  1. Leased a Silverado at the beginning of the year. Great truck. Ride is amazing, fit and finish is great. Most of of my friends have/had F150’s over the years. Was my plan to get one also when I got back into pickups. Test drove the Chevy and fell in love. If you haven’t driven a Silverado lately, take a look. They’ve made major improvements over over the last few years.
  2. Lions fans cheering caught me off guard a few times on their good plays. Didn’t expect it to be that loud. Had a bunch of Lions fans in my section. A lot of good natured ribbing back and forth, even high fiving after the game. Most well mannered opposing fans I’ve seen. Worst has to be Steelers fans by far.
  3. Being a Registered Nurse, I’ve had this conversation with family members more often than I care to. I’d much rather be having a conversation about getting better and going home. Why do we discuss DNR with patients/family? No, it’s not financial. No, it’s not because we don’t want to break ribs while performing CPR. As a member of the team caring for your loved one, I am intimately involved with their diagnosis and long term prognosis. If the patients prognosis is fair, good or better, the patient will remain at the hospital until they are medically stable to move to the next level of care (rehab), or better enough to go home. I’ve never seen the patient or family members petitioned by staff to sign a DNR for financial reasons. If a patient is still sick and condition worsens and codes several times under our care, if not already, they’d be moved to an ICU environment until stable enough to move out to a medical/surgical floor. If the Doctors diagnosis/prognosis is very poor, then we as the health care team are charged with offering every option we can to the patient/family. There are several options, and they all are the patient, or their family to make the decision what course to follow. Continue the present course of care, either as a full code or DNR, with the goal of a full recovery. Pull back on some care. Offer for the patient to be comfort care meaning no invasive procedures will be done, blood work is stopped, regular medications continue along with continuing eating/drinking if the patient can. Comfort care is usually a part of end of life care, with either Palliative care or Hospice care involved. Why do health care providers discuss a DNR with patients/family? It’s depends on what has happened with the patient and what the long term prognosis is. As a care provider, the worst part of health care that I see are family members that can’t come to grips with what is happening, and cant make the decision to let their loved one pass on peacefully. It’s an extremely difficult decision that carries with it a sense of guilt, and we are very aware of that. We would never have the discussion with family unless the prognosis was extremely poor. Nothing worse than seeing a patient needlessly suffer, it’s heartbreaking. Please understand this. A DNR does not mean we stop care, or stop life saving medications. Everything that is being done, continues to be done until the patient has a medical event that requires CPR. DNR means several things. First off, in NYS we have the MOLST form - Medical Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment. The MOLST form specifies what to do if the patient stops breathing or their heart stops. Either perform full CPR and intubate (breathing machine), CPR only and no breathing machine, breathing machine only if that’s what’s needed, or a DNR/DNI which is perform no life saving measures. The level of DNR is he patient/family members decision alone. The doctor provides the information to assist in making the decision, but can’t make the decision for the family. That being said, sometimes a patient will rebound beyond anyone’s expectations, as it sounds like what happened with the OP’s family member. But please be assured, any conversation to make a family member a DNR is done with the information the doctor has, the patients history and what the long term prognosis is. I’ve never seen the discussion happen for financial reasons. The patient has a Bill of Rights and we can’t force them to do anything they don’t want to, we can’t. Homestly, anything we say or do is in the best interest of the patient. That’s why we got in the health care field, to care for those who can’t care for themselves and the desire help others.
  4. My wife has two $50 Fire tablets that she plays her Facebook games on (Candy Crush and Bubble Witch). As long as the tablet you purchase has a Facebook app, most anything should work fine. My wife is the worst when it comes to electronics, hates her iPhone wishes it was still a flip phone. She loves her fire tablet for Facebook and surfing the little she does. Pros - price and price. Cons - not a user friendly OS, smaller (there are larger Fire tablets). It’s actually a great little product. It really comes down to what she will use it for. Facebook mostly? Other apps? Movies and Music? Again, for really lite use, a Fire tablet is fine. More apps, movies and music, I’d get an iPad. Yes, a little more expensive than android based tablets, but worth the money IMHO. I’m not an Apple fanboy, just like their IOS better than android and the quality of their products. My personal opinion.
  5. At the old Manikins nightclub on Niagara Falls Boulevard (old Three Coins). Billed it as a “private party” to allow them to show the game...
  6. RIP Isiah. Thos Bills teams don’t get enough credit. Fun group of guys.
  7. Have not listened to schopp in many years, and gave up on the morning show early last season. Can honestly say I don’t miss them one bit. If you hate them, turn them off. Want Bills news and talk? Plenty of message boards and news outlets on the internet.
  8. Sit upper deck, got a great look at how fast holes closed yesterday. The jags front 7 are fast, as soon as a hole opened, they closed in. To effectively run against that type of defense, you need a north-south runner, not a shake-and-bake type of guy. Shady could have gained more yards most every time he hit the hole if he just ran and didn’t juke. By the time he finished stutter stepping, the D was on him. Would have preferred Ivory getting the ball more yesterday. That being said, seems he has lost a half step. Against a fast defense it’s more apparent, but it’s been all season he isn’t hitting the hole as well as he used to. Not saying he’s washed up, last week he had a heck of a game. Also not saying it’s entirely his fault as the offensive lines blocking isn’t great. Just that he’s not hitting the hole like he has in the past.
  9. Good question. Allen has played well at times, enough that I’d let him play once he is fully healthy. He can learn watching, but nothing beats learning while on the field. I believe the kid is mentally tough enough that he won’t be negatively impacted by poor outcomes. As long as he isn’t seriously injured, which can happen at any time....for example, like walking onto a training camp practice field.
  10. Yes he will. Now that it seems we have a viable backup, he’ll be practice squad bound sooner than later. Once released, nobody will pick him up.
  11. I liked what I saw today. Thing is, I believe that was a jets team who knew the Head coach’s job is in line and didn’t show up. Truly believe that game was a winner regardless, but the jets didn’t seem to have any fire today.
  12. When he has a QB who get him the ball, Zay looks awfully good.
  13. He Looked good. If he keeps this up, locked in the backup position. Bye, bye Peterman. Hopefully our coaching staff doesn’t coach what he did out of him. He seemed to just play. Not a robot doing what he was told. Had command of the huddle and winged it.
  14. Jets 35 Bills 10 Our defense is decent, but won’t be able to stop the jests when our inept can’t hold on to the ball.
  15. Word of warning, don’t use cheats. Using cheats negates your ability to auto save and manually save. Not sure why R* would put them in if using doesn’t allow you to save the game. I know I’ll be flamed for using cheats, but just passing along some info.
  16. I’m done with Peterman. If he throws the ball with some zip and right spot, WR makes the catch on both interceptions. Wouldn’t have bobbled the first. He will throw at least 2 more now that the defense can just pin their ears back.
  17. They had Landry Jones in right before they signed Anderson, smart money would be him. Kap is still available, and will remain so. Isn’t Pryor a QB?? Had him in yesterday! Can’t play both QB and WR...especially when Benjamin is sent packing. If Anderson is out, Peterman starts and some schlep is signed to backup.
  18. The weapons/inventory wheel is a PITA. Gameplay is decent. Few things I really hate: 1. Too easy to draw your gun and fire it, especially when on a horse. Did this in a town a few times and got the cops after me for a public disturbance. Ended up with a large bounty! 2. Ran around a corner and accidentally slammed my horse into a citizen and killed him. Yup, ended up with another bounty. 3. Horse can’t go a long distance at a decent speed without losing all its energy. Ned to keep using the horse revive....if you have any. 4. Ran into the rival gang on a bridge. Was wasted quickly because the repeater takes too long to load. Understand it’s probably more realistic, but getting killed easily. Every time you die, lose between 9 and 10 bucks. 5. Cant hold up stage coaches without a witness showing up. If you kill him, another witness witnesses the killing of the witness... And yup, more bounty! Playing the 2nd chapter now. Seems like a good game. Graphics are amazing at times.
  19. Stunned he lasted this long. Taking your team to the playoffs for the first time in many years, then having the wheels fall off the next season while in cap jail is nothing like what Hue has done. He won THREE games in three years! We’ve won one game less THIS season has he did in three years. Always wondered what he had over the ownership...
  20. We need to slow the game down as best as possible, hopefully can get some sort of run game going. If we have to rely on Anderson’s arm alone, it will get bad....fast. Our defense is good, but won’t be able to stop them if the offense commits three and outs. Three and outs will put or defense in a horrible situation and the patsies will run the score up. I don’t think they will take their foot off the gas until the game ends, regardless of score.
  21. It was tongue in cheek. When things go bad, people look to the past.
  22. Hindsight allows us to look at the trade and see it was probably a bad move when strictly looking at Mahomes and his current season. Yeah, looks bad. Doesn’t mean he’d be this good here. Much better offensive talent on the Chiefs, and a coaching staff getting their all from the team. Can’t compare Allen and Mahomes unless they havensimiliar offensive talent and coaching. If Allen does become a good QB, and White and Edmunds continue to play like they are, then maybe the trade is even.
  23. Yeah. Romo will give up a cushy announcer job to coach the Bills. If he did coach, most likely its the Cowboys. I say we sign Kelly as HC, Thurman as OC, Bruce as DC and Tasker as ST. We’d be pretty awesome!
  24. They are in cap jail. Can’t have the depth needed to win in this league if you don’t have the money to pay. We are projected to have the 3rd best cap space in 2019 behind the Colts and Jets. Odds are we’ll end up overpaying for FA’s next year, but have the space to do it for a few. Couple that with another good draft, and maybe we have the talent to move forward. Now, if our coaching could step up....
