue. As you well know, I would be the very first one to blast this OL. It's what I watch the most when I watch games. Replays matter to me becuse I miss many plays trying to pick up on what is happening up front. Now, let's break it down, shall we? Let's go position by position and ask ourselves when we were doing better at each OL position: LT: For a couple of years, Jason Peters was better than Glenn, who is a ROOKIE, and a 2nd round LT to boot. Jennings was good, not great. Glenn looks like a great selection and top prospect. And he works very hard in terms of his effort on the field. LG: A case could be made that Rubn Brown was better than Levitre. If so, not by much imo. Have we had a decent LG between Brown and Levitre? Of course not. OC: Wood concerned me wrt his injuries, but he is playing better than anyone since Hull. Remember Fowler, and the other horror shows? RG: This is a position at which we were particularly bad for years on end..The last good RG I can remember was Vilarial, and he sucked after a half of a season due to injuries. And this was in what, 2002? Urbik and Rinehart are both better than what we had at this position for a very long time. RT Again who wasn't awful other than Jason Peters, or Jennings when he played that side? Now we have Pears, who I think is VEY good on running plays, and Hairston, who did look good, but not lately. Yes, this line is the best one we have had in many, many years. When the qb is throwing picks and forcing the team to play from behind, it ain't easy to block. Especially with no deep threat from the qb or at wideout. Then, there were the games in which we gave up huge points. Fitz is not capable of too many quick stikes nor comeback wins. Remember too, they scored 65 combined points in the losses to NE and Tenn. And as you said, Spiller is running all over the place. Short yardage third downs? As good as Spiller is, he is NOT a short yrdage back. Fred has been banged up all year. Choice gained some yards but Chan doesn't use him much. Nope, the OL is no longer an issue. AT LAST!!!
  14. We both had high hopes for Nix because he is an actual football man unlike Brandon, and he is really far more alert if you will than was Levy. And as bad as Chan turned out to be, he isn't less lost than Jauron, who was, imo, one of the worst coaches in NFL history. And, Jauron had a huge say in our drafts, which were always awful when he was there. And "awful" is being kind. It really is a very sad situation. In 2011, you liked Dalton, I liked Mallett, other posters liked Kaepernick. Nix, in a very Jauronesque move, picked a defensive back who sucked with the 2nd selection in round 2. And remember, he claimed to have, "multiple trade down offers in every round." Message board posters really have no place out-drafting NFL GMs. For the Bills, this is old news. John, I would like to make one more point.....even when players who are drafted are, "good," it really doesn't mean s**t unless the team wins football games. Spiller turned out to be very good. Maybe Gilmore will be very good some day too. But we aren't winning. What IS bad is to pay big money to qbs who suck, and to tie up too much cap space in the secondary. If you don't believe me, ask a Jet fan. .
  15. A lb also dropped a pick that Fitz put in his hands. He is not going to win us games.
  16. 1) I have been praising the OL for weeks. Well, Glenn looked good today, but Hairston was awful. Really awful. Pears would have made a difference. 2) Would someone please tell me how Fitz missed a wide open Spiller on the sideline on the play in the 1st quarter when Indy was offsides? He had all the time in the world, and a pick would not have mattered. Seriously, how could a professional qb miss on that play, with nothing to lose? 3) Dareus was awful in most of the first half. Then, it looked like someone lit a firecracker under his a$$. He became dominant in the second half. I don't understand this. 4) Answer to #2: The same way he missed a wide open Jones in the beginning of the second quarter. And the same way he threw another game ending pick. It's time for TJ or Thigpen. Fitz is a nice guy but he is not a capable starting quarterback in this league, nor will he ever be. It's a done deal folks. 5) Why the f%$k did Gailey call for short, stupid passes at the end the first half? This from their own 8 yard line. I know.....because he is not a capable clock manager, or for that matter, head coach. It cost us a 3, and we were lucky they didn't get a TD. Just sheer incompetence. 6) See here how everything, lead up to this day. And it's just like every other day that's, ever been. Sun...... goin' up and then, the sun, it goin' down. Shine.... through my window, And my friends they come, around. 7) Big time kudos to Mario Williams. Sacks, tackles, and a blocked pass. I was SO proud to have him on the Bills today. And btw, I thought that he (and Kyle Williams) were held on virtually every play today, but wtf do I know? 8) Advice to posters/lukers: If you disagree with Simon, more often than not you will be wrong. He tried to tell us that Kyle Moore wasn't all that. Remember? Well, on 3rd and long, with 3 minutes left in the game, a TE wiped him out on a single block. He was a non-factor today, and we obviously needed him. 9) Barnett played his worst game as a Buffalo Bill today. Sheppard is a waste of human flesh. He is absolutely terrible, and I hope that he does not wear a Bills uniform next season. He never makes plays. Not ever. In essence, we have zero linebackers. 10) Gilmore otoh, had his best game as a Buffalo Bill today. He was decent. That's right, decent. He stripped the ball. That was very nice. Fine, thanks. But he was miles away from his receiver on 3rd and 11 in the first quarter, and let's not forget the crucial 4th quarter penalty. Maybe I expect too much from the 10th pick in the draft. It's certainly possible. 11) It was a non factor I suppose, but the kicking game affected me. When Vinatieri kicks off, I am all but sure he is going to kick it out of, or deep into the end zone. When he tries a 3, I concede that it's going to be good. When Lindell kicks off, or tries a field goal, I feel as if I need a blood pressure pill. This is another page that should be turned after the season. But once again, maybe it's me. 12) Thanks to CJ Spiller for keeping us in the game. 13) OK, our playoff hopes are officially over. Now, we will win games. You KNOW I'm right too. We will win games starting now and get a worse draft position. Hey, this team is an absolute mess, but they are ours. 14) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I am not at all offended by the OP. We all have our own coping mechanisms. This is his. In the past, it was a bit easier to figure out the problems on this team. Now, RW spent $130,000,000 on DEs, and their play has been ok at best. Our much maligned qb loses even when he puts up points. After all, we scored a combined 65 points in the losses to Tenn. and NE. This game is particularly stressful, because there are tons of reasons for us to win. Our (supposedly) loaded front 4 against rookie, playing behind a so-so offensive line would point to a win. Wouldn't it? The Colts defense doesn't frighten anyone. One would think that with our OL, we should be able to run all over them. Right? But as Bills fans, we just hold our breath, and are not surprised by disasters. The thing is, I REALLY want a victory here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Any list that does not include Andy Levitre is bogus. Andy makes the same $615.00 in 2012. He isn't far from being the best guard in the NFL. SJB could be describing Levitre in his post above. He doesn't pancake too many people, but he does it all. He has good technique on running plays, and left tackle feet and balance on passing downs, in a passing league. And, he has proven to be both versatile and durable. Any money spent on him would be well spent, and it will be hard to keep him. They can slap the inexpensive franchis tag on Btrd. No problem. But guards get lumped in with OTs, so the tag would be very costly wrt Levitre. I know it ain't my money, but if it was, I would offer him a 40 plus million dollar contract for 6 years, to include a 15 or 20 million dollar signing bonus before he hits free agency. He is not far from being the best player on this team, and probably IS the most reliable.
  19. I think that a bit of patience is in order. Whitner, in one of the most stupid moves I have ever seen, was drafted at #8. Levy turned down "multiple trade offers" to select him. Then, he held out. When he arrived in town, he had a domestic incident. He made a fortune, was a big mouth, and was so-so at best. He only looks ok now because of who is in front of him. Imo, Bills fans are entitled to be a bit hostile toward Whitner. That said, I hope it didn't hurt so much when he was tasered.
  20. I'm with you. And I rarely if ever predict wins, but I am feeling one this week. The DL looked better, the Colts were riding on emotion (the head coach is sick), their team isn't good, and their very good qb is a ROOKIE, There is every opportunity for a win. So, I'm thinking that we will win this, and other games, and then blow an opportunity and not make the playoffs. Then, we will look towards the draft. We will do research, watch bowl games, youtube, etc. And, in April we will draft a db in the first round. Or no later than the 2nd. Btw, if I sound bitter, I don't mean too. Frustrated? Yes. I used to get much more angry. Now, I roll with it much more. But I will never give up. Never. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Imo, we need NE to win. They are going to make the playoffs. Period. For the Bills to have a glimmer of hope, they need the Jets and other marginal teams to lose.
  22. Imo a move like this is more possible than many would believe. It would cost more than a 1st round pick. Perhaps 2, but it would instantly sell thousands of tickets. Now, would Rivers help in terms of football games? My guess is that he would be likely to win us 1 more game per season. MAYBE 2. But let the buyer beware. SD would not offer him to us unless there were problems imo. He disrespects his coach on national tv, and who knows if his skills are declining? Really, is any team shopping a very good qb since the rule chnges? Is Houston going to trade Schaub for 1st round picks? While we are at it, would Bellichick trade Mallett if he is in game shape and mentally fit? I suspect not. So, imho, Nix would have to ask himself what would win more games.....Rivers or 2 first round picks, ticket sales notwithstanding. But again, I wouldn't quickly discount the possibility of a deal like this simply because of the business aspect. Jmo.
  23. Today's Moment of Faith: Message in a bottle found by Plattsburgh woman: Go Yankees I hope that we can gather up some karma and beat the Colts. I don't want to hex us, but I think we can win. These kids deserve it, and so do we. PS: I didn't write this. My daughter found it for me. I struggle enough with my , "thoughts." LOL GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
