  1. Little bird told me that Jason Peters is an absolutely unbelievable athelete at tackle and will figure in the mix for sure next year. Problem is that he is not very bright and I don't know how much that will hold him back.
  2. I saw Matthews play in the preseason and think he would do a better job than Bledsoe is doing right now. That simple.
  3. To that same point, these installers are mostly contractors so don't be afraid to send the guy home if you don't like him or seems like he does not know what he is doing. I got completely screwed two years ago when I moved with the free movers package. When the installer came to my new house for the free installation, he said there was no way to install Directv because of my trees. Turns out he was just a lazy SOB who did not feel like working on a difficult install. Two months ago a new company started up in my town and a guy was going door to door looking for business. He installed at my house no problem and I am LOVING having Sunday Ticket again.
  4. I think the main thing that made our O-line look better was McGahee. He earned so many of those yards on his own that it is not even funny. One of the articles compared it to how Flutie made the O-line look better than when RJ was in there.
  5. hmmmmm....isn't Gilbride with the 4-1 NY Giants this year?
  6. This was one of the main reasons they extended Teague's contract even though he had not really distinguished himself at center.
  7. I actually don't think it's that funny the article didn't mention Wilfork is a rookie, why is that funny?? A cheap shot is a cheap shot, regardless who it comes from. JJ is hardly a marshmellow and your post is pretty lame. No need to reply to this post, would actually prefer not to hear from you again if this is an example of what you have to add to this board.
  8. I guess there was a reason after all that Shelton was OUT OF THE LEAGUE last year. I was surprised that the Bills just picked some guy up off the street and gave him the starting FB job. Was hoping it would be a lucky break for the Bills but definitely not looking that way.
  9. If you check out these links, Buffalo has far fewer injuries than most teams in the league. Not sure if this means anything (better conditioning, better trainer?) or we're just lucky. Either way, still interesting: http://covers.usatoday.com/data/nfl/injuries_afc.aspx http://covers.usatoday.com/data/nfl/injuries_nfc.aspx
  10. If you really want to have fun, there is a Hampton Inn on Chippewa. Walking distance to all the bars, restaurants, etc. Perfect location downtown. The Mansion on Delaware is the nicest hotel I have been to in Buffalo and is still pretty reasonable. Great location, walk to everything downtown and great place with great service. Converted old mansion in Allentown with tons of character and charm.
  11. I remember the same thing came up with Barry Sanders but I don't think he ended up repaying.
  12. Man, that is brutal if that's true! All three calls could have easily changed the outcome of the game. Is there an official NFL website where you can see this? i.e. www.nflblowncalls.com
  13. Another good point, I count that as two good decisions that TD has made since he's been here.
  14. Actually, the way I remember it, Big Ted said he would take a pay cut to stay with the Bills and Gregg Williams had some great quote how there was no room on his team for "fat guys". Would be surprised if Big Ted would have taken up anywhere close to 20% of the cap but could be wrong. I am sure that he helped Chicago go 13-3 and then helped New England win a Super Bowl. EVERY team he has played on has had a stout run defense. At this point, I have to say that Donahoe is not a good GM. Bringing in some very good talent does not equal 17-34. Good talent equals a winning record. I want to see them turn this around as badly as anyone else, just fed up with all the losing!
  15. That is actually the only fair response I have seen posted. Good point and a good move by TD.
  16. Ditched 'em on the Chinese Downhill. Heading over to Sunny's later tonight for a quickie though
  17. Of course hindsight is 20-20, that's why I'm saying this guy has not made a single big decision that was a good one. Honestly, I can't give him too much credit for getting us out of cap jail. How hard is it to cut all your veterans and go 3-13?? If you can get out of cap jail, go 3-13 and draft a bunch of all-pros, then you are doing your job. And giving him positive credit for the Bledsoe trade is ridiculous. That trade was a huge mistake and we are paying the price for it every single Sunday. Give me one good big decision that he has made???
  18. I'm a huge Bills fan and don't want to give up on Donahue but I need a reason to support this guy. I can't think of a single big decision he has made here that has worked out: 1. Mike Williams instead of Roy Willams or Bryant McKinnie. 2. Gregg Williams instead of Marvin Lewis or John Fox. 3. RJ instead of Flutie (I would actually rather have Flutie than Bledsoe right now but that is a seperate topic). 4. Bledsoe for a #1 pick (Talk about a win/win, Belechick got a #1 AND screwed a division rival at the same time!) 5. Letting Ted Washington go. The only thing that can save Whitey now is for McGahee/Evans/Losman to all turn into all pros and best case we have a contender in two more years. Am I missing something, are there any Whitey backers out there??? I'm ready to throw in the towel in this guy!
  19. If you are truly good, you can run for that yard, even when the other team knows its coming right at them. Just like we were doing at the end of the game before Villariel's penalty. The question is are we good enough to do that with 4 downs from the three yard line? I would like to think so and wish we would have tried.
  20. Personally, I do think this was a horrible call. They should have run right at them again and then again on 4th down if necessary. A) They most likely would have gotten in and B) Jacksonville would have been on their one foot line if we didn't get in and our defense was playing great. I think this would have set the tone for the season that we are committed to the run AND have total faith in our defense. Call it hindisight if you want, but everyone I was sitting with at the game said the same thing BEFORE the 3rd down pass play.
  21. I think Seymour over Schobel is a no brainer, Seymour is one of the best in the league no doubt. The question is what he will get paid when his contract is up? Will the Pats pony up to keep him or is he gone? Then you can have a true comparison between the decision TD made on Schobel and the Pats' philosophy about not overpaying players.
  22. I know there are more to stats than just sacks, but Schobel's deal looks like money well spent to me: Jevon Kearse: $66 million, six-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles that includes a $16 million signing bonus. 10 sacks in 2003. Grant Wistrom: $33-million deal, six year deal with the Seattle Seahawks that includes a $14M signing bonus. 8 sacks in 2003. Adewale Ogunleye: $33 million, six year deal with the Chicago Bears. The deal included a $15 million signing bonus. 15 sacks in 2003. Aaron Schobel: $28 million, six year deal. Schobel received a $7 million signing bonus and will also earn a $2 million roster bonus next spring. 12 sacks in 2003.
  23. Would you pay $36 extra per ticket for two Super Bowl championships in last three years? Ticket prices soar in NFL September 7, 2004 CHICAGO (AP) -- The average ticket price for an NFL game this season will be more than $54, a 4.9 percent increase from 2003. According to Team Marketing Report's annual survey, the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers had the biggest increases. The Falcons' average ticket price is up 26.2 percent to $43.71, while the NFC champion Panthers raised theirs 18 percent to $50.23. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, all 2003 division winners, did not raise prices. But the Patriots have the most expensive average price, $75.33. Only the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks decreased ticket prices. The Buffalo Bills, who last made the playoffs in 1999, are the best bargain with a $37.13 average ticket price. The average cost for a family of four at an NFL game this season will be more than $300, according to the Fan Cost Index compiled by TMR. That's up 4.3 percent from 2003 and includes four tickets, two small beers, four small soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking for one car, two game programs and two least-expensive, adult-size caps. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-n...ov=ap&type=lgns
