  1. Because he probably won’t be that expensive and upgrades 3 positions (returner, gadget WR, and RB)
  2. Oakland signed him for $5m in 2018. Based on the fact that he’s almost 4 years older and hasn’t played baseball since 2018, that number would be lower now. Maybe that gets offset by a Tebow effect now that he’s well known, but it’s not like the Mets made much money off people paying $20 to see Tebow in spring training or the minors. From a numbers standpoint it’s stupid to even talk about. He’d have to turn into a Mike Trout level player to approach what he’s almost guaranteed to make as a top NFL QB. And even then, Trout was a superstar by age 22. Murray wouldn’t even reach the Majors before he’s 27-28. The baseball ship has sailed.
  3. So Murray is gonna turn down $30m per year playing football to play baseball when he hasn’t played competitive baseball in 3 years? Baseball ain’t the type of sport you can just go back to unless you’re a pitcher that throws 100mph. It would take him 2-3 years minimum in the minors to get his swing back. Even then, there’s no guarantees he could even hit Big League pitchers.
  4. I really hope McBeane is thinking bigger. With Josh taking the leap to superstardom, free agents will want in. There will be a lot of upgrade opportunities and guys willing to play here for under market value. If Cordorelle Patterson means no Beasley or McKenzie, so be it.
  5. I’ll take Gronk for $7.2m over Barkley. Gronk is like a 6th OL and is also a chain mover and a red zone threat. He moves the needle more than Barkley. If we’re looking to improve at RB, there’s free agents who will be cheaper than $7.2m. Fournette, Melvin Gordon, Marlon Mack. Patterson might be cheaper than $7.2m.
  6. Fear of change. He must be doing something right as the MLB on a top defense. But you can’t pay every starter in the back seven $10m or more. He makes the least amount of game changing plays in the back 7 except for maybe Levi and Levi ain’t gonna get paid $12.7m per year.
  7. You’re probably right since comp picks by definition compensate you for losing something. But Lovie was still given the opportunity to be a coordinator by the Texans. By the spirit of the rule, I’d argue Texans still deserve the 2 picks.
  8. It’s a serious, non-troll question. There’s no reason they shouldn’t get 2 comp picks like the others who had minority coaches hired to head coaching duties. It incentivizes the same thing.
  9. Do the Texans get two 3rd picks? They should since Smith was with Texans last season and now he’s a head coach.
  10. Barkley wouldn’t fetch more than a 5th rounder, maybe a 4th.
  11. bona fide offensive weapons a stretch. Edmunds has most trade value out all 4 of them. And there’s no way Daboll doesn’t want Beasley to help out Jones.
  12. Edmunds and Beasley for Toney and Barkley. Get it done Beane!
  13. I think everyone would like Wallace back but it comes down to numbers and he deserves to get paid. Here’s an interesting question, who’s more replaceable Levi or Edmunds? Would you rather let Edmunds walk and draft his replacement early or let Wallace walk and draft his replacement early?
  14. This would seem to be easy decision. He’s not dependable.
  15. From strictly a numbers standpoint, you can’t have 2 safeties making $10m each, a CB making $17m, a slot CB making $7.5m, Milano making $11m, and now Edmunds making $13m and then Wallace making $9m. That’d be $90m on your back 7 starters. At some point you gotta get younger and cheaper back there.
  16. It would be a surprise if Bills don’t draft a CB in 1st round. There’s already a lot of money tied up in the secondary. That means no Wallace or any other free agent that ain’t making the minimum. And we do need some more speed back there.
  17. Jimmy G would be perfect fit for Cleveland. But Cleveland would probably have difficulty trading Mayfield. He’s more insurance commercial guy than QB at this point.
  18. Can McBeane take the next step and build a Super Bowl winner? A lot of free agents are gonna want in. Josh proved he’s a superstar QB. McBeane is gonna have to shed the JAG’s on the roster and go get some free agents who will put this team over the top.
  19. Hiring Flores has Roger and the other owners fingerprints all over it. Firing Culley was a bad look on so many levels. The Texans are a dumpster fire anyway. And the McNair’s have a history of questionable comments that could easily be viewed as racist. Time to take one for the team, Houston.
  20. Watching Addison, Hughes, and Epenesa chase Mahomes around was pathetic to watch. Cincy actually had some edge guys that could bother Mahomes and bring him down. And they had guys in secondary who could run with their WR’s. At a minimum, the Bills need an impact edge rusher and a DB with elite speed. I can’t see them trading Edmunds. Despite his lack of instincts he still possesses elite size and speed that rest of defense doesn’t have. Bills D needs some closers. I’ll trade the #1 statistical defense for a defense that has some individual guys that can make plays against elite offenses.
  21. Can’t see McBeane dipping into the high end of the WR market. On that list, Pringle would be intriguing to me. Speed guy who can return kicks. Upgrade to mckenzie. I also think a 1st round or 2nd round WR is definitely in play.
  22. I could live with 4 years $40m for Edmunds. If he wants more than that, then give him permission to find a trade partner. Stupid to have him play this year for $12.7m. That’s a big cap number and then he walks next year for nothing. Relying on a comp pick in 2024 depending on who we sign in free agency in 2023 isn’t worth the wait. Trade him now if he wants big money.
  23. Give me Gronk, Fournette, and a 1st Round WR with some speed/gadgetry and this offense ain’t gonna be stopped. Patterson would be great but think Bills could get more bang for their buck.
  24. Like anything in life, the more effort you put into something the better it is. In NYC area, pizza is the be-all, end-all. Nothing really compares. Just like Buffalo is with wings. Buffalo pizza is a nice compliment when eating wings, but doesn’t really compare to NYC area pizza.
  25. Always trade-offs. Between Hyde, Poyer, Tre, and Milano we got a lot of quality and experience in that back 7 and a lot of money tied up there. In a perfect world, I’d trade Edmunds for a 2nd rounder and draft his replacement in 1st 2 rounds. Then use that $12.7m towards a premier edge rusher.
