  1. For sure. Sanders was incredible with his speed, cutting ability and vision. Dude was a beast, most likely best ever RB talent. His problem was the team he was on.
  2. Dude can ball. Looks great. Problem is translating that to the NFL. Needs a solid team and good coaches around him like Josh did.
  3. Underrated player IMO. Was a generational talent running and catching. Played at the same time as Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Dickerson, Marcus Allen. Kinda got lost in the fray. Pound for pound I’d take Thurman over all those guys, except Sanders.
  4. A lot of tweets he’s signed. No announcement by the Bills yet. Feel it’s not a done deal, and as mentioned above maybe he’s looking for a OC job?
  5. Happy with this. Dorsey won’t be perfect right away. Will take some time to acclimate to being in charge of the entire offense. Probably a perfect time for such a change in OC though. Josh is doing great and can help make up for any learning curve issues by Dorsey.
  6. I think we can all agree that Flores has committed career suicide as it pertains to the NFL. What drove him to it? And why now? I wonder if in interviews he was asked the tough questions about inability to work with others? Does the Rooney Rule have more to do with his actions, even more than he has let on? Did Ross get in the ears of other owners? Whatever the reason, he decided that doing this now was more important to him than ever coaching in the NFL again. I do applaud his convictions and standing up for what he believes. The ramifications of this bombshell lawsuit won’t go away anytime soon. 1. Ross and his ownership. NFL will certainly look into the allegations of tank for pay. If Ross did make that offer, what other shady things has he done? You don’t wake up one morning and suddenly change your morale compass and offer the HC of your team 100 grand per loss unless you are a dirtbag to begin with. At the very least there will be monetary and possibly draft pick fines. In the end, I don’t know how Ross survives this. 2. Rooney Rule. On the face of it, seemed like a good way to get minorities a foot in the door where they may not have had a chance previously. In practice, it probably did not fully do what was intended. Yes, it’s great to get your name bandied around as a HC or coordinator candidate. It may help you later. Problem is, most coaching replacements are picked even before the old coach is fired. That doesn’t mean the Rooney interviews are shams per se, but are likely not going to lead to HC jobs. There needs to be a deep cultural change regarding racism before something like the Rooney Rule will have its intended effect. I guess if there were less racism, we wouldn’t need rules like that.
  7. OK with this, our o-line regressed over the last few years. Need to look at coaching and schemes as a big reason for how some of our players regressed.
  8. Backchannels. He has most likely let it be known he isn’t interested in any other job to whom ever tries to court him. Jim Harbaugh should have his name attached to more openings. He doesn’t because he’s let it be known what team(s) he’d coach for. He most likely chose the team(s) he is willing to leave the college ranks for and initiated contact with them. My guess is he wants the Vikings job and is using the ‘phins to help close that deal.
  9. RIP. Loved him as Dr. Johnny Fever.
  10. Bengals are for real. Them beating the chiefs isn’t redemption, but makes me able to watch the SB. Feel they have a very good shot at winning. Not a fan of the Rams. Maybe jealous, but hate when teams “buy” or mortgage the future to win championships - Stafford, Michel, Beckham, Miller, Ramsey. They don’t have a first round pick until 2024. Not quite as obvious as the Yankees have done over the years, but not the home grown route others take. Maybe I’m jealous the Bills didn’t go after some of these guys (or others) that may have gotten us over the top. Lastly, not a fan of players who pick teams based on SB possibility. Hate Beckham and don’t feel he deserves a SB after busting himself off two teams. He’s definitely not one of the players I wish we had gone after. Again maybe jealous we didn’t go all out, but prefer the sustainable approach, not a one shot.
  11. Rams have the best defense left. At least on paper. Feel the Niners win today. Can’t explain why, they seem like big underdogs. Just feel they can take the Rams.
  12. Hope the Bengals make a game of this and hope they beat the chiefs. Gosh darn this is tough to watch.
  13. Wasn’t doing to watch the first game at first. Now will and rooting for the Bengals. Ultimately, hope it’s the Niners taking home the championship. In reality, as long as it’s ABC (Anybody But the Chiefs), I’m good with it.
  14. Feel if the Bills wanted him, they’d have signed him by now. Most likely they are doing their do diligence and looking at all the options available. They may want a known entity who can run the offense without McD’s oversight as HC. Dorsey may require more intervention while learning to be a full time OC. He may be waiting out the Bills decision before committing to the Giants. And/or he’s in play for other teams also. Would make sense based on Josh’s growth.
  15. Manning was a great field general. Did so with a lot of flair, whereas TB was more ice. Manning absolutely belongs in the conversation. As for older QB’s I’d have to say Montana was the best ever. Ice in his veins, first QB to run the killer “West coast offense”. Mobile, great arm and was fantastic at last drive wins.
  16. I’d have to put an asterisk on that. Spy gate and deflategate certainly taint his accomplishments for me. Yes, he did win with Tampa. That doesn’t even the score.
  17. Yep. Although, Gronk this week did say he may stay if tommy retired. I doubt it unless they get another stud QB. He wouldn’t stay for a rebuild.
  18. I believe they have guys who agree to come on as the new OC before the old one leaves. They may even have the blessing of the outgoing coach. I also believe they have guys they vetted and offers before they fire. Just like most Fortune 500 companies do. That’s how those who are good, stay good.
  19. Bills have prepped for whatever is happening. Ever notice there is a ton of conjecture about coaching moves and it falls out however it falls out? Deals have been made across the board behind the scenes. New HC’a don’t take jobs workout assurances of whom will be their coordinators. Info that is most likely shared with the new team. Agsin, McDermott had prepared for this and had a guy on the hook already. And don’t forget the media is in in on too. Floating names to help push an outlining individual or someone who is close, but hasn’t locked it up. Ie: “Coach X is a top candidate for tesm A”. An hour later “Coach X is high on the list of teams B and C”. Feeding frenzy where there is not one.
  20. I looked at the entire season. Not just one play. Problem is. He’s only good as his run blocking, pass blocking and play calling. All of which were suspect through the season at times. Otherwise, I’d say he’s a good back. Speed is relevant. I’d his 40 great? Maybe not. But is his game speed? Actual speed he produces witching the confines of the game? I’d say he’s good enough. 40 speed is important once you break past the LOS. Behind the LOS he needs to pick his holes and keep his speed at how fast the oline blocks for him. He can’t hit dull speed and pass his blocks.
  21. Singletary has speed. And he’s good for this offense. We need middle LB the most on my opinion.
  22. Absolutely. And the cap is a ton of bucks now.
  23. Yeah. He’s good enough. Proved it when he got the ball this year. We have a few other issues that need addressing before another RB - middle LB, CB opposite Tre’, consistent OL depth. 3rd or 4th WR pending offseason moves - Sanders who can go, Beasley and whatever happens with him. See him as 3rd or most likely 4th. Davis will be escalated to 2nd string. TE? Seems to be not talked about much. Knox is a number one. Is Sweeney a 2? Not sure. Who else do we have? Gilliam? Not sure he fits as a two or three.
  24. Dont forget about restructuring contracts. Mahomes, Jones, Clark, Hill and Thuney account for $142,000,000 cap hit next season. That’s 5 players. All except Hill have hefty dead cap space. Hill is 2.6 million, while Clark is 12 million and it explodes from there. Restructure a few of these, most likely Mahomes is one of them and they get much cap relief. I hate to say. It takes our top 12 contracts to reach 143 million, including Josh’s contract. Id ‘d say we are in a better cap situation than the Chiefs. Less players accounting for the most dollars. The Chiefs will face a day of reckoning before we do.
  25. Correct. Don’t want to get complacent. How many times did Tiger Woods overhaul his swing? Several times, including when he was one of the best golfers in the world. The best never relax.
