Coy Wire....if he hasn't lost anything
BillsWatch replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Coy Wire had one of those injuries doctors debate on severity and whether he would be risking further injury to play anymore. A Falcon fan asked me why we got rid of him since he thought he was playing very well and I told him it was not his play but changes in the team looking for younger LBs who stay healthy. -
To all those who said Peters would be ready to play

The only way he knows it is Mickey Mouse did when he was given chance to wash his balls personally. -

Maybe Kirk Chambers can be the next Pro Bowl tackle if he had same opportunity as Peters did replacing a whiffing starter. He was a UDFA too. -
Interesting observation from the game
BillsWatch replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was a long list of people who thought Kirk Chambers was a waste of space and the front office had Matt Millen brain impact last year. Where are the comments now? Maybe THEY had the brain impact and ought to let professionals do their job or go work for ESPN. -
So what is Reed becoming a punching bag?
BillsWatch replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The game I remember most regarding Reed is that game in New England where everyone appeared to give up but he took the ball bouncing off LBs and CBs like a RB for 20 to 30 yards into the endzone. People (talking heads) were talking after game like that run/pass was impossible and Ronnie Lott in particular was giving him big kidos as a tough bastard. -
Slight correction: Trent Edwards is the QB for the Buffalo Bills who haven't won a division title since 1995. Edwards was never on a team which won a division title.

So what is Reed becoming a punching bag?
BillsWatch replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at the opener and he took down one of the Seahawks LBs on a running play. The guy must have outweighed him by 50 pounds and when he got up he was looking at Reed like he was crazy to get mixed up with him. Next play Reed blocked him again. I guess it is hard to take the RB out of the WR even when the WR was converted from a RB 9 years ago. -
Bruce was always very modest....
BillsWatch replied to JoeFerguson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not one comment about his fellow DE Phil Hansen who took some pressure off Bruce. Yes Bruce was the star but if Hansen had not caused pressure from other side Bruce would have had a lot more blockers shifting more to his side. -
In all three games DBs or LBs have taken to punching him in the face. In game 1 he traded punches after wards and no penalty was called. In game 2 he basically walked away. In game 3 (which I did not see) he is punched and DB is thrown out of the game. Reed is a very physical blocker but these punches seem out of character for so many players in a short period.

Schobel 33 Sacks Short Of 100. A Rare Milestone
BillsWatch replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bruce also went to the playoffs a number of years which meant he had more games to get sacks in and more support than Aaron has. -
Places to get jerseys Framed
BillsWatch replied to Bills_Fan_In_Illinois's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All framing shops are the same. I originally was going to take my Tasker one to be framed but I listened to those working in shop and they were letting the person with least experience do it and when the trainee said "What happens if I make a mistake?" the trainer stated "Don't worry we do it all the time - we know how to cover it up.". Not really inspiring that conversation. -
If we did not have a decent swing tackle at the time his absences would have been noticed more by rest of the league.

JP is a salvageable QB with talent. A team will need to make him the backup for a while, learn the correct decisions to make and have the system be right for him however. I hope THIS year holding the clipboard is helping him to learn to make better decisions.

Upcoming Week's Jack-in-the-Box Play
BillsWatch replied to Whites Bay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a Raiders game so the erotic play needs to involve leather, lace and chains. Actually all football games include leather (football), lace (shoes) and chains (sideline) but you know what I mean. -
There were a lot of lame comments about Jauron and DBs (i.e. perfect team for him is 2 DTs and 9 DBs) but maybe with the defense they have planned they knew they would be using 2 LBs a lot? Personally I'd be happier if we could do a trade for another LB before trading deadline but no one pays me to coach football.
-
From what I was saw on TV the DB/LB (did not get the number) slugged Reed after Reed objected after contact outside 5 yards resulting in Reed returning hits. Not much was brought up regarding it and no penalty even the dreaded offsetting penalties were called. Anybody hear what it was about from someone beside CBS?

I wasn't bashing the coaches and I feel the same thing about bashing as I did before - it is an waste of time and electrons. I think Losman can be a good backup and with time can do what Gannon did find a coach which can utilize his skills and hide/coach out his weaknesses but methodical, high completion percentage game may never be his strong suit.

No MNF. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3585348 Ravens and Texans get bye week this week. Texans home game against Ravens is now Nov 9 Texans home game against Bengals is now Oct 26. Five sections of Texans roof are gone or collapsed due to Ike. This will inconvenience a number of fans (Bengals fans are probably wondering why they were roped into this rather than another team) but something has to be done.

The Most Balanced Team in Football.
BillsWatch replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference between Jaguar's offense this year and last is the QB - last year he was not throwing the interceptions at the wrong time and was very efficient. -
What doesn't?

This a play they probably rehearsed again and again like they did the Moorman-Denney TD. It was the one play designed for him so the rest of the game he was in just another WR in the pattern.
