  1. I am pretty sure McNally is under a new contract right now that was extended right before Mularkey resigned. Of course Jauron would have to want to keep him but I can't imagine a better option out there.
  2. Two facts I know for sure: 1. The Bills offense struggled overall and their 4,122 yards were the fewest produced by Buffalo in a 16-game season last season. 2. Buffalo went 14-18 and ranked 25th and 28th in offense in two seasons under Mularkey. Any way you look at it, that is piss poor. I for one do not think the offensive talent on the Bills last year was the worst ever in their history. Recording the fewest yards ever in their history is not a testament to a great offensive mind.
  3. I thought I heard that Pittsburgh was going to fire Mularkey as their O coordinator before we hired him as our head coach??
  4. Our O was f**ked up last year. Seriously. The throws on short yardage plays, the messed up gadget plays, the lack of identity, etc.. If Mularkey becomes the Dolphins O coordinator, that is great news for the Bills and the rest of the AFC East.
  5. Agree with you on old Spikes vs. Gold is a no brainer. Achilles repaired Spikes will probably not be the same though. Thinking about Cowart.
  6. Totally objectively, check out this comparison. I only have the Bills being better at one, maybe two, defensive positions. Our D is FAR AWAY from rejoining the NFL's elite: LE Courtney Brown or Chris Kelsay? Brown Broncos LT Michael Myers or Justin Bannon? Myers Broncos RT Gerard Warren or Tim Ansderson? Warren Broncos RE Trevor Pryce or Aaron Schobel? Tie WLB Ian Gold or Takeo Spikes (when healthy)? Tie (depending on Spikes health next year) MLB Al Wilson or London Fletcher? Wilson Broncos SLB D.J. Williams or Jeff Posey? Williams Broncos LCB Champ Bailey or Nate Clements? Bailey Broncos RCB Domonique Foxworth or Terence McGee? McGee Bills SS Nick Ferguson or Lawyer Milloy? Tie FS John Lynch or Troy Vincent? Lynch Broncos Thoughts????
  7. I saw him get a sack (I think it was last week) and could not believe it. I completely forgot about the guy and was so pissed off that we let him go and now he is doing well. Good for him though.
  8. What were Bills fans saying back when we hired Marv the first time around?
  9. Don't be so sure on the Bills paying his salary regardless of where he goes next year....stay tuned on this one.
  10. I heard something VERY similar on a couple of your points. Szabo and Gray reportedly got into it, big time; however, I never heard anything about Gray making bad calls on purpose and find that impossible to believe. I also heard the exact same thing about JG being gone already and not announcing it until he finds another job.
  11. Don't be surprised if this guy is retired next year. No sense asking whether Marv can motivate him or how is health is. I guarantee he is gone in 2006.
  12. Don't be surprised if Mike Williams is retired next season. Seriously.
  13. Spikes + Fletcher + Crowell + Hawk would be SWEET. We would also need to find a NT. Could Schobel and Kelsay handle it? Thoughts?
  14. hmmmm...find four teams with worse records over the past five years and this puts TD's regime smack dab in the bottom of the league. Keeping the lousy players you draft does not mean you are succesful!
  15. I think that any influence Marv can have on this organization is a positive. He always was classy and emphasized intelligence. I also thought part of the reason the current team was not "mentally tough" was because management no longer focused as much on the intelligence of the players. I also don't have a problem with his age. If you read his book and understand his history and character, this should not be a concern. I can only imagine the types of guys on this team with Marv's influence...hungry, smart, more small school...bring back the Jamie Muellers, Andre Reeds and Don Beebes. Here are some classic Marvisms from the past: "There is a tremendous tendency when you don't win to ask whose fault it is rather than to seek out a solution" "Expect rejection, but expect even more strongly to overcome it" "The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender" "Adversity is an opporunity for heroism" This could be a great chapter in NFL history...the old man coming back and turning it around!!! At the least, I for one will be more supportive of this team and organization because I believe in Marv.
  16. Does "alarmed" mean the same thing as "relieved" or "excited about"?
  17. You know what really bugs me about Bledsoe getting run out of town is that our D blew that Pittsburgh game last year as well. Willie Parker literally ran over Lawyer Milloy on that long run and NOBODY ever talks about that play. That was just a sign of things to come in 2006. Not saying we would be in much better shape with Bledsoe right now, I just think the all the blame he received was unjustified. My opinion is that Bledsoe or Holcomb is a wash. Both have their plusses and minuses. Big Arm and Holds the Ball Too Long vs. Noodle Arm and Gets Rid of the Ball Quick?
  18. I really hope Clements is gone. He is overrated and way too full of himself. Our D has been lousy with him all year anyway. Better to save the $$ and find a young guy (or three) with a good attitude that we can hopefully win with.
  19. Totally agree 100%. The draft is a crap shoot as we all know with Mike Williams. Better to win now and hope to get lucky in the draft. Way too many first round busts over the years to play this game.
  20. Roscoe's move on third and long was HUGE. He deeked that guy right out of his shoes to get the first down. That was the first time this year I actually thought Parrish might really be able to help this team. Reed's catch was a few years overdue but so sweet to see nonetheless.
  21. The guy does is injury prone and more importantly will not play hurt = lack of heart. I am looking forward to seeing more guys on this team with more desire.
  22. He looked pretty fast to me on the reverse kickoff...definitely faster than Kelso ever looked. Also looks like he has moved ahead of Baker on the draft chart. Seems like he will get his shot in training camp next year. We could really use a break finding some good players, hope he is a nice surprise for us.
  23. I was looking at some past draft picks and if the Bills draft smartly this year, we should be a Super Bowl contender in another year or two no problem Of course this assumes we have a new coach and GM in place with no connections to Pittsburgh whatsoever!! All we need to do is replicate our success in previous drafts like this: Round 1: Bruce Smith, DE (should be no problem finding another DE like this at the top of the 2006 draft) Round 2: Thurman Thomas RB (we can trade McGahee for all I care and pick up a couple of extra late round picks) Other attractive options would be another Phil Hanson, DE, Will Wolford, G, Daryl Talley, LB or Nate Odomes, CB Round 3a: Don Beebe, WR Round 3b (from Tennessee): Jamie Mueller, FB (God, I loved the way that guy played) Round 4: Andre Reed, WR (or even Chris Burkett would be better than our current backups) Round 5: John Holecek, LB (Bills draft history in rounds 5 and 6 is pretty scary over the past 15 years or so) Round 6: Corbin Lacina, G Round 7a: Mark Pike, DE (we'll get all these extra 7th round picks when we dump McGahee) Round 7b: Butch "Shake, Rattle and" Rolle, TE Round 7c: Keith McKellar, TE (was actually a 9th round pick) Round 7d: House Ballard, T (was actually an 11th round pick) Then we can grab another Pat Williams and Jason Peters as UFAs and we should be able to easily claw our way back above .500 next year assuming our new coach does not suspend too many of our top players each week !!
  24. MW will probably stub his toe in the locker room and miss the next three games so none of this will matter anyway.
  25. john clayton just said holcomb will start on nfl sirius radio with rich eisen.
