Take a moment to think about the start of camp
Heitz replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just reading the first story coming out of mini camp, just those few new quotes and insights on our team, I sort of felt the roller coaster start moving forward... Not sure where this one will end, but I really have a feeling that it's going to be a fun year. We'll be at least competent and will earn some respect around the league. To a great 2010 -
Ice is a genuine concern, he hasn't stopped in and ranted yet - do you think his head exploded maybe? And Marshawn Lynch is the third best RB on the roster. As always, I look at the QB situation this way - Chan and Buddy are in charge, they know a hell of a lot more about the NFL and pro player personnel than I do. Plus, they've actually, you know, been working with the players; I'm going to go with what they say... I think that Trent can be at *least* a serviceable QB that Chan can use to win while we build. Draft in a year or two if we have to. OR he can be the franchise guy we all hope we can find. Trent was at a pretty big disadvantage the past couple years, might as well give him a year with this staff to see if he's the guy. None of us know what's going to happen yet, but I'm (as always) excited to see what the season brings! Let's Go Buffalo!!

Interesting, GRZ says Fitz is getting second reps in individual drills...
-
Ha - that's funny both Stanford and Louisville are Cardinals - guess nelson is clever...
-
Per Dave Nelson's Twitter "Yes, for all you asking ?s, they have announced the starting QB (for right now at least) Quick lunch break & then off to the first practice!" "Yea here's your hint. His colleges mascot is the same as the mascot of the place holding our training camp" Cardinals = Brohm!

Schobel is now 70/30 on playing this year
Heitz replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
lol As a guy who knows a pro snowboarder or two, I'm pretty sure that binging IS an Olympic sport. Or it's at least part of the training routine. Perhaps an event change is in order? Agree about the tea-totlers though. Re. The Bills - I bet everyone's questions will be answered over the next few months, starting tomorrow... -
"I know what they can do in shorts...'
Heitz replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure how anyone could argue against what they're trying to do here. It's going to be interesting to see if they can make it happen - and it all starts tomorrow! Loved the quotes at the end: ''It's all business and no jacking around,'' defensive lineman Chris Kelsay said. ''They want to win. They want to win now.'' That was part of the message when Gailey removed the big-screens in March. ''No TVs,'' added running back Fred Jackson. ''He kind of felt like it was a spa in there. He wants us to go in there and work out. And I think that's what they're trying to nail home. Guys are buying into that.'' Here's to hoping we win now -

Oh Balderdash! Mr. Wawrow, clearly you have the disadvantage of your "personal contact" with said athlete. Put simply, you're blind. As a full-time Professional Expert, I can assure you that we, the Citizens of the Internet, are much better at understanding the subtleties of what a journalist wrote that an athlete said, than the journalist having the actual conversation. Trust me sir, Aaron Schobel is taking us all for a ride - he simply wants to miss camp and / or ultimately, force a trade, just like Brett Farve. And come this season Schobel will get his trade wish and be in Miami throwing TD's against the Bills as we're swept once again by the Dolphins... I know this, because I've *read the quotes* (without interjecting any conjecture, I should add). Have you? GOOD DAY SIR. M -

If it makes you guys feel any better, Schobel is sorry for irritating you "I know I'm probably annoying people, but you've got to be 100% committed to this," Schobel said. "I apologize to the people I've irritated. But I guess I can't please everyone." http://www.fanfeedr.com/nfl/2010/07/28/bil...i-apologize-to- And I agree, Aaron might not have 10 sacks this year, but guess what, he might. The point is no one knows how he's going to play in this D. If Nix and Gailey say he can come back if and when he asks to, I have no problem with it... -

How is he turning into a diva? He's not ranting and demanding anything, he's just not sure if he wants to play anymore (and that seems to be mostly because he hates training camp). Give it 10 days and we'll know more... -
Schobel will make his decision in 10 days...
Heitz replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would argue that Schobel is nothing like Brett - Favre was / is the QB, the KEY guy on the field for the O. It's a lot easier to move on without one DE / OLB than it is your starting QB. And as for the TC hold-out, I would rather have some Schobel on the Bills, than none! -
Exactly - at some point it *is* news whether we like it or not. I wasn't complaining when the Bills were getting a little coverage last year for signing T.O. Was it overkill? Yes. Did I care? Nope. At some point I just turned the channel... Starting tomorrow we'll have our own news to get caught up in!
-
Good call, and hopefully along the same lines will be Overall Conditioning! I just don't see Gailey's guys running out of gas in the 4th quarter of a big game. Doesn't mean we're going to win 'em all, but I think we'll have a better chance.
-
I'm going to say we'll have a top 5 rushing attack this year. Not sure if we land in the playoffs, but we will gain respect under Gailey and crew... Going into next year TBD will light up with "we're going to win the Super Bowl" posts by the same kooks predicting we'll finish dead last in the league this year...

Interesting quote from Byrd: http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...d0-5391d0172a33 “There are a lot of different things in this defense. We’ll be making other teams think more instead of just being here and here and being so mundane,” he said. “We’ll be switching things up a lot pre-snap with moving around. It should be good.” Sounds like the same problems that the O was having last year. It all points to Jauron not being able to control the whole show... I wanted to see the guy succeed (i.e. the Bills win), but I'm sure not sad that he's gone!

Brady missed OTA's mandatory mini camp AND will be the 5th QB signed, therefore he's the 5th best QB on the depth chart...

Trent one of the "strongest arms in the NFL"

Also, Marshawn Lynch is the third best back on the Bills. Thanks. -

This must all be green screen... Pretty amazing though, regardless of what you think of Trent. -

Congrats to Ralph, Russ & Buddy...seriously

This article deserves it's own thread - I can't help but love what the new front office is building here in Buffalo. At least they have a freaking *plan* and are sticking to it. I'm not sure that can be said for the groups that were here for the past 10 years or so... -
Wait, this is a crime..? One they actually *bust* people for??

Giants' disgruntled LT might be worth keeping an eye on.

http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...fa-602ae77c45d7 Watching this you can't help but get a *little* excited for this year (even if you're super pessimistic). Just having a competent head coach and staff should make us a better team! I really like the way that Chan is THE leader of the O, no talking to multiple people that aren't on the same page, no single formation watered down plays, no no-huddle. I really think that we're going to surprise this year - I'm not claiming playoffs, but I'm not ruling them out either, Any Given Sunday... There's also a new clip up on 'Scoe too: http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...b9-3cc072d2e311
