My alma mater, up until 1976, was an all-girls school. When I went there five years later, the ratio of women to men was 12-1 and it was a four-year fugfest for anyone with testosterone. I'm not quite sure why you feel that an all-girl college is filled with a bunch of offensive linemen. Unless you think they're all a bunch of butch dykes, in which case...well...you are soooooooo wrong.

So you think inserting a guy who has never, ever, ever played at the speed of an NFL game will provide more decisive and quicker reactions. I suspect you're right. He would decisively get knocked on his ass quicker than Drew did.

I never watched him at Tulane. I've only read, and there has been a lot of talk about what took place there. Was he running for his life all the time? Was it lack of an offensive line? Receivers? In the wrong conference?

I saw him in that, too, but I don't remember the show. I think it was the one with Jamie Gertz. He looked terrible in a brief cameo at the end. Way underweight from how I remembered him. I was told the other day he was in a coma. Breaks your heart to see a personality like that pass on.

They commented during the game last night that the league would likely suspend him four games, but here's my question: This is something that happened long before he was in the NFL, but that they only recently had enough of a case to charge him. If it happened before he was in the NFL, why would they suspend him? If you start suspending people for stuff they did in high school or college, we may as well close up shop and look forward to the all-women's NFL.

Great post, Simon. The truth of the matter is there will always be those fans who B word and moan and cry because they're tired of the frustration. Count me in as one of them. But then there are the fans who B word and cry and moan because somehow they MUST have a winner right now and will never respect the one simple truth that the ONLY way you come to appreciate a winning team is to live with that team when it's losing. We're changing who is playing guard and we're changing number 2 receivers and we're tweaking a bit here and changing a bit there, and now we got the injury bug and we're going to have to spend time dealing with that, as well But I'm amazed how quick people are to ignore ANY attempt at progress for the sake of two things: the need to always blame someone for something, and the need to hear themselves talk regardless of what is spewing from their TomTV pieholes. (Really appreciated the Willy Wonka reference.)

As it has always been...so shall it always be. As it turns out, Barry, some of us read everything you write, regardless how long it is. For as long as you've been on this board, your posts have always been lengthy, but always...always...of value. Why anyone would find it necessary to tell you how to post is beyond me. Valuable posts should always be welcome here, regardless of length. If you were blabbering about nothing all the time...then yes, Cliff Notes would be appropriate.
