  1. I'm not convinced it's Doom and gloom for the pats, if Romeo Crenell gets a head coaching job after this season, and raids some of the other pats coaches with him. Than I'll be more inclined to agree, but to a certain extent. I don't think ne will just fall off the map, but the playing field imo will definitly be evened out. Don't get it wrong. The pats while having the best coaching staff in the nfl, also have a talent loaded full of smart "FOOTBALL PLAYERS" mix that with great coaching and you got championship success, but losing weis, and than hopefully losing crenell, mangini, pepper johnson etc will hurt them
  2. I don't want to get too happy cause neither ND or Weis confirmed this, but if it's true it just make the holiday season all the better. HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS IT'S THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR. HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR
  3. I hope to learn that our dline can generate pressure without having to blitz lb's or db's, but straight overpower their man, and get in the quaterbacks face, and yes I mean pressure not sacks. Sacks are overrated. I want the pressure that leads to turnovers. I hope to learn that Drew Bledsoe has another great game, cause this would make some people miserable, and that to me would just be funny. I hope to learn Willis Mcgahee has a 150+ yard game. I hope to learn that the Bills are so far ahead by the 4th quater that JP is allowed to come in, and do something besides hand the ball off to Joe Burns. I hope to learn that the bills defense had another huge day generating turnovers. I could care less about the points were we rank in giving up yards. The #1 defensive stat related almost directly to winning games is Turnovers. But Most of all I hope to learn that the Buffalo bills are 7-6 after Sunday and I hope that Denver/Baltimore/Jacksonville/Cincy all lose.
  4. Peerless Price- 2004 Atlanta 12 29 458 38.2 15.8 50 2.2 21 2 Lee Evans- 2004 Buffalo 12 29 554 46.2 19.1 69 4.2 24 5 Same amount of catches. More Yards, More Yards per game. Better average. A full 2 yards better after the catch and more td's. Ones a rookie and ones been in the league for 6 years. WOW, and considering we got mcgahee out of that price deal. Simply leaves me speechless
  5. Bills win in a blowout 49-10. The Defense and offense come up huge. I also wouldn't be suprised to see a special teams touchdown. First full dominating effort of the season in every facet. Secondly. Enough of this travis henry garbage. Yes henry was/is a good rb, but he's not better than willis mcgahee not by a long shot. No he wouldn't have made the runs mcgahee has made. While Willis isn't all the way back compare his 20+ yard runs and even runs over 10+ yards to the runs henry got. I think you'll find henry doesn't even touch willis in this area. While Henry may break a 20 yarder here or there, you could never count on him to do that every game. Maybe a good 5-10 yards every few runs, but you can count on willis to get you a run over 20 yards every game and sometimes more than that. Willis is better in every area than travis henry is. Better pure runner, better at picking up the blitz, better receiver out of the backfield, he's just better. Henry is a quality back, Willis Mcgahee is a superstar in the making.
  6. While this turnaround has been fun to watch. Takeo Spikes put it best..... ``I don't see it as an accomplishment,'' he said. ``Anything else other than going to the playoffs this year is irrelevant.''
  7. I thought The redskins would win the nfc east because of the running of clinton portis. I believed Gibbs would simplify the offense, the line play would improve and their defense would keep them in games to keep them competitive. I was pretty much banking on the cowboys/giants sucking it up this year(and they have, minus the boys 2 game win streak), and the free agent accusitions of the redskins finally paying off. Shawn Springs has been very good all year. Infact I think he's outplayed former redskin Chump Bailey. Clinton Portis is coming along. Granted not the back he was in denver, but still good. A lot of that can be attributed to bad oline play. Their defense is top notch, most of the year without arrington. So While I was right about their defense keeping them in games. I was wrong about gibbs and the offense. Mark Brunell was horrible, the line is still bad, and while portis has been coming along it hasn't been enough to overcome the porous offense. I think it's still to early to believe the game has passed gibbs by, but he has a lot of work to do to get the redskins to where they want to be.
  8. This is dumb. You can't "take away" games. This like the idea of "taking" away a big run by a rb to make him look like less of a rb. Like if I said if you take away Julis Jones 53 yard run on monday he would've only had 150 yards instead of 200. Well no sh--. Fortuntaly for us and anyone else who beats miami they're still a part of the nfl, and victories against them still count. You are what you are. It's not fairy tale or make believe. You can't erase a fact. It would be like me saying. What about the 66 yard screen pass to willis mcgahee that would've gave bledsoe 343 yards passing. What if that never got called back, WHAT if Willis Mcgahee never fumbled. Drew could've finished with 5 or 6 tds instead of 4. See your theory can work both ways.
  9. I was wrong on 1. A KC/SEATTLE Superbowl this year 2. That The titans would make it to the afc championship. I believed they would be a better team with chris brown and tyrone calico(I still believe that, both calicos injured and brown is fragile) 3. That Ne couldn't possibly be better than they were last year. 4. That Phillip Rivers was gonna be the standard this year and for years to come. I still question how someone went from being a 3rd rd pick to a top overall pick in a month span. I have my doubts about him now 5. That the redskins would win the nfc east this year I have a lot more things I was wrong about, but I figured I'd just keep it to this year instead of writting a book
  10. Buffalo 49 Browns 12 Drew Bledsoe 22/35 320 yards 3tds 1int Willis Mcgahee 22at 130 yards 2tds long 55yards 7 receptions for 80 yards and 2 receiving tds. Yes this is a longshot, but I think we'll have our biggest offensive explosion of the year. If I'm wrong so be it, but either way we won't lose to the browns
  11. While Ice does flip flop in his opinions a lot. I believe he is first and foremost a FAN, and like all other fans of the Buffalo Bills, wants nothing more than to see them win a superbowl. Whether it's with Drew Bledsoe, JP LOSMan, or Condoleza Rice playing quaterback. It's the trophy that matters not the player at qb. I think ICE gets that. He's a bit of a cynic, and believes that we won't ever be anything more than an average team with Bledsoe at qb. So far he's been proven right, but no he shouldn't leave the board. I believe him posting balances out the over homerish type posts. THE FIRST AND FOREMOST GOAL OF THE BUFFALO BILLS AND THEIR FANS, SHOULD BE NOT SETTLING FOR AVERGAE, OR SETTLING FOR APPERANCES, BUT FOR ONE DAY HEARING THE INFAMOUS WORDS HEARD EVERY YEAR ON CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY....... AND YOUR 2004-2005 SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS ARE................
  12. http://pro-football-reference.com/teams/ You can get season by season scores from games here and career stats from players, but no stats from the individual games. This is the best I can do. If I find something else I'll post the link
  13. The bengals in all honestly should hopefully be "eliminated" next week Week 14 Cincy-Dec 12 @New England 1:00pm It's looking good for us, but like they say 1 game at a time
  14. Hopefully pitt takes chare of business against the jags now. BUT WTG CHARGERS For following the game plan
  15. I think this has been overlooked but I think Mularkey deserves some props. This Bills team has showed a lot of resolve under MM, and as a rookie head coach in 04 has won as many games as gregg williams did last year (his 3rd year as a hc). Hopefully we'll have 4 more victories to come. UP NEXT THE BROWNS
  16. http://patriots.scout.com/2/326360.html All In – Can the Bills run the table this year? By Joe Levit Patriots Insider Date: Dec 4, 2004 Fantasy predictions are a the topic du jour at this point in the season. The New England Patriots are in prime position to be talking about their future in terms of playoff wins and possible loss. The question at this point becomes; Who will the Patriots play in the postseason? Joe Levit, our fantasy football writer takes a look at the top 5 teams in the AFC that are on the bubble. Will it be the Jets, Ravens or will a surprise contender emerge for those vital wildcard slots? All In - Can the Bills run the table this year and make the playoffs? By Joe Levit, Patriots Insider Speculation is a special part of what an NFL season is all about. Dreaming about the playoffs is what fans do, right up until the time their team is mathematically eliminated from postseason contention. This season, a clear team on the rise is the Buffalo Bills. The team sports a 5-6 record at this moment, not even a .500 ball-club, but this unit is playing very well right now, coming fresh off a 38-9 victory over Seattle, and a 37-17 victory over St. Louis the week before. Those are two blowouts, against decent but flawed teams. In the next four games (Miami, Cleveland, Cincinnati, San Francisco), the Bills play opponents with larger flaws. After week 16, when I expect Buffalo to have defeated it's fourth straight opponent, they should have a 9-6 record, and be ready to vie for a spot in the AFC playoffs. That might sound crazy, coming in a conference that currently has two 10-1 teams, three 8-3 teams and two 7-4 teams, not to mention Jacksonville at 6-5. The odds are clearly against the Bills, who may have shot themselves in the foot this year simply by failing to give the football to Willis McGahee at an earlier date. Still, I believe the Bills have more than a fighting chance to make the playoffs, and while I wouldn't call it a likelihood, it is an interesting possibility. To make the mark, the Bills will not only have to win all the rest of their own games, which includes defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 17, but also get tremendous help from other teams. In my opinion, there is already a claim on four playoff spots in the AFC. The Patriots, Steelers, Colts and Chargers are going to be division winners. That assertion will be more solid should the Chargers defeat the Broncos at home this weekend, a scenario I expect to happen. That leaves five teams to fight for the two remaining playoff spots. The Jets, Broncos, Ravens, Jaguars and Bills will be involved in a desperate last five-week run. The teams have this record now: Team Record Jets: 8-3 Broncos: 7-4 Ravens: 7-4 Jaguars: 6-5 Bills: 5-6 Here is how I think these teams will fare in the following five weeks: Week 13 Week 14 Week 15 Week 16 Week 17 Jets W vs. Texans L vs. Steelers L vs. Seahawks L vs. Patriots L. vs. Rams Broncos L vs. Chargers W vs. Dolphins L vs. Chiefs L vs. Titans L vs. Colts Ravens W vs. Bengals W vs. Giants L vs. Colts L vs. Steelers W vs. Dolphins Jaguars L vs. Steelers W vs. Bears L vs. Packers W vs. Texans W vs. Raiders Bills W vs. Dolphins W vs. Browns W vs. Bengals W vs. 49ers W vs. Steelers If this came to pass exactly as described above, the teams would finish with these records: Team Record Bills: 10-6 Ravens: 10-6 Jets: 9-7 Jaguars: 9-7 Broncos: 8-8 Clearly any loss makes the postseason a likely pipe dream for the Bills. They must win out to have a chance to compete. Even under this design, two teams are problematic. My scenario requires four losses in five games for both the Jets and Broncos. This is unlikely to happen, but it could. Let's take a look at those two teams more closely. Jets This team is getting Chad Pennington back soon, perhaps as early as this week, which would be a lift for the offense, and could have this team cruising to the playoffs. Still, the road there will be plenty bumpy. After what should be a victory over the Texans at home, the Jets must face Pittsburgh on the road. They will most likely lose that game. Next is the Seahawks in the Meadowlands. Seattle is a completely unpredictable team this year, playing very well when their offense is rolling, and very poorly when it isn't. If the Seahawks get Shaun Alexander involved early, they have a good chance to defeat the Jets. After that game the Jets face the Patriots, who will probably beat them, even away from Gillette Stadium. In the last week, the Jets must travel to St. Louis. I think the Rams will not be playing for a chance to be in the playoffs at that point, but would love to play the role of spoiler, with nothing better to do. Toughest part of scenario: Losing to the Seahawks at home Broncos If the Broncos beat the Chargers this weekend, it will shatter this whole scheme, because I think the Chargers will make the playoffs either way. Let's say the Chargers do defeat the Broncos, since the game will be in San Diego. Then the Broncos will beat the Dolphins and lose to the Chiefs (a division foe) at Arrowhead. I think they will then surprisingly lose to the Titans as well, on the road and against a team that is talented, will have Steve McNair back at full strength and will be upset at a season of promise that has not been fulfilled. Predicting the Broncos to lose to the Colts is not a reach. Toughest part of scenario: Losing to the Chiefs in a game the Broncos know is important. If the above scenario is to occur, the Bills will have to defeat the tough Pittsburgh Steelers in week 17. I feel that a few factors will help the Bills do that. First, the Bills will have the home-field advantage, which can actually mean something that late in the year and in a real environment. Second, the Bills would at that point be fighting for a playoff opportunity, whereas the Steelers will only be attempting to secure a first-round bye. The motivation would clearly be in the Bills' favor. It's been mentioned a lot lately that the Bills would be looking good if they could swap conferences right about now. But since they can't do that, they will have to take their chances in the rough AFC. If the Bills can complete what would be a righteous run, they would be on a big roll, and one of the most feared teams to face in the playoffs - a team with nothing to lose.
  17. I'm getting a mcgahee jersey for my bday coming up soon, and I just wanted some opinions. Should I get home or away? sorry to waste everyones time with this, but yeah I can't decide
  18. Yes Ray Lewis is losing a step, but he's still a good linebacker, but not the dominating presence the media would have you believe. He'll get his stats cause he has superior talent surrounding him. Terrell Suggs is a beast, and in a defense that features chris mcallister, ed reed, ray lewis, deion sanders you won't hear much about suggs. he's a sack maching with 8.5 sacks. I'd take suggs before anyone on the ravens defense with the exception of ed reed. I'm glad to see in that article you linked that the play of Lawyer Milloy/Adams/Fletcher has been noted. If Milloy was never injured I think the way he's played he'd be a shoe in for the pro bowl, and our record would probably be better as well. Milloy hasn't lost a step at all. He's still a great safety yes great. And our defense is a lot better with him in there. It's also nice to see someone take notice about London Fletcher who imo is our best linebacker. He's constantly around tha ball, and The play I'll remember fletcher most for this year is chasing down santana moss in the 1st jets game. Boy has speed.
  19. I'd rather have Dick Lebeau. Like Someone stated Gray is younger and will be receiving head coaching opportunities within the coming years. Also like Kurt said. Gray seems to get undressed by charlie weis. In fact thats the only offense our defense has had trouble with this season. Not once but twice. I'm sure a lot of that was due to offensive ineptitude, but the defense had their fair share of follies in both the games against the pats this season. Lebeau is a defensive mastermind. His schemes are genius and I think we'd be in a lot better shape playoff picture wise if he was our d coordinator. Not a knock against gray cause he has done more than well, and has for the most part been phenononial at making halftime adjustments. I'd just prefer Lebeau, but Gray is not a bad consolation prize.
  20. The Black Bear is a poster from the buffalo Bills message board at their official website. He'll make Ice look like Martha F'n Stewart (before being arrested) You've been warned
  21. defensively= John Abraham. We need someone to get sacks. He eats quaterbacks for breakfast/Lunch/Dinner Match made in heaven(I'd love to get this guy in free agency.Especially since we don't have a 1st rd pick or I'd be all over drafting Marcus Spears from LSU. offensively= Randy McMichael- The most underrated, underutilzed te in the entire nfl. Great Talent. Imo a top 5 te. Kicker- Mike Nugent OSU.
  22. If We finish 10-6 there is absolutly zero reason whey Bledsoe should not start next year. None, Nadda, Zip, Zilch. Thats a 10-2 finish over the last 12 games of the season and ending the season with a 7 game winning streak. Than you definitly go with Bledsoe. Ride the momentum into next season with what will be a "WIN NOW" season. I get the feeling that ladies gentlemen if we didn't start so poorly we're watching the emmergence of a win now team, thats ready to compete.. Why deny that so we "might" be good 2-3 years down the road waiting for a qb to mature. I believe we are just 1-2 players away from competing for a championship and a 10-6 finish to the season would definitly reafirm this belief for me, that you can win with bledsoe at qb, and that we are capable of challenging. If we however falter and finish worse than 9-7. Anywhere between 5-11-8-8. You hand over the reigns to losman. I think thats fair, and I have a pretty strong belief thats what the bills will do.
