I do cook, almost every day, and I have way too many great dishes to list Having said that, made a pizza tonight in the cast iron..and oh my lord was it awesome! Was coming here to post in the pizza thread, but now this one popped up. The absolute opposite of Buffalo pizza, this was thin, crispy , and all kinds of awesome! BTW, I would say my absolute best dish is a Pork Pernil.

My Pops had colon cancer at age 70 or so? Lived to be 84, did not die from the cancer. Her age is a big plus, are they doing surgery? A Dr Phillaseti (sp) was my dads surgeont, Pops always called him "his Italian Brain Surgeon"

If you really like to watch hockey, you should investigate getting Directv. Can't remember the last time I watched a game in Standard Def, maybe 8-10 years ago? I have seen this complaint from Center Ice subscribers on cable providers, but never on DTV. And in this thread, this post reminded me when I was first really researching buying an HD TV in maybe 2003.It was way more important to compare how the TV did with standard def, as only about 10% of ALL content was in HD, including sports. Had to force stores to switch on cable instead of their HD content..they wanted you to think if you bought the TV everything would be in HD..and the honest sales guys would tell ya so many people would return a TV when they realized hardly anything was in HD. BTW, I was SOOOOOO proud of the fact I was not an early adopter and waited jumping into the HD pool till I got a screaming deal on 46" in DLP for only $4200!!!!!! I mean the idiots buying Plasmas were paying $10K..how much lower than $4200 could TVs go right?

prolly old advice, and not sure if relevant anymore, but think my main TV looks so good still cause I paid the $150 back then to have it professionally calibrated in the room where it still sits. Worth every penny

I started working for Bay Area/Valley companies in the mid 90's. The transformation the tech money has brought to the city is undeniable..some good, some bad. Still love the city, but will most likely never work for a company based in the Bay area again. Too much hypocrisy/hyperbole/hero worship for me at my advanced age..fug it

I know nothing about Tops or the grocery business, so take this at face value. But i see that Tops and it's union was very concerned about about Tops ability to continue to fund the pension contributions. Always amazes me when i see companies still fund pensions. I think the only time i see pensions still employer funded is in union shops. Again, no clue if true or not, but could part of the reason Tops finds it so hard to compete vs Wegmans is unionized shop.vs a non Unionized Wegmans?

Funny this thread came up today...just found out yesterday Eddie Gadowski died on Christmas Eve this past year. Everybody in the Falls knows this guy was the best bartender ever. Had Fish and Pierogis every Friday at Gadowskis growing up..what a guy RIP Eddie

BTW, my uncle, Larry Keller, was one of the original guys in Tops. He owned a few in the Falls, as well as 2 or 3 BKwiks . He and Al DiMino(mentioned in the story) were partners and very tight! I spent a week with those guys and Al's son on a week long fishing trip on their Chris Craft Cabin Cruiser through the St Lawrence. I was about 13, had to do all the nasty jobs on the boat, as well as fetch those guys beers and drinks all day!
