  1. I don't disagree with you, but Losman will then have the added pressure of being compared to Leinart his entire career. And who's to say the Bills will be able to trade out of the pick if Leinart is there? I just hope Leinart is not available when the Bills are on the clock.
  2. If Bills do indeed get the #3 pick, Leinart will be available. Houston and San Fran will not be taking a QB. Jets would take Leinart if they had the pick, but moving up to get him will cost them dearly on top of having to eat Pennington's contract. Bills would then be facing a huge dilemna that would make Flutie/Johnson seem like good times.
  3. Other coaches are smart too. There is only so many tricks you can run. Listen, I don't want to defend the Bills' coaches too much, but once the game settles down, you have to make something happen when the other team is familiar with what you are trying to do. It is the same reason the underdog's best shot in a boxing match is to go after the opponent early and hope for a KO.
  4. The fact that this team scores so often on the 1st drive is more reflective of adequate coaching and poor personnel. Teams adjust and then it is talent vs. talent.
  5. If whoever is running the team at the time cuts all these veterans, they better spend some money on their replacements. Perhaps Wire is finally ready to take over at SS. Even if Baker can't replace him, Vincent needs to go. Posey isn't that expensive so if you can't find a cheap alternative, he can stay. I'd like to keep Adams, but his attitude is so horrible and will probably prevent that. Villarial and Campbell are pink slip candidates. I'd like to keep Moulds and Mike Williams but obviously not at that number. As poorly as Clements has played, for $5m he is worth it for a year. Lesser CB's have gotten $10m+ signing bonuses, so for $5m it would be stupid to let him walk. If Moulds and Mike Williams re-structure, this team could be competitive if 3 stud lineman are added (2 DL -draft, 1OL - Bentley).
  6. If San Fran would have won against Jax, the Bills still could have gotten the 1st overall. If either one of Houston or San Fran wins next week, the Bills could still get the #2 overall. Green Bay will probably pull out at least one more win. However, New Orleans looks like a long shot for another win.
  7. The Bills offense was too busy running motions and re-sets that serve only to confuse the offense more than the defense and create a myriad of illegal shift, false starts, and too many men in the huddle penalties.
  8. When? He had great coverage on the Lelie 50 yard bomb. That was just an unbelievable catch. He also made a nice play on a fade in the end zone. Rod Smith beat him on comebacks a few times, but on that turf with that pass rush, that route was almost impossible to defend,
  9. Clements was bad. Just looks like his head isn't in the game. He's costing himself a hell of a lot of money. McGee looked like our best corner last night. Even when his man made a catch, McGee was right there. I don't want to lose Clements simply becasue that is one more hole to fill (if the franchise # is only $5m, then I would do that and see if he plays better next year, because it will cost more to replace him). I also thought our DT's played decently last night. The bigger problem was with the DE's and the pass rush. This team needs a stud pass rusher. Schobel holds his own but that is all the pass rush this line gets.
  10. I was going to post the same thing. Vincent should have been wearing a skirt out there. The Rod Smith TD was pathetic. Both players had an equal shot at the ball and Smith simply manhandled Vincent (the ball was tipped so all Vincent had to do was tackle Smith). The fumble in the 4th quarter was equally pathetic. The ball was right in his hands and somehow the Denver TE ended up with the ball (even Sterling Sharpe said the Bills have to have this ball). If Vincent is still starting after the coaches review the film, they are either idiots or have no balls.
  11. This Ngata scares me. Guys that big break down more easily. Yes, this team is in desperate need of big, athletic dudes on the line. But I'd go for a pass rusher with the early 1st round pick, preferably Mario Williams. Then, if Ngata, Wright, or one of the LT prospects hangs around in the 1st round, trade up to get them. This team has plenty of depth. It is in need of game changers on both lines.
  12. Losman tearing it up the last 3 games is about the only thing that would save both of them at this point.
  13. I couldn't agree more about needing a stud pass-rusher. Schobel is a good player but not a game changer. Plus, Williams from NC State is a big dude. That guy from BC seems too light for what this team needs right now. Use one of the early 3rd round picks to trade back up into the 1st round and Wright or Ngata will probably still be around by the late teens/early twenties. Use the other 3rd on a TE. And Ralph needs to open his wallet for Bentley (he will have to over-pay, but that is the stage the franchise is at).
  14. I like Easterbrook, but didn't Moulds start whining after the team was up 21 points and his under-study was the benficiary of 3 td passes?
  15. If he is still there at #3, the Bills would have to consider taking him. He has enough arm and enough mobility to succeed in the NFL. His intangibles and leadership are off the charts. The Bills would be in a good position because no one would deal with the 49ers at 2 because they can't take a QB and teams would know a deal could be had with the Bills at 3. It would be a nice position to be in. But somehow the Bills will manage to screw it up and win a game.
  16. I know it seems far-fetched, but this looks like the year he gets his title. He still has ties to the Buffalo area. Perhaps Ralph could get on his knees and beg that Polian right the ship.
  17. I don't think the Bills go with an OL in the top 5 because of the Ryan Leaf/Mike Williams syndrome. Too much money tied down to a position where they don't want to make the same mistake.
  18. In the Information over-load age that we live in, it is hilarious and disturbing at the same time how one outlet (Florio no less) writes something that is probably out of thin air and other outlets immediately run with it and start reporting it as well. It is getting to the point where despite their 'freedom of the press' cries, the media needs a regulatory watchdog. The current state of affairs mass produces stupidity in the population.
  19. In regards to Kiwanuka of BC and Williams of NCST, Williams has 25 pounds on him, and Schobel has showed to be a productive player at LDE. Schobel and Williams on the 2 ends would be nice. Then I'd like to see the Bills trade back into the middle of the 1st round and get a stud DT. On a side note, I think Donahoe's biggest problem as a GM is he acts like he is a portfolio manager at a mutual fund. He only looks for value. That works in the stock market but not in building a football team when you have needs that must be addressed and team chemistry to consider.
  20. I see GB beating Detroit at home this week. Then they are at Baltimore, home against Chicago(rivalry game), and then they have Seattle in the finale and Seattle could have home field wrapped up. So I see one win amongst those 3.
  21. they will probably have the #3 overall pick. The only teams I don't see the Bills passing are Houston and San Fran. That last game against the Jets will probably be worth a 5 position swing for each team. The ideal scenario would see the young players getting time and playing well, but still losing. Who do you go with - OT Ferguson or DE Williams?
  22. I'd really love to see the Bills get 2 stud linemen. Take the best DL or OL available with our top 10 pick. Then use the Travis 3rd rounder to move back up into the 1st round from the 2nd. Mario Williams in the 1st. Then move up and get Wright or Winston or Ngata.
  23. It seems kind of strange for a guy in the League 8 years, but his arm strength and athleticism seem greatly improved this year. He was always a great QB, but I never remember him having the zip on the ball that he has this year or being able to scramble for 1st downs.
  24. I don't think he is projected to be a 1st rounder, but I really like this Oshinowo kid, the DT from Stanford. He is playing well against ND. Reminds me of a young Pat Williams. He eats up at least 2 blockers every play and gets an excellent jump on the snap. I'd rather see 2 DL and a LB with the top 3 picks. I think OL are extremely risky picks in the 1st couple rounds. I'd rather see OL addressed in Free Agency.
  25. Whichever DL can beat Krumrie in thumb wrestling is who we will select. Drafting OL high is too much of a crapshoot. I'd like to see a guy like AJ Hawk in the 1st round and a DT in the 2nd.
