I’m not arguing the physicality of it. I’ll think they’ll give it a go in the spring if they can’t play in the fall, though, for economic reasons

I think Red Tails would be really cool. Snyder trademarked "Bravehearts" a couple of years ago, though, so that's my bet. -

The other two guys defeated the intellectual standard bearer of the alt wrong here. But I’ll add that two wrongs don’t make a right. So even if Fauci erred, that mistake is no excuse for Trump’s continued recalcitrance on the mask issue. -

I appreciate the difference. As the intellectual standard bearer of the alt wrong community, however, I'm sure that you can appreciate that focusing on a highly effective preventative measure of minimal cost, minimal intrusion, and maximum efficacy would be a much better approach than pursuing a post hoc rationalization for misplaced faith in a marginally effective treatment for a marginal number of infected persons. -

You know what would be much, much more positive? Not chasing a maybe marginally-effective wonder drug and instead wearing our masks! *** But of course the occupant of the oval can’t be bothered with that. It’s only the silver bullet for this thing. It’s just not manly enough for him. Instead we’ll worry about the marginal effectiveness of HCQ. Spend our time wringing our hands about the 4% of sick exceptionally sick people we can help instead of encouraging them to endure in the very minor inconvenience that odds overwhelmingly say would have prevented them from becoming sick in the first place. -

What, you don’t believe it’s going to magically go away? You’re the intellectual standard bearer of these parts, so I’ll follow your guidance on matters such as the question whether it’s a good idea to wear a mask during a pandemic of respiratory illness. I know the Don thinks it’s unnecessary, but I’m curious what you have to say on the issue. Hong Kong disagrees. -

Good news. I just threw my mask in the trash. Gotta be like the Don. It’s probably just illegal immigrants who are getting the virus in the south, anyways. update: mask has been burned. No need for it. We have this under control. It’s going to magically go away. -

You’re right. This myopic focus on Mike Flynn who, by the way, admitted his guilt, should prevail over such things as an exploding pandemic, a teetering economy, crippling unemployment, and the Russian dangle sitting in the Oval Office doing nothing about any of it. But let’s worry about friggin’ Mike Flynn and these alt-right whack job issues. That’s what matters now. Mike friggin’ Flynn. -

Fake news. Trump said he would built a wall: “That is why we support building a wall along our southern border and protecting all ports of entry. The border wall must cover the entirety of the southern border and must be sufficient to stop both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.” So now am I to believe that the “big, beautiful wall” actually is a bunch of Mexicans wandering around the border area? I think not. Trump feels the same way. It’s very clear that he spoke of a physical structure (that he has yet to deliver). For example: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-visit-border-wall-san-diego-ca/ Speaking of “nothin’,’” tomorrow is the first of the month. I, and the other taxpayers on this board, would appreciate it if you did not spend the public assistance monies you will receive tomorrow on MAGA merchandise. Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/30/goldman-sachs-says-a-national-mask-mandate-could-slash-infections-and-save-economy-from-a-5percent-hit.html I wonder if the “business Trump” crowd finally will catch on. -
So what did he mean? Or was it another trump hoax?
-
Hoax. You’re the one who misunderstands it. I believe “entirety of our southern border” is the phrase that pays. Also, FYI, Jesus was a brown migrant. So chew on that when you try to square separating migrant parents from migrant children with your “Christian” beliefs. Nope. I’m not interested in your whataboutism. Trump promised a wall covering the entirety of the southern border. So he either failed and is a loser, or he lied. Nothing much else to say on that one. Based on this response, it appears that you believe that he lied. “He didn’t set out to lie” implies that, although not initially intended to lie, he eventually lied. Thanks for playing!
-
So then he lied in 2016. Got it.
-
Hoax. It’s in the 2016 Republican platform.

Because the funding mechanism is illegal and I believe in the rule of law. Because I don’t believe a sea-to-sea wall is about border security. It’s about xenophobia. And because I believe the wall will soon prove ineffective. I watched Narcos. Those dudes are smart. But in all seriousness, nobody that I know is against a wall in an urban place, like San Diego or Yuma or Nogales. (I’ll qualify that by saying that El Paso probably is a different story, but I don’t know anyone with “skin” in the El Paso issue.) I have a major problem with a wall disrupting Big Bend National Park. It’s unnecessary and stupid. The financial and ecological costs aren’t worth the minimal benefit (assuming there is a benefit) a wall would provide in remote areas. So my problem isn’t with a smartly-done wall. It’s with a sea-to-sea wall that supports xenophobia and that does not protect Americans.
