Ducasse might really be the worst player in the NFL. And thanks for the great news about Roy Batty.

What Other Surprises Await The Bills ??

Would you take a first rounder in 2019? -
I recently completed the book by Dr. Omalu. Maybe he did too. At his age he is even more of a sitting duck to get clobbered by some assassin defensive back. He was wise to get out imo.

I don't think that such a trade is beyond the realm of possibility mind you, but Bills Fans are the funniest fans in sports. -
No problem. You know how fast RBs hit the wall. One would hope they are already anticipating Shady's demise. Hughes is under contract for a while and seems healthy. Incog, Kyle and Wood already need to be replaced sooner than later. This teams needs at least 2 rock solid drafts, to of course include a quarterback. It can be done too KJ, but to do so the Bills will need a complete, total reversal of their drafting trends.

That post, combined with your screen name is too funny!!!

You see, I completely disagree CB. I think that he was here to earn just a few more millions and ride off into the sunset. Older players don't come to Buffalo to win championships these days. How could they when they look up and see NE? And I don't think it matters at all. Odds tell us that he would have caught a couple of short passes, got hurt, and collected his checks. In 2018, the Bills will have their biggest opportunity since 2006 to improve this team. I suppose the total collapse we are now watching really is just a necessary evil.

Bandit, a close friend of mine is an avid Jets Fan. I consider him to be a football expert as far as fans go. I won't put him in a class with Badol, but I would place him in the 2 percentile of knowledgeable fans. He told me that Ducasse might be the worst offensive lineman he has ever seen. Now, he can't remember seeing Greg Jerman or Marcus Spriggs, but his point is taken. From what I have seen, I am convinced that the Bills could do better with an undrafted free agent. They really should cut Duclasse today and try to coach someone up, especially if doing so will help net them another 3rd!!!

REAL Trade Proposal - Jerry Hughes
Bill from NYC replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a solid idea. Why do NFL teams waste their resources on the small stuff like blocking and pass rush? I think that the Bills should line up 6 or 7 defensive backs on defense AND offense. It's an idea whose time has come. Great post, thanks!!! Nobody. They are a waste of a roster spot. -
I wonder if we could get Marcus Spriggs in for a visit.

Atlanta's stadium will have a Chick-fil-A

4 minutes Bro. That was impressive! -
Your point is taken, but they also have used a lot of 2nds and 3rds on dbs 26. Mike Williams was also a mistake. He was a RT with a bad weight problem and a chronic ankle injury coming out of college. McKinnie had his issues but he was an excellent LT. My signature in those days was "Draft McKinnie." If the Bills decide to make the OL a priority, 2018 is the time to do so.
-
Of course, but the Bills prefer to draft defensive backs. They traditionally shy away from blockers. In fact, since 1990 the Bills have drafted no less than 10 dbs in the first round. This of course does not count Darby who was our first pick but a second rounder. In the same time span they have drafted all of 4 blockers in round 1. One would think that there would be no excuse for not drafting offensive linemen next year but I don't count on it.

That screen name is just great!!! I place it easily in my top 10 and I have been here since the 90's. Welcome to TSW.

Is McDermott/Bean just Jauron/Levy II?
Bill from NYC replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gerry the move might turn out to be a good one. I wouldn't bank on it but it's surely possible. The OP was asking if the new admin compares to Levy/Jauron and I think that there are in fact similarities at this point. -
Is McDermott/Bean just Jauron/Levy II?
Bill from NYC replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I disagree. Badol is speculating and there is a basis for this John. This year, the Bills once again passed on a quarterback and drafted a first round corner. Who does this sound like? And yes, I know they acquired a 2018 first rounder. They deserved one for trading down 16 slots!!! In 2006, Levy/Jauron entered the draft with a 1st (#8), an early second and 2 early thirds. They came away with Whitner, McCargo, and Ashton Youboty. That's right, those three players with 4 early picks. In the 4th, they drafted Ko Simpson. In summary this, along with the trades, is not a great start. If they mess up the 2018 draft, will you still support them? In other words, is there any limit to how many bad moves you will tolerate? From where I sit, there is NO excuse for a poor draft with all of those picks. Jmo. -
Proof? Perhaps not but the first thing they did was pass on drafting a quarterback and grab another first round corner (this after letting one walk). It might not prove much but it sure sounds familiar, no?
-
I'm sorry but Levy and Jauron destroyed this team with the 2006 draft and I called it that very day. They reached for and traded up for garbage, and focused on mediocre at best to second rate defensive backs. I predicted at the time that it would take 5 years to recover and I'm still waiting.
-
OK, that was funny!!! Stick around, you will see what I was talking about.
-
It is good to see you and others acknowledge that BADOL really does know what he is talking about. I don't always agree with him.....in fact I was furious when Whaley gave away the store for Sammy. Still, he doesn't just say s@#t. His posts are all intelligent and well thought. A word of advice for you, a new poster.....why don't you jot down each instance in which you disagree with Badol. Then, get back to that list later on and see who was correct. You would be much more informed if you engaged him in constructive dialogue. Up to you Bro.

You know, I am not going to assign the bulk of the blame for the lack for the lack of playoff appearances on Hughes, but I readily admit that you do raise an interesting point. Good post.

How About A Thread For Those Cooling Off A Bit?
Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would be great GB! One good draft could put us on the map in a year or 2. I would love to see a top qb AND strengthen the OL for him. -

Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously? Go to www.drafthistory.com. It will tell you what this team has done wrt the draft since the team was founded. Posters on this board have correctly predicted first round draft choices year after year, and I am including McKelvin, Gilmore, Spiller and even Watkins and many others. It hasn't been so hard to do. -
I'll start.....To define terms, I am looking at the trades as 1 move for the sake of this post. In all, I am still against these moves because: 1) I think we could have received more than a #2 and a bad corner for Watkins. 2) I never thought Darby was THAT bad . 3) We are now weak at WR despite an early pick in 2017. 4) I truly believe that out of the 6 picks in the first 3 rounds of the 2018 draft, half or more will consist of running backs and secondary. That really sucks. Despite the above, I am starting to cool off a bit from my initial burst of anger because: 1) Watkins, although extremely talented, PROBABLY didn't want to play here any more than Gilmore did. Although I am not one to endorse giving in to players (ala the Peters trade), I CAN appreciate that the new bosses want to play the games with their own players. I'm not convinced that they know what they are doing, but maybe they do have a clue. 2) It would seem to be a sure thing that they will draft a qb in 2018 and supposedly there are some good ones. 3) Maybe, just maybe I will be wrong about #3 above and the Bills will add some blockers and pass rushers. 4) There is nothing I can do about it and I am too old to allow myself to get as angry as I used to at the follies I have seen from this team. 5) No matter how mad I was or ever will be at the Bills, what's the difference? I will support them until I am carted off this planet. Is anybody else tempering their hard line stance in either direction? GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who are you going to watch now that Bills suck
Bill from NYC replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I cannot and will not turn my back on this team. I will B word and moan until the cows come home and come right back for more misery. True Bills Fans are in this thing forever. We do however deserve a playoff appearance. I mean really.....
