Harrison Butker…oy vey…what a commencement “speech”
Bill from NYC replied to eball's topic in Off the Wall
Do you recognize any limits to acceptance? For instance: I have no ill will at all toward transexuals. Now, do I want them to use bathrooms with my daughters and/or other women? No, I do not. Do I want them to compete in women's sports? Absolutely not. It took women decades if not centuries to be properly recognized wrt sports. Now, men are trying to take back sports from women, dominate them, and sometimes injure women in the process. In your world, does this make me a "hater?" -
If you do want me, gimme little sugar If you don't want me, don't lead me on girl But if you need me, show me that you love me And when I'm feelin' blue, and I want you There's just one thing that you should do Just gimme some kind of sign girl, oh, my baby To show me that you're mine girl, oh yeah Just gimme some kind of sign girl, oh my darlin' To show me that you're mine girl, all right

Maybe. I hope so. Some folks appear to be paralyzed in pain and anger because of a few ill advised comments by a football player. -

What I don't understand is why anybody cares what a football player says at a parochial school graduation. When I was young I slept around big time and drank beer. If this guy made a speech condemning me and others of my ilk, I cannot stress enough how little I would care. If a person is gay, why would the comments of this person be of any importance at all to them? I'm being serious. I simply cannot fathom why anyone should care or even be injured in any way. Would said person stop being gay? Become more gay? I have three quite accomplished, wonderful daughters. They are proud women (and Bills fans LOL). If this person did make bad comments about women they would probably call him a name of sorts and completely forget about it the next day because comments like this are inconsequential in their busy lives. I think that today too many people think that everyone else simply HAS to agree with them. It is not a good omen for the country. As always, jmo. -
Life's too short to make a mistake Let's think of each other and hesitate Young and impatient we may be There's no need to act foolishly If we part, our hearts won't forget it Years from now we'll surely regret it Give me just a little more time And our love will surely grow Give me just a little more time And our love will surely grow

Why? Because you disagree with what he said? I'm wondering if you think that those in attendance are entitled to not agree with you, or any other specific dogma with which you concur. I personally don't care what he thinks or says. Would I want him as the speaker at my daughter's graduation? No. When my daughter graduated the speaker was Elie Wiesel. His speech was moving and wonderful. Would he be OK with you? It seems as if today, many wouldn't appreciate him. I wonder why. -

Why do you even care how many agree with him? I certainly don't care. And why are you looking to start bitter arguments? Can't you do this on PPP? Maybe you should go lose another arguement with @BADOLBILZ. You are about 0 for 100. If I could get odds on these matchups I would be a multi-millionaire. -

Are political posts suddenly allowed on TSW? -
Things that really piss you off when driving.
Bill from NYC replied to Jon in Pasadena's topic in Off the Wall
Two things.... 1) Now that weed is legal, I can actually smell it in my car while driving with the windows closed and the air conditioner on, this even on a parkway. This is not once in a while either. It happens all the time. 2) Bicyclists who purposely drive in the middle of busy streets. It's as if they are trying to prove some political point. They can easily ride their bikes on roads without jamming up traffic, or for that matter risking getting themselves seriously hurt or killed. -
Is Santora's the place right near the entrance to SUNY Buffalo? There used to be a pub right near it that I thought was great but they closed. Either way, the pizza place I am talking about was surprisingly good.

All the times that I've cried Keeping all the things I knew inside It's hard But it's harder to ignore it If they were right, I'd agree But it's them they know, not me Now there's a way And I know that I have to go away I know, I have to go

Goff got 170 mil. in guaranteed cash over 4 years. If Josh was getting a new 4 year contract now, he would get well 200 million guaranteed. My guess would be 250 mil. or very close to it. Jmo.

Maybe he will go to a school that is hard.

Said I hope that we get the promise, ladies And make me get off Take it from girls with our imagination So we can get off Call me up at your place, I can love you crazy In the heat you will understand Danger and excitement, that's what makes a lady Find out what she wants in a man To get off, to get off, to get off, to get off To get off, to get off, to get off, to get, get off

Going to plant a weeping willow On the banks green edge it will grow, grow, grow Sing a lullaby beside the water Lovers come and go, the river roll, roll, roll Fare you well, fare you well I love you more than words can tell Listen to the river sing sweet songs To rock my soul

Very sad news. I hope that he did not suffer. RIP Mr. Smith.

Former Jets CB Buster Skrine on the run from police
Bill from NYC replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
We are lucky that Whaley and Rex didn't draft him, although they did use their 2015 1st pick (2nd round #18) on an outstanding corner....Ronald Darby, who had quite the stellar career. In 2014, Whaley traded away two first round picks to move from 9th to 4th in order to draft Sammy Watkins, while the quarterbacks were Tyrod Taylor, Matt Cassell, and EJ Manuel. Oh and just to be nice, Whaley threw in a 4th rounder as well. Young Bills Fans will hopefully never have to suffer as hard and as long as we older fans did. -
Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State

So true. I remember Parcells saying that the reason he drafted Kevin Mawae was Ted Washington. Ted was a flat out GREAT player. -
I pulled in to Nazareth Was feeling 'bout half past dead I just need someplace Where I can lay my head "Hey, mister, can you tell me Where a man might find a bed?" He just grinned and shook my hand "No" was all he said Take a load off, Fanny Take a load for free Take a load off, Fanny And (And, and) You put the load right on me (You put the load right on me)

Matt, I do get your point. But what (at least imo) HAS to be factored in was that we needed a quarterback desperately. We had been seriously lacking at that position since Kelly retired, unless you want to count Bledsoe for one half season. You saw the list above of the QBs on our roster in 2017. We needed a QB far more than a cornerback. People can make the case that other teams passed on Mahomes and this is true. Still, it was up to a well paid McDermott to recognize Mahomes' talent. Some of the posters on this board were furious. In subsequent drafts, McDermott continued to go after defensive players with early picks, twice even trading up in round one for them, and also drafting a DT at #9. Again, I am more than happy with Josh Allen. He is one of my all time favorite players but this isn't the point that I'm tryimg to make. I am simply making the case that this was an ill advised trade.

Here is what seems to be the most accepted formula. Google it and see for yourself how often this formula comes up. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/5/8/5683486/nfl-draft-trade-value-chart This chart doesn't list the value of the following year's picks but it does list the Bills #10 at 1,300 for a return of 786 (for picks 27 and 91). Even if the 2018 pick closed the gap somewhat, does the fact that the Bills were in desperate need for a quarterback escape you? The following is the 2017 Bills roster. It lists 3 QBs: 1) Tyrod Taylor 2) Nate Peterman 3) Joe Webb https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2017_roster.htm Does this appear to you to be a team that needed a cornerback more than a quarterback? If so, please help me understand your conclusion. Do ya think that KC Fans dislike ther fact that McDermott handed them a certain HOF QB, one of the best ever? Really, try to be serious. You may see those of us who think this was an almost indescribably stupid deal as being "nonsensical. Frankly I find this comment to be rude and presumptous but that's just me. Am I happy with Josh? Very happy!!!! We are extremely lucky that he fell to us, unless of course you think that McDermott planned this at the time of the trade. In any case, welcome to TSW.

Everybody's talkin' at me I don't hear a word they're sayin' Only the echoes of my mind People stoppin', starin' I can't see their faces Only the shadows of their eyes I'm goin' where the sun keeps shinin' Through the pourin' rain Goin' where the weather suits my clothes Bankin' off of the northeast winds Sailin' on summer breeze And skippin' over the ocean like a stone

He can't. By now he is probably waving his pom poms, wearing an unusual outfit. What would the equation be on McDermott's trade of the #10 pick (Mahomes) to KC?
