I think that the band peaked in summer/1989. I like almost all of their music and have seen them numerous ties but in 89 they really had it together. I am in the minority but I think that things went downhill when Furthur broke up. Kadlecik is great imo.

Half a mile from the county fair And the rain came pourin' down Me and Billy standin' there With a silver half a crown Hands are full of a fishin' rod And the tackle on our backs We just stood there gettin' wet With our backs against the fence Oh, the water Oh, the water Oh, the water Hope it don't rain all day

Now the race is on And here comes pride in the backstretch Heartaches goin' to the inside My tears are holdin' back, they're tryin' not to fall My hearts out of the runnin' True love's scratched for another's sake The race is on and it looks like heartaches And the winner loses all

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily Oh joyfully, playfully watching me But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible Logical, oh responsible, practical And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable Oh clinical, oh intellectual, cynical

You knew the SEC wouldn’t cancel their season
Bill from NYC replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are hundreds of thousands of black Alabama Fans. Do you count them in your ugly description? There are multiple Crimson Tide Facebook pages, some with 75,000 followers. These folks are out and out obsessed with the team and are every bit as enthusiastic as Bills Fans. The south does have a shameful history in terms of race, but; I dare say that they are more integrated than much of the north these days. The NYC school system is more segregated than those in Mississippi and Alabama. If you want to read a great book that touches on it, check out “The Battle For Room 314.” -

That was a rather disgusting thing to say. -

Do you realize just how boring you are? Before you convince 1 person to agree with your lame, banal point of view, you will put 100,000 folks to sleep. -
If he gets cut before the end of the season I will either be just a bit glad, or (most probably) not care at all.

Why, because that left wing page says so? Btw, how many screen names do you have on this board? -

It does matter and it will get worse, whereas many major cities are now promoting lawlessness. In NYS, our thing is to empty out jails and prisons. -

The police officer was a scumbag, and undid decades of good police work by thousands of dedicated professionals in one fell swoop. Of course the radical left is making it worse, but still; it will take years to undo the damage that this cop caused. The entire situation sucks and millions of people will suffer. Many already are. -

I don't think not being in lockstep agreement with you makes one "ignorant." Frankly, I think that you are coming off as rather smug, self righteous, and closed minded. -
[Edited] Beasley returns to Active list

I feel as if he should count. Back lives matter. -
I recommend that the rioters intentionally startle police horses. After doing so they should stand right next to them and show them who is boss.

Had a blast!!! 4 nights of fun with 3 couples who have been friends for more than 50 years. We met in a Queens schoolyard as kids. One of the guys (some of you met him) went to UB and met his wife up there. They still live down here but bought the family home in Williamsville. We stayed in the Hampton Inn on Main Street. There are places to go, the food is GREAT, the homes are cheap compared to here, and the people are shockingly friendly. Aside from the brutal winters/snow storms, there is nothing not to like imo. I'm in good shape for my age, but shoveling snow is not an option, and I don't know if I could deal with multiple 24 inch snowfalls. That said, I am in love with the area. I did not see 1 house with a "FOR SALE" sign in Williamsville or Amherst. Not one. In fact, they were building beautiful houses near a church that we attended. Some of them were not even close to being completed and they had "SOLD" signs, as did a few of the lots. I don't know what is happening in WNY but I DO know what is happening here. People with money in NYC are RUNNING out to the suburbs and buying up houses like I have never seen before. They are getting away from the riots, filth, and criminals that were released. Crime stats are through the roof and heading for 80's level. With people working from home, there is less need for cities. It looks like this is happening too Buffalo, but again, I am not from the area and cannot say. In any event, if you own a house in Williamsville/Amherst, congrats!!! It is a wonderful area and your property value must be skyrocketing!

Those 'Poor' People earning $200k
Bill from NYC replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not really. People used to be given pensions that were mostly paid for by their employers. Now, folks must lay out their own money to plan for old age so why isn't it an expense? Tax deductible yes, but; an expense nonetheless. I can't say that I completely understand what it is that troubles you about this issue. is it just the complaints, or do you think that a family that makes 200 K, pays 15,000 in property tax, and has kids in college deserves a rebate/incentive, or whatever one wishes to call it less than an illegal alien? I for one do not but that is simply jmo.
