Who else is going to the Bills / Titans game??
plenzmd1 replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
almost always will, but you do have to be patient..and by patient i mean Saturday before the game. Can not guarantee, but my gut is this time of summer is when prices are the highest..everyone making their plans, gettin their airbnb, and they just want to get tickets to get it out of the way. And the folks selling the tickets have no worries on their end they might be stuck with the tickets. Be patient, there are ALWAYS tickets available..to every game!! One PSA, we are looking for tickets to VaTech-Notre Dame, put in a price alert on Stubhub..that was a freaking mistake. First 3 emails i got saying "your tickets to Notre Dame are available" , only to click the link and get"well not your tickets, but tickets are going fast, you may want to by these" and have $300 seats highlighted. Alert turned off now -

I hate you and summer more than ever, and i never thought that possible!!! -
I have seen the argument that for a steak some juice escapes in the cutting board and ends up just being wasted, where if you cut right away on your plate, juices are on you plate, you rub the steak in them leke an au jus..no juice wasted that the key no? You can go to Wegamns and get a dry age steak fro $26/lb...but have to have @mead107 money to do that

why not sous vide? if thick enough(over an inch) really try the reverse sear

i must say i do not know why, but was thinking this was more of a bar type tailgate. But damn, just hit me bars may not be open Sunday morning. Augie you should know that..whats the earliest you have gotten a drink Sunday morning in a bar? i go with a bunch of youngins, so job one for me Sunday morning is getting good, greasy food and 8 oz of milk in all their guts before any drinking commences. Last year in Green Bay I made everyone an awesome breakfast sammy, but that was kinda pain in the tuchus. This year will be an egg, sausage and french toast casserole made the night before that can just be heated up in the AM. We will have plenty for Augie and son! Will also have big pot of coffee to get everything moving in the right direction early, will prolly want to make sure all business is done before we head out! Then i was thinking combination of bars and tailgates for the 4 hours or so -
well, said it was a great night..like any financial institution cash transactions over $10K need to have ID..no tax involved, not reported to IRS etc, more to prevent money laundering

big roast coming out of oven, boston butt out of smoker....30 minutes to even an hour for residual cooking to finish and juices to redistribute steak cooked traditional way..needs 5, 10 at most A sue verde or reverse sear? Needs nada..having said that as i mentioned above i give it 5 minutes as some moisture will be visible on the surface after that, and i want as dry as steak as possible for a great sear
-
Oh contraire my frere. Even at 125, some small moisture will go through to the outer walls, and a dryer steak produces better sear! Pat like crazy to get dry. Your first rest is fine, again no foil needed. Second is not needed at alll, and may hurt crust if cover in foil i love these guys..great read on reverse sear. https://www.seriouseats.com/2017/03/how-to-reverse-sear-best-way-to-cook-steak.html and @Seasons1992, if you insist on searing first, or even for that matter reverse searing, i highly recommend one of two methods 1) charcoal chimney filled to the brim, grill grate resting on top lit, when at its absolute hottest ..steaks for about 30 second per side. Temp on that steak will be above 1000, as close to a salamander as you can get at your house. Will get you a nice crust across the entirety of the steak, not just where it it hits the grill grates 2) put your cast on the grill fro 20 minutes at top temp. Then sear. aagin, the flat surface will provide a crust across the entire steak, noy just where the grill grates are located One last misconception to dispel..cast iron heats up uniformly! Unequivocally wrong. Cast iron heats up with huge disparities in temp across the pan. P{arts right over flame will be huge hot spots. Cast must be warmed for a period of time to provide uniform temperature. Now, it will hold that temp like a mofo, and that is the real beauty of the material For a steak sear, i start it in a cold oven and turn on pre heat to 500. When over gets to 500, pan should be good to go.

Reverse sear on the green egg truly is my favorite method when i have the time to get fire to temp..(35-45 minutes) I will tell you a pice of meat we love is the Flat Iron steak. 60 minutes in an Olive Oil, dry mustard, rosemary, garlic marinade, grilled directly over a foil packet filled with mesquite chips, fresh home made chimichuri...just delicious..tender like a filet but with enough fat to have a really satisfying taste And Kroger often has hem on sale from $5.99 to $7.99 lb, they freeze and thaw great...really is my 2nd favorite steak now Like all that except two things. 1) Pat steaks dry like crazy after first rest 2) no need for second rest at at all. Putting them in the foil could continue the steam the meat past the desired temp, as well as make any good crust you have developed in the sear possibly soggy.

i go back and forth on National Harbor. I seem to have good luck there, but if i am there it is usually on a weeknight, sometime only 1 crap table open, and sometime i have seen a $50 minimum ...i be a pass line and come better..but i aint putting $50 on the line to start my night..that means i got two numbers most likely, and $400 on the table if i want to max my odds.....no thanks. I guess they figure thay get a ton of uneducated money that does not understand odds and the role of maxing out on them plays...but it is a solid no for me. And then blackjack...too many 6-5 tables in that place, have to hunt down the 3-2 tables and sometimes wait for a spot to open at the $25 tables, which is what i like to play. Understand the industry has gone don the 6-5 path..it sucks but you can still find 3-2 tables if you hunt them out at the casino you are in.

This did make me laugh!!!! -
Yoy really are an idiot that believes in old wives tales aren't you. Only two ways to do a 2 inch steak is 1)Sue Vidae...but i will grant that may be too hard for you to figure out 2) Reverse sear..put that sucker in a 200 degree oven( even better on a grill), on a wire rack in a rimmed baking sheet and cook for 45 minutes or so..till 125. Take out , let rest for 5 minutes for some liquids to surface, pat dry like a mofo with paper towels, then do your screaming hot cast iron with butter thyme etc. Results on this method same as Sue Vidal...perfectly red edge to edge, no grey.. searing first over high heat for a steak that thick is so early aughts

Had not thought about that..but you are prolly spot on! Damn, I was thinking about getting their DVR for cord cutters...but holy moley the ads I would get for historical trips and books etc would drive me nuts..I like the gambling and girlie ads I get now!!!

I am a huge PBS/ American Experience guy. Chasing the Moon is a 3 parter that is airing now on the space program..cool as hell! Also, Amazon Prime now also has the Chinese Exclusion Act..new this month to Amazon. Excellent as well, but long at almost 3 hours..relevant in today's climate I think -
I go to casinos..all over the Eastern US when i am traveling for business. Biggest night i had was in Omaha of all places...had a great run at the crap table that started with $200 and when i cashed out had to show ID for the cashout, was only midnight so sat at the black jack table and when left the table at close to 3AM had to again show ID..great freaking night that will prolly never happen again!!! BTW, strictly a craps/blackjack guy...craps always first

BTW, should prolly be another topic If you criticize Israel or policies of the US that favor Israel, dos that make you anti semitic? -
OKay, just listened..and nothing changes with this guy 1) right in and subtly blamed injuries for the Jags last year 2) talked about why he did not hire Seam McVay at SU,,it was because the coach on Marrones staff who recommended McVay..he did not like and so McVay was not hired. Throws a snide remark how he had to deal with that coach in mid year..implying he fired him. So all this coaches fault, not Marrones LOL 3) Talked about how as coached need a thick skin..you should expect the media to be rough on you, its the profession they chose..if ya cant take the criticism dont coach. LOL, wasn't the story here about how it drove him crazy his 8-7 record did not get him anointed here by the press and contributed to him leaving? Nothing else really,,Marrone be Marrone

he has said every one of those things..every single one . I agree it was not about 4 random people, it was about women of color who ancestry is either African or Middle Eastern..it was targeted , on that we agree what cha waitin for? Thank you for the thoughful reply 1) we will disagree that one must mention race to write/speak a racist idea. "Go back where they came from" breeding concept" are statements most would say are racist statements, no mention of color.Have you ever heard anyone else say "breed" about humans having children. I see you said they they come here to have children, not they come here to breed. 2) And i must apologize to @leh-nerd skin-erd and you, and the board as it does seem i was wrong and it was Tucker Carlson who said the immigrants were "dirty"..nit Trump. That is my mistake -
