Just watched both angles and the replay is not conclusive of seeing the actual contact, except there is almost no possible way for Wallace to go flying like he did without the contact from the TEs left leg.

This made me chuckle.

Will offense operate better with Barkley next week?
GG replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is this based on factual data of the points he's contributed to in his brief career or your perpetual need to be an argumentative @#_&? -
Josh's foot work in the first qtr - Woof

I will not fault him for the decision to throw the ball to a WR who beat the CB deep. I will fault him for the godawful base from which he made that throw. -

You're comparing a Bears stint on a tanking team and you're blaming him for the Bears defense allowing points? -

Barkley was once touted as a Top 10 pick, and got knocked down for his arm strength. He was then tossed into bad situations. But there's nothing in his career that suggests that he can't be a quality backup and put up points when needed. Why is his his 4th round draft status used as a knock, when there are other guys drafted 4th and below who are doing well enough? If we get a Derek Anderson in his prime, I'm perfectly fine with that as a back up. -
That's the one play I would like to see an All 22 review, because it looked like the left foot contacted the Bills player

This is his 5th year in the league, with less games than Allen. -

You mean don't do the things you did 4 times AFTER your offensive coordinator was screaming at you on the sidelines not to do? Maybe the next time he will listen. -

I brought up a point after the Jets game that Allen moving the ball well in the 1st half could have been part of the defensive game plan. I think the book is clear on him. Don't give up the big play and let the Bills utilize 10-12 play drives, because there's a high probability of him making a critical mistake in those 10-12 plays. So far, the D coordinators haven't been wrong. -

That's what I've been trying to say. Thanks for the clarification. -

At this point in time, running the offense that Daboll has installed, I think that Barkley will put up more points. -
That is the infuriating part. The whole point of hiring Farwell was for his innovative designs and attention to detail. Perhaps not.

Yesterday was simply a continuation of subpar play from your nominal #2 WR. At a certain point you need to take stock at the accumulation of bad plays and ask if he's actually a net negative for the offense. If the answer to that question isn't "Yes" yet, it's pretty close.

He was out there, but not targeted.

There's no QB controversy. The concussion will be a good excuse for McD and Daboll to sit Allen down because he desperately needs it right now. -

So you crap on the QB who had 2 of the longest drives today, was totally left exposed by an OL brainfart, but excuse the guy who threw 3 ridiculous INTs and fumbled twice? -

The biggest difference between Barkley and Peterman is that Barkley doesn't panic nor settle on his first read come hell or high water. For all the criticism about an NFL arm, it was Barkley who had the best throws that traveled more than 15 yards today. -

The possession where a WR dropped a pass and the right side totally missed the blitzer? Barkley led 2 of the 3 longest drives today. Again, look at the topic - Nobody is disputing that Allen has a much higher upside than Barkley, but at this moment - the combination of Allen's growing pains and Daboll's complicated offense makes Barkley a better short term option. -
Josh is horrible on long throws all 4 games

Uhm, the INT was on an under thrown ball to a relatively slow WR who had beaten the coverage. -

What does Tyrod have to do with this discussion? And to be clear, I'm in no way saying that Barkley should be the long term starter. -

Regression in the best part of his game last year, and in careless decision making. Six INTs and four? fumbles in 4 games is not a great stat. -

The big issue is that his play in the first 3 Qs puts the entire onus on the defense to keep the game in check. There's no question that I would rather have him than Barkley when the game is on the line with 3 minutes to go. But realistically, the first 3 games should have been blow outs, and today's game wouldn't need last minute heroics with half way decent QB play. I think that at this point, with the offense that Daboll is running, Barkley is the better option. There has to be concern about Allen's regression this year, especially when the long ball has been woefully off. -

Short term vs long term goal? This could be a case where Josh again benefits from sitting down and watching. -
This is really a combination of several threads - Onto the Titans, Josh Concussion Protocol, Daboll offense doesn't score in 1st half, and John Brown talking about how complicated the offense is. I think it's unlikely that Josh plays next week because the NFL doesn't take concussions lightly, and with Bills facing a bye in week 6 they will play it safe with him. We knew that Allen was the least ready of the 2018 prospects, and any great defense will force him into mistakes. That's why Daboll was screaming at him on the sidelines, because he continues to force the ball when it's not necessary. It's also obvious that Josh is having trouble executing Daboll's complex offense and the new players haven't helped the kid yet. Or maybe Allen is emboldened to take more risks with the new guys and that hasn't worked out yet. What is obvious is that Barkley is better prepared to run this offense, as designed, but clearly can't do what Josh can if the play breaks down. I think that another break will be important for Allen to settle down, as he watches Barkley's methodical approach take apart the opposing defenses. I don't think Barkley will struggle next week, and will put together some good tape for Allen to study.
