i have no problem with the cuts or cap space part. Same with Kirk and Chandler Jones. But way too many JAG free agents for my liking. Why not just bring back our own JAG’s? Phillips and Wallace won’t be much more than the JAG’s he’s replacing them with. And Gronk wouldn’t be much more than Dissley. And not sure why we’d let Feliciano walk and bring in 2 JAG’s at the same price to replace him.

Never said he wasn’t. Just seems there’s people who cling to something Beane says as some kind of validation for their favorite players. Beane also said he expected Beasley back with the team a month ago. He’s not gonna say something publicly that’s gonna tip off or restrict what he can do with a player under contract.

Why isn’t he signed to an extension yet? And last year they took Edmunds 5th year option decision right up to the 11th hour. Beane already said he’s exercising Oliver’s 2 months before he has to. That’s not a sign of love.

If the 5th year option wasn’t guaranteed I think McBeane would have to think long and hard about cutting Edmunds loose.

Sign me up for both Gronk and Engram. Give Josh a 6th OL in Gronk who’s also a red zone threat. And Engram can be a bigger version of mckenzie. Would love to get bigger and more physical at the skill positions.

Gronk is a completely different Tight End than Knox. If Gronk is signed, my guess is that would mean more 2 Tight End sets.

Would not surprise me if McBeane goes OL with 1st round pick. Dawkins, Kenyon Green/Zion Johnson, Morse, Williams after paycut, Brown, Gronk with Ford, Bates, Doyle as backups could be a good O-Line

Those are the type of guys worth taking a chance on like a Jordan Phillips. Instead of signing JAGs to $5m per year. Sign guys like Howard to vet minimum deals and let somebody else pay them next year when they get good.

Why would watson go to seattle? He has a no trade clause. I’d think Carolina would be prohibitive favorite for a trade.

I really hope McBeane surprises us all and goes for it. Weak tea moves so we’re in good salary cap shape 5 years from now while the usual suspects like the Rams and Chiefs load up salary-cap-be-damned would be extremely deflating.

Agreed. This is a gift dropping into Beane’s lap. You could get Wagner for probably half the cap hit of Edmunds this year. And separately I could see Seattle trading for Edmunds in a face saving move that sounds good trading for a young Pro Bowler to replace Wagner. Lockett for Edmunds. Let’s speak it into existence. Could you imagine getting Lockett and Wagner for the same cap hit as Edmunds?

By the time he realizes his potential in 5 years, Seattle might be good again.
