  1. Wouldn't cranking up a tip on the grossly inflated billable hours be a bridge too far?
  2. I’m not trolling, at least not from my perspective. I’m observing and conversing. You have applied rigid standards in one case, offered a “not offering excuses for her analysis” while offering excuses for her. As for applying the same standard, given your rationalization of the actions of Sotomayor, I can only assume that you mean, perhaps, at some future point?
  3. I’m going to be blunt with you. Your standard is different for individuals, and you really seem to care if they’re left or right.
  4. https://fixthecourt.com/2022/06/justice-sotomayor-amends-financial-disclosure-include-six-free-trips-previously-omitted/ Sotomayor…liar!
  5. If this an accusation, it’s a confession. It’s a confessucation.
  6. What always fascinates me is when a poster declares every accusation a confession, after making accusations with virtually every post. Fascinating like a science experiment.
  7. Then you should probably just start a thread that all SC justices are always conflicted.
  8. So, the massive amounts of money paid to SC justices from corporations isn’t the issue, it’s the paperwork? The only pretend smoke associated with this imaginary fire is from outside the chambers.
  9. I understand there are 50, maybe less for the timid.
  10. With luck, we can come together again, like we did in after the election in 2016.
  11. Thanks you Mupatisto, I appreciate the goodwill. Though, I must admit CKA calling me a dirty name came out of nowhere. Here I am just trying to have a discussion and presto-whamo the bad words fly. If you see her at the next girl meeting where you talk about French braids, Cindy Crawford moisturizer or other stuff, don’t tell her I’m angry, tell her I’m hurt. Then tell me what she tells you.
  12. This part of the saga could end, with the release of the remaining hostages as some including CKA has suggested. In the meantime, it sounds as though the hostages are held where significant casualties are incurred when rescue attempts are launched. That’s horrible. It’s a tragedy that it’s playing out like this.
  13. I think some gym time will do you good. You may have had your sleep number at 17 when you’re actually a 75…you woke up grumpy. It’s pretty cool how you had item #1 on the list in your Lululemon Everywhere Belt bag—I was getting worried you were completely dismissive of the suffering of the hostages—you barely/ never mention that…while picking at me for speaking about the hostages. Now that you’ve come around—let’s just reflect on our back and forth here—where fundamentally you agreed with my initial suggestion as outlined in Kay’s bullet point 1 (which is actually Kay’s bullet point 22, subsection A, paragraph 4) today, which was my bullet point 1 several days ago. From there, I’d think there is merit in some of your remaining bullet points. As for the fitness/well-being advice you’ve shared, thank you. I’ll consider it. On the other hand, I’m listening to Billy Joel at the moment, working around the house, and he tells us “It’s all about soul…a power of love and a power of healing”. I like that. Have a nice workout, and kudos to you on your flat summer tummy, or summy as they (maybe) say in Paupa New Guinea.
  14. From the ultra progressive angle, you have to wonder if the liberation of 4 captives is cause to celebrate, or mourn the loss of 4 individuals that Hamas might have used as bargaining chips in the larger picture and the Israeli hostile incursion? @Tiberius @ComradeKayAdams
  15. I try and use these opportunities to understand where people are coming from. Daz at least acknowledges the political aspects of some of these matters, which is half the battle. Others tend to take the road of “I don’t want to talk about THAT!”, which is convenient but ultimately part of the problem. In this case, Daz points out that “housing and lodging” for a SC justice is evidence of a conflict, so I’m wondering $900k from a corporation is potentially problematic for a judge he might be fond of. Or, a $12k freebie from Ticketmaster/Beyoncé. What seems clear to me is that with all the discussion on conflicts and conflicted people, while we mere mortals might debate, the Justices seem perfectly comfortable with everything that goes on.
  16. I think you’re probably correct—the number of extraordinarily wealthy lawyers/meth addicts trafficking in firearms while banging through meth like a bag of Fritos, losing track of the gun and having his brothers widow/slam puppy discard the gun in a shopping bag (recycled, so that’s a plus) near a middle school, offered a sweetheart deal on a number of different apparently criminal acts has to be in the tens of thousands. #freehunterbiden
  17. What’s your personal stance here, Daz. SC justices have received massive advances from corporate America (this article details a near million dollar payout for Justice Jackson), free tickets to premier venues of billionaire artists, gifted artwork, free travel/lodging/meals and substantial payouts by universities—and this article involves no significant deep dive into the true financial picture of any justice on the court. Why does Justice Thomas in particular earn your scorn here? https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/07/supreme-court-clarence-thomas-financial-disclosures-00162311
  18. Sounds like he works in the Intelligence Community. No way I’m falling for it twice!
  19. Again, though, Frank, I can see you buying the narrative—liberal, conservative or independent, what a story! I don’t want to be drawn in to some crazy story, dunk on you about guns, hookers, blow only to find out later the story was planted by a foreign govt. The problem here is the declaration made by American intelligence agents don’t get that pass, nor should they. They either collectively, in concert, spread disinformation or collectively, in concert are grossly incompetent. There’s no middle ground anymore, because the laptop is what it is. With respect to Natasha, she seems a capable and intelligent individual, and that’s enough, isn’t it?
  20. I believe our friend Frank is on record as stating that even he, as Atticus Finchy a mo'fo as you'll ever meet, was surprised by the whole outcome of that. Obviously, he wouldn't have access to some/all/any of the sources, technology, manpower, confidential sources, budget, associates of foreign agencies, data mining etc that hundreds and thousands of IC assets would, but like Atticus himself, old Frank can shoot a rabid dog in the street as good as any man. I may have gotten off track. What was the question?
  21. Respectfully, I don't read every post you share, here or on other sites. Going off of the last few days of posting, however, it seems clear you're comfortable with the continued victimization of hostages in the control of Hamas--whatever that entails. Sadly, what it entails is horrific--sexual assault, sadism, beatings, threats of death, and as it turns out, actual death. Regardless of what else you might feel or share, allowing that level of barbarism to continue with the ::wink wink" promise to release the rest later on ends the debate for me. Put that on your pie chart and smoke it. No, Kay, perspective is required here. Hamas releases the people they abducted, savaged, tortured, killed, and continue to hold. This isn't a business meeting between IBM and HP, a real estate negotiation or anything else. Helpful hint to you: Don't get turned around in the bright lights of misguided indignation, regardless of how righteous you believe it to be. Point of agreement here: Hamas is emboldened by people with your perspective. You're über-complicating the painfully simple. Return the hostages.
  22. Yes, that was my point with @Tiberius and his tweet from some rando lady named BlueCheck Jo. The issue was raised, addressed and an explanation provided. The 1/6 rioters have been tracked for several years, arrested and legal consequences have followed. If our law enforcement agencies were able to devote the time, effort and resources to crime that plague regular, non-political class citizens, our country would be a safer place. Be that as it may, Blue Check Jo is running the old false flag flim flam scam on you.
  23. I don’t know that the world was “collectively on Israel’s side” post 10/7. I see parallels between 9/11 and 10/7, mostly from the perspective that while the world is confusing, imperfect and incredibly dangerous, some people want other people eradicated. You seem to see that as a purely Israeli-created problem, I don’t. And, when it comes down to “us v them”, a nation most certainly should choose “us”. The incalculable pain, heartache, death and destruction in the Middle East is horrific on the side of the Palestinians and the Israelis. Israel plays a part in that. In exchange for Hamas releasing all the hostages….living, dead, traumatized, desecrated, Israel should acknowledge the hostages were returned and the condition they were returned in. They should tell the whole story, because we likely both agree that given the opportunity, Hamas would follow the same course of action across the nation—bringing that horror to every man, women and child in Israel. That’s it. That’s what Israel should agree to, though a step in the right direction would be to cease hostilities immediately. A ceasefire is in everyone’s best interest and should be pursued thereafter. Biden is well-positioned to lead the dialogue—rumor is he was speaking with Golda Meier just last month. If talks involves land swaps, prisoner swaps, financial settlements or whatever else might follow for the greater good, great. Finally, on FL, I can only tell you what the odds are. On gun rights, he would be rabidly anti-gun, yet frequently employ gun-toting security for personal protection. His feelings on eminent domain would be directly tied to his plan/desire to gain control of property that another person possessed and he wanted for himself. Sorry for the loss of childhood innocence, I was brokenhearted when OJ was on the lam.
  24. You and your gal pal in the X tweet, I guess.
  25. It’s interesting to me, given the totality of the events leading up to and post-COVID, how little people care about the facts. What seems to be established is that our government was partnering with a nation often hostile to our interests, experimenting with dangerous viruses, that it’s highly likely security/process was lax and that the virus was allowed to escape. It seems obvious thereafter there was substantial overreach, with recommendations and requirements that were untested and/or unlawful, and confusion about who should do what, where, when and why. Meanwhile, several years later, the full story has not been told. We did find that generally speaking, people will acquiesce as Fauci indicated.
