The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
GG replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
A cautionary note for all the well-meaning leftists about the roots of your patron saints. This was penned by a Communist writer who got disillusioned after a visit to Stalin's paradise in the '30s. "What is wanted now is compliance, conformism. What is desired and demanded is approval that is not mere resignation, but a sincere and enthusiastic approval. What is most astounding is that this attempt is successful. On the other hand the smallest protest, the least criticism, is liable to the severest penalties, and in fact is immediately stifled. And I doubt whether in any other country in the world, even Hitler’s Germany, thought be less free, more bowed down, more fearful (terrorized), more vassalized.” -

On another note, did I just witness a former employee of the Executive branch complain that she was fired at the request of the head of the Executive branch, under whose sole discretion she served?

What gets ignored by the masses is that clean air & water is mostly abundant in free democratic and economic societies.

Probably a rational explanation for the move, but flies in the face of the excuses that the Syrian withdrawal is part of an overall drawdown of ME presence. The administration could be better served if it wasn't run by the second incarnation of the blind epileptic squirrel.

50 troops in "Kurdistan" are too much, but 2,000 more in KSA are just right?

It's not bad, but how do you think the world gets access to cleaner air and water?

Definitely recommend reading the entire Hollywood Reporter story. My only quibble is that they relied too much on Farrow’s direct accounts, which straddles the line of journalism and PR. -

Let me offer a football analogy. It's like talking about your favorite team's young QB, and pretending that the opposing defensive coordinators won't have a game plan to attack his weaknesses. I don't know if it was you or someone else who linked the Brian Cates rant about the criticism that he's been getting about the slow rollout of whatever this news is about to come out, and that the slow rollout was part of a gran plan. And when the news hits, there will be no alternative for the targets but to cover in fear. The problem with that theory is that the targets are people in high positions who stand to lose everything and have been preparing for this for about 3 years. So, while we're supposed to marvel at the behind-the-scenes strategery masterminded by a Cheeto caricature who can't put a coherent sentence together, in reality the slow rollout lost him a House chamber, muddled legislative actions and started impeachment proceedings that threaten the stability of the country. So please, tell me how the end game is going to turn out well?

Hopefully CNN will keep these confined to their Website. The prospect of being forced to listen to millennial struggles as part of CNN’s ubiquitous Oceania-style telescreens is prime Room 101 fodder. Stories like this also piss me off, and I'm talking about DW's take, not CNN's. There's a huge difference between worrying about getting ahead in life and complaining how hard your life is. The millennials have a valid point that it was relatively easier for their parents to get ahead. We can debate the reasons for that, but the point is valid.

That was my point - there was a very narrow window to throw to Knox as he kept running. #26 wouldn't have enough time to light up Knox because he was easily 10 yards away when Knox should have received the ball. Allen's body language suggests he wanted Knox to settle in the spot. You can see Allen is tempted to go into a throwing motion, but Knox kept running. I think that's where the play truly broke down.
-
To beat the topic to death, here's the other angle on the play. Titans had the first read covered well, and Allen should have moved off sooner. But he still had Knox open for a while. Actually after looking at this 1,000 times, I'm now placing a bit more blame on Knox. He needed to cut off his pattern and settle in the soft zone that was empty, because Beasley cleared out the safety. This is a play where Gronk has made a killing.

Trump Wants To Regulate Google

I thought the original link was part of the joke, because Techcrunch was down earlier today. But now that I've read it, the author is a moron. -
No, earlier in the play, as soon as he looks off his first read. He has both Beasley and Knox open. Both would be tight throws, but throws that an NFL QB should make.
-
I posted this in another thread that had the All22. My bigger issue is the indecision prior to the INT. He had Beasley and Knox open. He needs to make those throws to progress as a QB.
