  1. In spite of some serious flaws with that characterization, I think the jury ends up voting that way. The folks watching the outcome closely will fall into two categories—those who think he was railroaded and found guilty of a crime he didn’t commit who will be disappointed, and the anarchists who have already demonstrated a sincere willingness to burn down &*$# and rage for extended periods of time. The govt already mobilized the national guard, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what a not guilty verdict will yield. In the end, it boils down to one man’s life v more anarchy and bloodshed.
  2. You are posing a 1/6 question to the wrong guy, but be that as it may: Nothing about this is "cool" to me. Seeing an American town being sacked, pillaged and burned by anarchists is a disgrace and the elected officials who allowed it to happen should be run out of town on a rail, preferably not to my town or anywhere in South Florida where I plan to spend winters in the not too distant future. Understanding that in spite of time, effort and scoodles of money spent by law-abiding citizens to run the town meant absolutely nothing when trouble came to call is disgraceful. Unfortunately, those left to fend for themselves must avail themselves of what's available to them in the moment. What strikes me as odd is that not long ago, a young lady was sexually assaulted on a train in Philly. The story goes that as the situation escalated from harassment to violent sexual assault in front of on-lookers, not one of the 15-20 people on stepped up to help her. Naturally, outrage followed and decent people everywhere likely asked themselves, "Jeesh, what would I do in that situation?". Well, no one really knows the extent of the violence and debauchery that occurred that night and on others like it across the country in the summer of 2020. As sure as night follows day, when anarchy reigns, bad %$#@ happens. In a sense, the talking heads (political and media) have suggested that the good people of Kenosha should have just sat back and let it happen, like those train passengers did when that young lady was assaulted. We saw an armed police officer gun down an unarmed civilian at the Capitol on 1/6. While suddenly for folks like you the fact that she was unarmed ain't a big thing while officers being targeted with knives, guns and force are supposed to just let it all happen or shoot 'em in the baby toe, I applied the same logic to that event as I try in every police shooting. In that case, I feel it was justified. I assume in your scenario, the private citizen doing the shooting on 1/6 would be faced with similar circumstances as Rittenhouse faced--other individuals intent on doing him serious bodily harm up to and including trying to end his life. In that case, I'd apply the same logic I am applying to the Rittenhouse case: 1. How frigging dumb to you have to be to insert yourself into a riot; 2. How frigging dumb in 2021 are you to threaten anyone at all with physical violence; 3. How frigging dumb in 2021 are you to assault another individual in an attempt to do him/her in; 4. How incredibly dumb are you to point as weapon at anyone, let alone in the middle of a massive riot; 5. While tragic for those who love you, your death should serve as a cautionary tale to those who would otherwise be similarly as frigging dumb as the departed; Under that scenario, I'd feel the same as I do today.
  3. Another win for the Prosecution per @Tiberius! It was a smokescreen charge!
  4. I’ve been uncomfortable with the “enemy of the people” phrasing. Collectively, on a national scale, the media certainly is the enemy of objective reporting.
  5. It’s perpetrator shaming, and it’s wrong.
  6. Sure, false information. 🙄. The CIA, the organization that Chuck Schumer ominously declared has six ways to Sunday to get ya, they fed poor Colin Powell false information, but were the good standard of intel on Trump etc. 🙄 John Brennan, CIA director emeritus declared Trump guilt of treason, and gosh darn it, it didn’t quite turn out that way but the media rode with it. 🙄 That doesn’t bother you, Alf? Oh, and It doesn’t bother you in the least that in W Bush’s last year or two in office, Obama, Biden and dem leadership painted him as a man who sent young men and women to die in a war of his own making, a war for oil, a war for profit🙄….and Powell gets a free pass for being duped so easily or culpable in the war, and now W Bush and Obama are like peas’n’carrots? 🙄 That W Bush is now portrayed as kindly old Beepaw Bush, the painter in chief, grandpoppa du jour on NBC news? 🙄 Trump owed Colin Powell nothing. But geesh…look who was there. Obama. Bush. Biden. All had special access. All sins forgiven, even the part about Bush steam rolling foreign lands in pursuit of profits and Powell taking heat for it. It’s almost like…a fairy tale of Establishment insiders.
  7. The funds going to Baltimore will wet many, many beaks before a dime of it ever goes to upgrading or modernizing anything. In the meantime, we should look at the city of Baltimore and see if there are any other issues plaguing the folks there…..
  8. Bannon isn’t prosecuting a case, silly. He’s the target of a political operation, we’ve already agreed on that. I think we’ve agreed that he may ultimately be held accountable for his contempt of Congress, perhaps including going to jail. Finally, I think we agree that outside dog n pony Washington politics, if Bannon engaged in criminal activity leading up to the criminal events on 1/6, he should be held accountable. Beyond that, I have no idea what you’re talking about with respect to injuries, OAN and Newsmax. What, in your view, does it look like when Bannon complies? Now, you’ve mentioned the committee actions and request for testimony, documents and truth. What documents do Steve Bannon and Mark Meadows have in their possession that have apparently eluded federal, state or local law enforcement agencies to this point? Please, be specific. As for the Kavanaugh case, I wanted to get some sense of your standards as it related to other partisan political operations. Thanks for the reply.
  9. I’m neutral on the charges. I’m a realist, the party in power pushes forward on issues they know appeals to their base, the party out of power resists. The party in power would object to the other party proceeding on the same grounds and so on. I think if you look at the charges filed, and the reaction to them as some sort of grand purity test, you’re naive. I believe Bannon should fight, argue, condemn, litigate, trash talk and do anything in his power to resist. Why? That’s what those people do. Plus, it appeals to his base, whatever that might be, just like the political charade appeals to you. Were you ok with the public disembowelment of Brett Kavanaugh? It was a slam dunk obvious that it was a case of innuendo, manipulation, and character assassination.
  10. I’m with you on this one CJ. He used the word that came most natural to him, and as @Irv pointed out, his pre-cognitive impairment days were filled with racially insensitive comments. Now, I certainly can understand if his explanation is that the word he used was not meant to be derogatory, or if that’s the word he and his friends and fellow Dems grew up on they meant no disrespect, but Biden is who he has always been. Personally, I think that is part of his appeal to a large segment of dem voters (some likely here), those who want progress, aesthetically speaking, but not too much progress.
  11. Cheney…Cheney…where have I heard that name before?
  12. The imagination comment had nothing to do with the political spectacle unfolding, and perhaps Bannon goes to jail for contempt of Congress (the list is long for those who have contempt for the institution), rolls over, and fesses up to leaving the side window at the Capitol unlocked and takes responsibility for the incomprehensible lack of security and police presence that (or any) day. In my opinion, the wrong questions are being asked, but it serves the appetite for grist from the mill. If so, or if a criminal case can reasonably prosecuted in a non partisan fashion, I’ll gladly stand beside you and cheer Bannon’s incarceration. In the meantime, you seem to be of the opinion that no one else can see what amounts to a political spectacle of the scorched earth variety. Not all that long ago, your crew attempted the public evisceration of a man with 30 years of dedicated public service with the same sort of innuendo, distortions and media manipulation. His crime was he held different political views and was nominate by the wrong President. For his crime(s), complete and utter destruction of his reputation in front of his wife and two daughters, and when he defended himself as any of us should, he was labeled as unstable. Theres no denying it can work, for her attempts to destroy Kavanaugh, a wildly unpopular presidential candidate was given the 2 nd most powerful seat in the land. Oops—I broke the 10 month rule. So, my simple assertion is that while you use those long arms of yours to pat yourself on the back, you’ve hardly cracked the DaVinci Code.
  13. You went from bad to worse, Daz. I can read, I understood the posts (although you apparently struggled a bit), and you’ve spun quite a narrative in this latest post. I’ll say this—Mr. and Mrs. Daz Senior’s lad has quite an imagination! I’ve come to believe that it’s best to let law enforcement figure out these details, at least to the extent senior law enforcement can be trusted. These dog and pony tribunals are a farce.
  14. Between you and BackIn arguing the same side of the coin on page 1 and 2, watching the light bulb go off that you’re on the same side on page 2, your soliloquy on political operatives politicking for…truth 😉, and your 10 month senate statute of limitation on what can be discussed, you’re a mess. Stick to the script.
  15. …that target selected groups or classes of people while ignoring tens of millions of others….
  16. There's something about that lady I just like.
  17. You're advocating for a(nother) crime against democracy. You already got your balls slapped around for believing in RUSSIA©, THE MUSICAL sponsored by The Real D, why do you keep letting them humiliate you like this?
  18. You know who catches that ball? Dalton catches that ball.
  19. While this is no time in our history for run on sentences, nothing feels more like integrity than a partisan political tribunal setting the table for a partisan criminal investigation.
  20. I don’t mean this to sound callous or apathetic, but it flat out amazes me that so many of these Rock icons lived as long as they did. They traveled extensively, likely ate pretty crappy food, hit everything that moved, and rumor has it some were into alcohol and drugs on a massive scale.
  21. I have POWER RANKINGS as follows: 1. Christopher Steele 2. Ukrainamania 3. Biden...Fart Machine? 4. Egg Salad but NOT Deviled Eggs 5. Big Bird
  22. Hap, I’m a lot of things, but if I use someone else’s work I acknowledge it. It seemed a very natural comment upon reading what you wrote and I was surprised you didn’t hit it when you teed it up. I actually checked the 7 or 8 posts that preceded mine to be sure no one had said it. Ironically, my initial post was corrected from Darnold to Darnell… I had to edit a 5 word post. 🤣 🤙
  23. Mods, please move to PPP.
  24. Darnold can’t even complete a fracture?
