  1. Great post John, I'm on board with ya... I find it funny that people say "when will this team learn to win", IMO, THIS team is just getting started - you had three first time starters on the O line, a rookie TE, a back up running back, a back up LB. This team *ain't* last year's team, it's a whole new beast. I think that by the end of the season (barring tons of injuries) we'll be a force to be reckoned with... As for the fluke ending, yes it happens far to often to the Bills, but it happens. That's the game of football. Rather than crying because we lost we need to do the same thing the players need to, stand up, brush ourselves off and get ready for next Sunday! Go Bills!!
  2. Well said, I love your barometer for the team. I say we'll be a solid force by the end of season - let this young O line develop, get the O in synch and say a small prayer on D
  3. Totally agree. Funny that people are calling this "the worst loss ever", no first game of the season is the "worst loss ever" with this franchise. Trust me, losing the first game is easier than losing the LAST game of the year...
  4. murra, I'm on board! That was a hell of game that should show this team that they can play with ANY team in the league. One game does not a season make, but losing by 1 (from some rookie mistakes and, well, Leodis) to the Pats is a hell of a start...
  5. SO true. That stop on 4th down was a thing of beauty!
  6. Damn, we missed a couple opportunities, but they're looking decent at least!
  7. FINALLY - I've waited, like, years to see that!
  8. crappy spot. We're getting *some* pressure at least...
  9. Here we go boys!
  10. Jebus - Bruschi and Matt Millen on one pre-game show. Ouch.
  11. I hate to say it, but the Jests look solid. Of course it's week one and all of that, but still Sanchez looks impressive and the D has been getting after Houston... And, to be fair, Peters has been having a nice game too.
  12. Another false start on Peters. lol.
  13. Ha - I flip over to catch "False Start #71"
  14. This Jets / Texans game has been pretty hard hitting so far. We might be in trouble with the Jets rush, me thinks. Almost a huge mistake by Sanchez! Haven't had a chance to check the Philly game - but I will Jason, I will...
  15. I liked Collinsworth, he knows the game and calls people out when the should be. Yes he was gushing over Ben and his ability to keep plays alive and move D's with the pump fake, but those two things were exactly what won the game for the Stillers. The only issue I took is when he insisted that Ward should have taken a knee down near the goal line in the 4th quarter before he fumbled. Hines is not the type of player that just going to "go down" he's going to try and score everytime and the majority of the time he's not going to drop that ball...
  16. He had 3 catches - let's not go crazy just yet, how did last year's WR pick Limas Sweed look last night? Players take time to develop, that's just the nature of the game...
  17. wow - strange game...
  18. Holy crap, Polamalu is on fire!
  19. they got whooped on that last play, Ben was smart enough to get down though...
  20. Pittsburgh is running the old school endzones - just white diagonal stripes, no logo, no nothing. There was a great piece on "Steeler Nation" on NFLN. though *I* bleed Red, White and Blue (the good blue too, not that new one), you have to respect the city, fans and the team. I've had enough fun in that town to know there are some good peoples there...
  21. Is anyone watching NFLN? Ocho Cinco gave a dead freaking classic interview - that guy's a little crazy and completely funny... Uh yeah, I'll be watching.
  22. Or maybe it was because: - Walker was too fat - The tempo was too slow - The plays being called often made no sense for the situation (see crossing routes one game, none the next) - The calls were coming in from the Coord way too slow - The formations tipped the D off to the play - The O Coordnator wanted to run HIS show, not the coaches - It sounds like AVP is actually getting input from the positional coaches and players where is sounds like Turk wasn't - Under Turk the plays didn't call for downfield passing, under AVP they do (or so says T.O.) Did I miss anything?
  23. I really like the quote: “I think the biggest change I’ve seen is the speed of the offense,” said Jackson. ”We’re moving a lot faster with the no-huddle, I think we’re getting plays off seven-eight seconds faster than we were before and I think a lot of the guys are buying into it. We know what we’re doing now.” This must mean that they're actually getting called and to the field a lot quicker - I'm over watching Trent look at the sidelines for the play, then have to call it and get it off at the last second! AVP could really be The Man in Buffalo this year...
