  1. Please, name a period in the American Republic where wealth has been more spread out that it is now? The middle class didn't even exist until after WW2, and that didn't mean they had a higher proportion of wealth. They just earned a lot more than their impoverished parents ands improving standards of living meant they could buy more things. Don't confuse that with wealth, which was always more concentrated than it is today.
  2. Levi's is honestly the worst stadium experience I've ever had.
  3. Kimmel is a problem because he perpetuates the myth that pre-existing conditions are the sticking point, which you also fall for. Pre existing conditions are a necessary evil to make insurance affordable, otherwise nobody would buy insurance until they got the condition. At that point, it's not insurance. The bigger item is portability, similar to what exists in employer plans and Medicare. Once you have insurance, you can transport the plan along with your pre existing condition. But G-d forbid that people take time to educate themselves on the matter, when they can get teary eyed on the screen. Kimmel doesn't even realize that his grandstanding would be worse for future cases like his sons.
  4. Oh Kimmell is 100% sincere. He's 90% misguided on the issue due to the emotional attachment, but he's certainly sincere in his misguided effort.
  5. The irony being is that the cost of speech has been declining exponentially since the dawn of the Republic.
  6. That's quite the sitcom cast. All you need is the feebleminded fatbellied brother Fredo
  7. I doubt that the dust has settled yet, given this thread. My guess is that as the year goes on and we hit the offseason more news will start to filter out. Again, this trade made little sense from a football standpoint, making you wonder what was going on behind the scenes.
  8. The tears in the corner of his eyes are a good substitute for understanding the issues
  9. Of course he's upset. And before he started the rant, he prefaced it with "I'm no expert on this" and then of course proceeded as if he were an expert on it.
  10. Shaq also not practicing today. Day to day
  11. Confirmed by McD
  12. I actually don't know. Just conjecture that there were things behind the scenes that forced the trade, starting from the decision not to exercise the option.
  13. If you get past the emotion of the trade, you have to believe that there were a lot of things behind the scenes, because the trade does not make any sense from a football standpoint.
  14. Going out on a limb. Trade with Jags for Hurns once Strong passes physical.
  15. You sure you have the right Matthews?
  16. This is my favorite. Holmes is streaking by the CB and would have been far behind the CB if the ball was thrown to him
  17. I honestly don't think there was an option to keep the pieces in place - Do you pay market price to keep Woods & Goodwin? I certainly wouldn't. Tyrod's contract redo was a clear sign of what the team thought of him and more importantly how the rest of the league valued him. The new contract came on the heels of Hoyer signing in SF instead of Buffalo and Tyrod's feelers to the rest of the league. This is a one year prove it or lose it year for Tyrod, and if I'm the Bills, I'm not investing a lot of assets until I know my long term QB situation.
  18. I'm sure that's the only reason
  19. But we don't know what the full extent of the play calls were. We only see the plays that Tyrod ran and where he threw the ball. My review of his passes showed a bi-polar tendency - he either went with his first read or he bailed on the play completely when it broke down. Unless someone can correct me on the plays, but I did not see him throwing to a second read. (I'm not counting dump off passes after 3 seconds as second reads) So if you are the OC and are dealing with a QB who's clearly struggling to pick up your offense, what kind of plays do you call - keep the routes short and safe to build up his confidence or dial up the aggressiveness to move the ball? That's a dilemma they're going through right now. But having said that, there were many, many options for long gains where Tyrod never pulled the trigger.
  20. I'll repost what I said in another thread: But it begs the question of what's the cart and what's the horse? What's better for the team's long term success - adapting the offense to Tyrod's strengths, or seeing if Tyrod can work in this offense. To me, the actions the team has taken since January are clear and it's up to Tyrod to adapt. Some people look at it as the front office putting Tyrod in a position to fail. I look at it from Suggs' point of view - they want to see Tyrod be a QB.
  21. Dennison presided over top 10 offenses with Matt Schaub as his QB!!
  22. That's a fair statement. But it begs the question of what's the cart and what's the horse? 23. We're going to take out their nukes with flying nachos? Is that because the flying burritos were booked?
  24. College open or NFL open?
