  1. Do you think the Eagles could have used Henry against the Falcons?
  2. Both McNally and Donahoe have been quoted as saying that Peters has made very, very few mental mistakes in training camp. In mini camp, I know McNally said he did not make a single mental mistake. He also said that Peters is the most athletic lineman he has ever coached....which is ridiculous praise coming from the guy who coached Anthony Munoz his entire career. I also watched the first quarter on TIVO last night and that block was UNBELIEVABLE. Literally knocked two guys right out of the play and made it look easy. Looked like Peters was that kid who was too big to play in little league. Bannan also had a great block on the same play. I would not be surprised if Peters gets some time with the first string but Gandy has been playing well also.
  3. I checked NFL Network website and looks the game will be shown on Monday morning. Anyone know if it will be on before then? Monday, August 15, 2005 10 a.m. -- NFL Preseason Game The Buffalo Bills battle the Indianapolis Colts as a part of Week 1 NFL Preseason action. Also, for those interested in staying home and watching TV Friday night, starting at 8:00 they will be showing back to back to back episodes of "Dolphins Cheerleaders--Making the Squad".
  4. I am a huge Lefors fan so probably not too objective. I think he will be a great pro. A. Super accurate. His passing efficiency, completion rate and lack of interceptions either led the nation or were close to it. He may have even had some of the best numbers ever. B. This guy is fast. When the offense was not clicking, they would just run a couple bootlegs for 10-15 yards and put the defense on their heels to get things cruising again. C. Intangibles/awesome leader. You probably know about his brother and parents all being deaf so he was a leader from a very young age. All around great guy, great attitude. Only negative was that he did not have a gun but he can still throw a beautiful deep ball. I would decribe him as a bigger, better version of Flutie.
  5. I saw every Louisville game last year and Gates is definitely a player. Louisville was just so loaded at RB that he did not get the chance to stand out. Shelton is a beast and Michael Bush, who is still at Louisville, is great also. Plus, the team threw the ball all over the field. Watch out for the Cards this year. Their Sophmore QB, Brian Brohm, was #1 in the nation coming out of High School and played great against Miami last year when LeFors the starter got a concussion.
  6. For what its worth, McNally was presenting in North Tonawanda last week and someone asked him about losing PW. Response was that Defense won't miss a beat and he thought Edwards was better than PW anyway.
  7. This is also the same reason we should not trade Henry unless we get some true value. Chances are that McGahee will get banged up during the season and none of our other backs excite me besides TH.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Shelton a right tackle? Are you all suggesting we would just be signing him for depth? MW is clearly not going anywhere and should have a monster year at RT.
  9. These numbers are actually from last week when a group of NFL scouts worked him out in Hamilton. A number of teams are now flying him in for personal workouts. When you see Clarett's numbers, it is amazing that Lumsden was not even invited to the combine.
  10. Here you go... 6'2, 225 4.4 in the 40 19x225 lb. bench press 36" vertical 21 TDs last year, 47 total. Leading rusher in the East/West shrine game: http://www.athrec.mcmaster.ca/athletics/te...umsdenrecap.htm http://www.athrec.mcmaster.ca/athletics/te...heccrighton.htm And he is practically local!
  11. Eric Shelton, Louisville. 4th rd would be a steal. Big and FAST.
  12. Bannan actually is in the mix for LG but I don't have as much information on him. Last I heard (a few months ago), there was talk about him spending the entire offseason working on the transition. Will share more when I get an update. This information is VERY accurate although I am sure most of you don't believe it anyway. Peters is not as far away as you think. His biggest hurdle is mental but coaches think he is one of the best athletes playing tackle they have ever seen.
  13. Assuming JJ is gone, Jason Peters is being strongly considered for LT next year. Coaches LOVE his athleticism.
  14. Coaches are VERY high on him at tackle. Do not be surprised if he is starting LT next year if team loses Jennings. Unbelievably athletic and quick for a guy his size. Could be a "special" tackle.
  15. I just did the same thing but used miles and will get in on Saturday to catch the Barenaked Ladies at Sheas Should be a killer weekend. You never know....in '90 I drove 10 hours to watch the Bills beat the Raiders 51-3...one of the smartest things I ever did. Then blew a whole lot more $$ watching WIDE RIGHT in Tampa that same year. No regrets though.
  16. 1. I really think this offense is better without Josh Reed as well. Addition by subtraction when you take away all his drops. Will be interesting to see what happens when he comes back. 2. Towards the end of the game on TV, they showed the "highlight" of Jacksonville's winning catch against the Bills in the first game of the season. Really reminded me how much better off we are with Wire and Reese out of the lineup. They were both right around the ball in that play against Jacksonville and the receiverd still came down with it. Would that happen with Baker and Milloy back there instead????
  17. I usually love the guy but he is getting his ass kicked all over the field tonight. Last drive he was driven about 10 yards down the field on one play. Just when I start to get excited, same old Bills and same old Bledsoe. Ugh!!
  18. Jason Peters has been working as a TACKLE in practice since he rejoined the practice squad. Coaches are VERY high on him. Supposed to be an absolutely unbelievable athlete at tackle. Have not heard anything about possible playing time for him in games though.
  19. Did anyone else hear the announcers talking about how McGahee thanked GW for not rushing him back last year when he was really pushing to play? I bash GW every chance I get and can't stand the guy but must give him credit based on McGahee's comments. I thought it was very interesting.
  20. I had this same conversation with a college football coach today. Bottom line, he said if Bannan is a good enough athlete, the switch would not really be all that hard. Did not put into context how long in would take (i.e. weeks vs. an entire training camp). Just said it was very possible if he was a good enough athlete.
