For the record, the premise of this thread is that our *preseason* play calling is bad? I'm more of a "wait till we have our regular season personnel and game plan for opponents before freaking out" kinda guy...

This. If he was any good, he would have won at least two Super Bowls already this season!

This post needs more speculation... Predicting doom for both the O and the D after just a few preseason games (where were obviously not game planning or running our full systems or even starting lineups) seems a little silly to me, but to each his own.

Or we could wait till the season at least starts, but that's not as much fun when the pitchforks are sharpened in July these days...

Thank goodness I watched this one w a former big program college player and NFLN alum, the overreaction to the preseason is beyond beyond these days. I got a nice perspective on the game, players, preseason and football in general. Regardless, let thine freaking out commence, Voodoo calls my name in the am...

Mike Williams said he feels good about what the O did today. EJ looked confident (how could he see through the visor!?). New team, new reps, new guys...

Interesting - CB says EJ looked good at the end of practice, was working the middle of the field (TE and seam routes) well as Pittsburgh was shutting down the outside. Also said EJ missed some passes earlier (low, a couple off the mark), but was decisive in his reads and throws... fwiw.

Sounds like there's going to be a lot of coverage on Murph's show tonight - player and coach interviews, Chris Brown report, etc. Should be good listening...

Not that I'm old, but I definitely remember when that place opened... Good food aside, I'm pretty excited to see how we measure up against the Stillers - it will be a great measuring stick and a chance to build some confidence this off season. I was interested to read that Tomlin and EJ know each other, it'll be fun to see what Mikey has to say about EJ at the end of it all. There was also a great quote from 7-Eleven on Murph last night who said the team feels like there just starting to get to the point of gelling and really clicking - let's hope!

Yeah, but why are we the only ones FORCED BY THE LEAGE to do them? They've touched on the joint practices on Sirius over the past few weeks, most of the pundants on there feel that the joint practices and scrimmages are VERY helpful for teams. Gives your guys a chance go against different competition in a non-game setting. Obviously injuries are always a worry (whether it's pre-season, regular, or as we've seen this year - even before the season), but if we make it through relatively unscathed, with our HOF game and these joint practices our team is going to have had some great opportunities to get ready for the season!

Well, at least we've moved on to criticizing OTHER teams after only one pre-season game :facepalm:

Or we cold let the season play out and hopefully by then we'll KNOW if we have the QB we need or not. For now EJ is showing improvement and more reps and games are only going to help that. Patience will be required through this process... My "One Bills Wish" is that the win the Super Bowl - that should be yours too. But since I've never seen you post anything positive, why would it be?
