  1. Exactly! I tell that story all the time which totally dates me (unlike my gray hair). We were happy to steal a playboy or watch Porky's to see some muff, now kids look at stuff that I didn't even realize was possible. lol. Back on the book subject (and just as far off topic) I also picked up the book Buffalo Lockjaw this weekend. Really enjoyable and TONS of Buffalo and Bills references, another one worth reading...
  2. And now all the kids are spoiled with the free Interweb porn - little bastards...
  3. I'm shocked - Oui for a classy guy like you Skoob... Forgot to mention in my original post, this book is also a good glimpse at Shanahan (for those clammoring for him) and his dictator style. I know that people hate Jauron's rep as a "players coach", but after reading this book I'm not convinced the overlord style is the right one either.
  4. Has anyone else read this? Great book by NPR Marketplace voice Stefan Fatsis. He joins the Denver Broncos as a kicker in training camp as a kicker and sheds a lot of insight into what it means to be an NFL player, how success and failure are defined by players and how demanding management is. Reading it made me realize just how little many of the "experts" on this board really know. Life in the NFL, plays on the field and wins and losses are not always what they seem. I highly recommend this one for any fan of the NFL...
  5. Actually, very little of it seems true. Seriously, what "elements of it seem true now based on what we know". Sure the Bills are playing games in Toronto, but that's about the only thing in the story that you posted that's consistent with current reality - the city. But the other dozen pieces of speculation are just that. Just 'cause you found this in a search from 2007 doesn't make it so - there were rumors of the Bills moving to Toronto long before 2007... Also, with the NFL's recent talk of expanding to 17 or 18 games and giving EVERY team 1 or 2 neutral site games, suddenly the Bills playing one game a year doesn't seem that crazy. It's just ahead of its time.
  6. It would be different if I wasn't near the $180 mark with Comcast and / or if I could get Sunday Ticket, but that day may never come (not sure how all of the MSO's can't get together to outbid or at least match the bid of Direct TV). Not to mention the constant problems with my OnDemand and DVR, the yearly price hikes (though DTV does that too) and the crazy amount of direct mail marketing they do. Time to explore DTV...
  7. http://www.mercurynews.com/sportsheadlines/ci_11980303 "It also looks like another sign that NFL Network will disappear from Comcast Cable altogether when that contract expires May 1. It is currently part of the sports tier that costs an extra $5 a month, but Derek Baine, an analyst for research firm SNL Kagan, recently wrote that Comcast was considering dropping its sports tier and folding some channels into digital basic. On Monday, CableFAX Daily wrote that Comcast has begun to notify subscribers that they could lose the NFL Network." Seriously? I pay *how* much for cable and now they're going to take away one of the only channels I watch? TW subscribers in Buffalo, suddenly I feel your pain...
  8. I would love to see us get Pettigrew - but only if we trade down, in front of Philly, to get him. I doubt that's going to happen sitting at 11 though... Still, imagine having Lee, TO, Reed *and* Pettigrew out running routes with Marshawn coming out of the backfield? Scary Even if the O Line SUCKS (which I don't think they will), Trent can make a decision fast enough to hit one of those targets! Throw Hardy, Johnson and Roscoe in the mix and you've got a pretty sick WR core.
  9. Apparently the franchise only consists of T.O. and Marshawn... Both T.D. and Soloman Wilcots liked the TO move, for playmaking ability and publicity. They focused heavily on Marshawn's troubles, T.D. seems pretty convinced that Marshwan is going to get a 4 game suspension. "ATC for at least 4 games. At The Crib." They showed a clip of the press conference, first I've seen of it, I like the way Marshawn handled himself. He seemed honest and I feel like he got the message from Goodell. They feel that Fred can carry the load, but TD said we might need to draft a back "to protect us from Marshawn not being able to play in AT LEAST 4 games this year and maybe more next year". Speculate much TD? o_O He's right though, I'm betting he's suspended 6 next year for an illegal hermit crab racing ring and that he gets abducted by aliens for 4 more. That's 10 games people! I mean it TOTALLY COULD HAPPEN!! Just stick with the facts TD...
  10. It's on... Amazing, they're leading with TO.
  11. Welcome to Tuesday, bro. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=84900 Don't be afraid to the try the search...
  12. With all these weapons, let's hope that he dips back into he and Wyche's heyday and starts running more no-huddle and up-tempo plays. His plan always was to get the ball out of the QB's hands and into the playmakers hands fast... The match-up problems that we have w TO and Lee alone are scary. Now throw in Reed, the potential growth of Hardy / Johnson (who I really like), Roscoe PLUS Marshawn / Freddy running the rock!? That has some potential. I also think that Hangartner is going to help shore up the middle of the O-line too. Hopefully we'll add a TE that's a gamer and an OG, but I like a lot of the pieces that we have. Finally I think, like everyone on team, Schonert will mature in his play calling this year and will use all this talent to get us consistently doing some things good. If we can do that we should be tough, if not explosive IMO!* And I'll drink to that *if TO doesn't go batsh*t crazy at some point.
  13. If nothing else TO will bring some excitement and fire to the team! It seems that he plays off the crowd and gets fired up when they do - he's gonna LOVE Bills fans... TO and Lee are gonna be a sick combo. T.O. + Lee = TD?
  14. Trent is on Bills cam - Anything new? Nothing major in the last 48 hours. lol. - Back in Buffalo, he was at a funeral in CA when he heard the TO news - Asked about TO's relationships with QBs, how will he and TO fair? Enjoys being around hard workers and competitive guys, that's what we need in this org and in this town of Buffalo! - Will his development be effected by TO chirping in his ear? People don't see behind the scenes, we're going to work hard off the field and on the field - Conservations with TO? Briefly spoke on Saturday, saw Jaime Dukes in the ATL airport (an aside story), has been texting with TO - Was at the game when TO caught the big playoff TD pass against GB, thought is was a great moment Trent seems like he's in great spirits, seemed calm and comfortable in front of the cam and seemed excited for the season. Can we get the season on already?!?
  15. The T.O. "exclusive" is the Chris Brown interview that's already on bb.com - lol
  16. Exclusive T.O. interview and Trent Shredwards on Bills Cam!
  17. College OL coming in for a visit, per an interview he just did on Sirius. Don't know much about him other than: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/504719
  18. "...no, T.O. is like stem cells" - Sirius caller. Quote of the signing, thus far...
  19. anyone have a link to high-res shots from the press conference?
  20. Not sure what they're going to say, but Zig is from WNY and Miller played for Jauron and loved this move last night. Should be interesting.
  21. He's up next on Sirius... What a night for Bills coverage!!
  22. Sirius also said that Jauron had the biggest hand in getting him here...
  23. Kelsay hasn't been on yet, but both Whitner and Stroud sound excited. Both feel that Jauron and the Bills locker room will able to handle TO and that he's a legit threat on the offense... Jim Miller loves the move - feels that Jauron will keep TO in line and with the one year deal and an uncapped year next year, TO will *have* to play well and behave to get a huge deal next year.
  24. it's great that the Bills scheduled the announcement so that the ticker below the Bills / Oilers replay on NFLN ;-)
  25. If you have sirius, turn it on. Donte Whitner was on about 30 minutes ago, Stroud is on now, Kelsay is scheduled for later, Jim Miller played for Jauron, they're going to play press conference... lots of insight if you have the service.
