Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky
davefan66 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Like the pick. Big guy who I don’t expect to be a pass rush threat, but a dude who can eat multiple blocks and let others make the plays. Also love getting stability on the dline versus a bunch of one year contracts. -
What’s nice for the Bills is finally stability on the defensive line. Got some guys on rookie contracts with Hoecht on a multi year deal. Bosa looks like a one year deal, but could be two years. Nice knowing we won’t stack the defensive line with one year contracts and hope for the best.

Looking forward to seeing how well Skattebo plays in the NFL. Would have liked him in a lower round to us…

Go Bills!!

Shedur Sanders Make To Round 5? (Poll) - UPDATED x 3
davefan66 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Could it be? Of course. Just the structure of the billion dollar sports machine that is the NFL makes it far less common to happen. Player ability and marketability and the money that it produces ultimately is what drives the NFL. Weird part about all this? It will probably drive more conversation and “hot takes” for the talking heads than if he was drafted first round. -

The NFL is one place I don’t think race plays into decisions. Ever? Who knows, but if that is an issue, it’s rare. In a QB hungry league race isn’t the issue. At some point his abilities should get him drafted as a backup or project All the stuff that comes with him? Teams are not willing to use a high draft pick on that. -

One could think that this would inject a little humility in this young kid. The wait and what’s being said could help lend a little introspection for him. I’d be on board with that. If this kid turned out good and this was the fuel. Problem is, Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The overbearing daddy behind you. Just don’t believe humility will be any part of his future. I don’t wish him I’ll will. Just was very tired of deions act when he was a player, and especially his run as his sons coach. -
Is daddy paying rental fees for day 3 of the “draft party”?
-
He doesn’t have talent enough for teams to deal with the circus.. Especially a 2nd, or maybe now, a 3rd string dude.
-
They should.
-
No. When he is drafted, so is daddy. Deion will be instrumental in driving a wedge between sonny boy and starting QB. Bad for the team.
-
I am just glad that NFL exec’s saw through the incredible amount of media piling on that this kid was a top 10 pick…or higher. In a QB starved draft, they thought they could elevate him much higher than he deserves. Exec’s are seeing through it. That being said…. Raiders have two picks in a row… Would not be surprised if they draft him.

We have our practice squad guys from last year. Either one or two need to step up, or time to move on from Hamler, Shavers and Virgil. Sneeky feeling cooper comes back. Not sure how I feel about that. Samuel isn’t a lock to be productive. Yeah, WR is a need. I don’t think the loss of Hollins is talked enough about. Dude was a wry good blocker, made some nice catches and solid teammate.
-
DT is a huge need and should be a priority. Would like safety next - quality depth at least, future starter. WR depth would be my next need with a speed guy, big frame. I would also like to see LB. Need better depth. Not a huge fan of Spector. Unless they feel Andreessen will climb the depth chart. Regardless if we pick a DT, I expect a few FA’s to be signed. Would expect to see some familiar faces.
-
Good question. Did Beane allude to any of his skill being a scheme fit in his press conference? I only heard bits and pieces. Or, is it just his man coverage and speed that the Bills will be tapping into? Seems there is an anticipated emphasis on man coverage next season.. I just hope he has more skills and ability to play in multiple schemes, unlike our last first round CB.
-
Who knows, may have been in play. Depends on what draft capital or assets were needed to jump back in. Remember, draft trades for QB’s can expect greater return for the team giving up that pick.
-
Just like his father. Except his father was actually good.
-
No real surprises. Maybe the lack of trades at the top end of the round? And the number of trades at the back end of the draft. Sanders dropping out of the first was no surprise. Media driven first round talent.. will go in early 2nd only because he’s a qb.

McD can develop CB’s. Elam notwithstanding. Feel good about this pick. -

I hope not. Hope the Bills did their due diligence. -
Saw the camera guys setting up for the tunnel shot. Figured it was a dude in the green room.

Taking a lot of time here.
-
Not surprised there.
