  1. I just hope when in all honesty we go 6-10 with esentially a rookie next season that no one jumps down the kids throat saying "start whoever is the backup". I love this notion that Losman can do no worse than Bledsoe and point to things such as Bledsoes passer rating? How can passer rating even be used in an argument. Can anyone here actually tell me the formula for passer rating. you know for awhile brian moorman and jeff feagles had a higher passer rating than eli manning, that to me tells me all I need to know about passer rating I also love this thing where everyone is assuming Bledsoe is gone.... Well I guess Tom Donahoe said he's gone.... no wait... ralph wilson said it... nope... tom modrak...no... mike mularkey.... no didn't happen either. Darn!!! In fact no one from within the bills organizations has said anything regarding the bledsoe situation latelty. I for one would much rather have Drew Bledsoe who knows the players and the system stay with a restructed salary of course over bringing in someone who quite honestly is worse than drew bledsoe. ala jeff garcia, kelly holcomb, charlie batch, jay fiedler and have bledsoe compete for the starting job. Yes JP Losman is the future. He also is really frail looking. Kind of reminds me of when Tom brady first came into the league in terms of being frail. I like Losmans Potential, I agree he's gotta have a chance. I just find it odd people want to run out the guy who could very well be the best backup we could get. A good team first good character guy. I also never understood the fatuation for one player. To Me as far as I'm concerned football is a team sport. Yes quaterbacks matter but if you don't have talent around said quaterback you're not gonna be very good. Our oline is not of the ilk of the steelers, chiefs, colts, pats, jets etc. I always believed you win starting up front, but I guess I was wrong you apparantly win with a guy with Tremendous Upside potential who's shown nothing other than he seems to be frail, and looked scared against the best defense in the nfl in garbage time by fumbling the ball and throwing a pick all in a matter of 3 plays
  2. There will be plenty of de's available such as 1. Darren Howard- UFA New Orleans Saints. posted 11 sacks and 46 tackles this past season. seems to be the odd man out with the drafting of will smith and charles grant on the other side 2. RFA Alex Brown- Chicago Bears. With Michael Haynes, Ogunleye might be let go all together. Good pass rusher could be had for decent price 3. UFA- Derrick Burgess. The eagles seem to have 40 different defensive ends. Burgess really made a name for himself this post season especially after switching to lde. Him and Howard will probably be the most sought after 4. Kavika Pittman- UFA Carolina Panthers. Obviousily you're not gonna receiver playing time when your on a depth chart that features Mike Rucker and The Best De in the nfl Julius Peppers. Posted 9 sacks in the 2002 season. Last season he was a starter with the denver broncos If These guys aren't your cup of tea maybe the draft will fill the void Such as A Chris Canty, Justin Tuck, Jovan Haye or some white guy with a high motor Anyway the tagging of abraham is no big deal as upgrading de will be possible. I'd go the darren howard or Derrick Burgess route unless we manage to get a #2 for henry than I'd seriousily consider a Justin Tuck who's been an absolute monster pass rusher for the fighting Irish
  3. A thread about dumbest sports quotes and not one mention of mike tyson? anyway I present the Best of Iron Mike "I want to rip out his heart and feed it to Lennox Lewis. I want to kill people. I want to rip their stomachs out and eat their children. " "I can sell out Madison Square Garden masturbating." "I am many things. I am an animal. I am a convicted rapist, a hell-raiser, a loving father, a semi-good husband. You don't really know me." "I have some pain I'm gonna have for the rest of my life. So every now and then I kick your !@#$ing ass" "I want to throw down your kid and stomp on his testicles, and then you will know what it is like to experience waking up everyday as me. And only then will you feel my pain." Theres a lot more but I thought I'd just keep it to a few for now now I'll just fade into Bolivian
  4. Ok I just wanted to start a thread about something not related to bashing Bledsoe and heaping praises upon the "Savoir" so bear with me for a few moments I was just thinking about our team needs and well it struck me we need a #3 wr and a te. Guys who can be called upon outside of Moulds/Evans. To give us a clutch 1st down to sustain a drive or be a threat in the redzone . So I'm gonna throw some names out here, and see if I get some responses on who would be the best fit possible #3wrs 1. David Patten- scheduled to become an ufa in march. Pats might be unwilling to compensate him. Had a very solid year for ne. Amasing 800 yards and 7 tds on 44 receptions. 37 of his 44 receptions went for 1st downs 2. Corey Bradford- UFA kind of got lost in the shuffle in Houston with Andre Johnson/Jabar Gaffney. Another dependable vet. Was injured some this past year but still put up 27 catches for 399 yards and 3 tds. 20 of his 27 catches went for 1st downs. 3. Dane Looker- UFA From St Louis. Had kind of a down year this year from 2003. only 13 catches for 183 yards 7 1st down catches. 2003 stats: 47 catches 495 yards 3 tds 27 1st down receptions. (Now maybe you're high on Sam Aiken or want to give reed another shot, but if patten is available I'd jump all over it that or through the draft. Ala Roscoe Parrish, chris henry, terrance murphy, or mark bradley) TE Free agents 1. Anthony Becht- UFA Claims he wasn't used right. Jet fans claim he's horrible. Personally I agree with both but I'm throwing his name out here anyway. Former 1st rd draft pick had only 13 catches for 100 yards and 1 td. Could be had cheap but I don't think he's an upgrade over our current te's. 2. Freddie Jones- UFA Arizona Cardnials 8 year vet, Who puts up solid #'s every year. 2004 stats 16 45 426 26.6 9.5 40 4.0 16 2 3. Bubba Franks- always felt he can do better than what he's shown in green bay. Great redzone target. Amassed 7 tds on 34 catches for 361 yards. 20 of those 34 catches went for 1st downs. Theres more ufa te's available some of whom will probably be resigned. such as ken dilger(tb), jermaine wiggins(minn.), dave moore(tb), jeb putzier(den) stephen alexander (det). While Te is a definite position we can fill through free agency. Marcus pollard may be cut to save the colts money he's due 4.3 million this coming year, think the draft is also a solid way to go. While obviousily no one of a tony gonzalez jeremey shockey kellen winslow jr ilk is going to be available there are some solid prospects available like:: Alex Smith from stanford. Alex holmes from USC. Dave kashetta from boston college. Eric Knott Michigan State. Now obviousily we need help along the oline as well, but I just figured I'd throw out some ideas about possible places we could look for a #3 wr or te. Anyway the novels over k...thx
  5. Welcome to United Socialist States of America. We're we take your individual freedoms away one at a time, right under your nose, and nobody ejects until next thing you know you have no freedoms anymore. Sure this might not seem like anything big. Infact it might even seem like a good idea, but it infringes on our basic freedoms such as dressing how we want to. I personally think wearing your pants that low looks ridiculious, but to some people thats the style. I wouldn't want to fine them for dressing how they want to dress, just like I wouldn't want someone telling me, what to eat, when to be home, how much to drink, If I can smoke cigarettes or not, who I can sleep with etc etc etc. This is just a shame that citizens of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA "OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND FOR THE PEOPLE" are allowing basic individual freedoms to be taken away. Just wait till they move up and take things away that are more meaningful to you.
  6. this is probably bettis's last hurrah, his last jolt of youth before he's put out to pasture so to speak. Good for Bettis. Willis will have his pro bowls and mvp trophies and all that other fun stuff in what will be his great career, but for now congrats to the Bus
  7. 1. I'd much rather have coy wire back there. He's a good christian man with a positive attitude who cares that he sucks? 2. Don't like wire we always have trusty Pierson prieleiou back there. Oh wait whats that?.... Oh thats just Santana Moss burning Pierson for a pass interference than just plays later a 40 yard td. 3. 2004 Buffalo Bills 11 61 39.0 22 4 2 61 tackles in 11 games? 4 sacks 2 interceptions in just 11 games? That would average to around 90 tackles 6 sacks 3 interceptions over the course of a 16 games season. Milloy was well worth his money, and quite frankly you'd be hard pressed to find a better Strong Safety not Named Ed Reed or Rodney Harrison. I'll take Milloy and his bad attitude as long as he contributes on the field any day of the week, and quite frankly the Buffalo Bills are a better team with Lawyer Milloy than without Lawyer Milloy
  8. It Was Sam Casell's family coming to earth to return him to his home planet. They just decided to stop in hawaii first.
  9. I agree with these points, but 1. Check out the teams ne plays twice in the same season. The second time they meet the running game seems to be non existant, and most teams don't seem to be able to compensate for that lack of a run game. Ne just shuts the run down the second time they play you, and well it's never pretty after that. 2. True but theres another dilema. People can talk about Peyton Manning all they want. I don't see a better qb in the nfl at reading a defense and recognizing where the blitz is coming better than Tom Brady. You can send the house but if you don't get there you're screwed. That and Ne's oline for being underpaid picks up their assignments well. Matt Light absolutly handled the freak tonight, and it forced philly to come with zone blitzes, and the pats started picking them apart in 2nd half. I'd like to add my own 2 cents for what it's worth and it's not much lol 1. I think in order to beat ne you gotta utilize a te. To me it seems when I watch the pats play the teams that have the most success offensivly are the teams that have some type of weapon at the te position. Does it have to be an all star te- no, but an above average threat at that position is needed. 2. This is probably the hardest, but you got to get pressure with your front 4. Ne Loves those quick short passes. If you're forced to have to blitz backers and db's, Brady will just hit those quick slants right where your lb's would've been. 3. Deep passing game. This seems to be the biggest of the pats weaknesses even with ty law and tyrone poole. Hit them deep and do it often. They want you to throw short. It lets their lb's make plays. Remember the basis of running a 3-4 defense is telling you their strength is their lb'ing core. Make their safeties cover deep. To Me it seems the team that is patient and not over oportunistic but takes their chances and doesn't try to get cute is the team that has the best chance to dethrone ne. I know easier said than done, but it's gotta happen eventually right?
  10. I just want to know why pats fans are hanging out at a bills message board after they won their 3rd superbowl in 4 years? I get it they're a dynasty a great team. Now please go to your own message boards. Go out and celebrate.... Go Get drunk and get laid. Just do something thats not here
  11. I never lived in Western Ny or anywhere in New York for that matter, but as far as pro football went. I always identified myself as part of the Buffalo Bills fan base. They were the first team I ever saw play as a small tot, and ever since I've been a fan sporting the red white and blue, and now royal blue of the Blo Bills. If the Bills were to move I would no longer care about the nfl. I'd have no interest in it what so ever. Maybe it's because to me tradition would be broken. Taken one of the original franchises and moving them to canada or La would break that tradition and I just couldn't root for an La team, and well I don't think the nfl should ever have a canadian or mexican team. It's fine the way it is now.
  12. if it's henry for surtain. I'd do it and wouldn't think twice henry for madison no thank you. While I'd much rather a trade with henry to the dolphins being for randy mcmichael I wouldn't pass on one of the top corners in the nfl in pat surtain.
  13. I wouldn't read too much into this. It's speculation from The Buffalo news. We've heard zilch about bledsoe from dallas news related sources. Truth be told we don't really know if parcells wants bledsoe. Maybe I'm wrong but I think awhile back Jerry Jones said something to the effect that they won't bring in a veteran qb unless Interceptaverde retires.
  14. The reason I think we need to draft a rb and safety respecitvly are as follows 1. Mcgahee- While he showed what he can do this past year, and I believe he will only get better. The fact remains he has durability issues yet. The what if's are always gonna be there, and I'd rather be prepared for those what if's by bringing in someone who can shoulder the load. Shaud Williams while a good change of pace back, can't do this neither can Joe Burns 2. Safety- Izell Reese Gone, Coy Wire- Good special teams players not a guy you want as your future strong safety. Pierson Priaelou- good in blitz packages, and ok backup. Issues with what he costs against the cap. Rashad Baker- I love the kid but he is more of a fs, who will see playing in different situations, but the biggest reason is. Milloy probably won't be around that much longer, so it would be nice if we can bring someone in through the draft have them under tutelage for a year or 2 and than hopefully go from there.
  15. My ideal draft would be trading henry to tampa for their 2nd. This way tampa can draft lb in the 1st. Quarles is getting up their in age, and they could use some depth, and get a proven rb in the 2nd, instead of going for the unkown quanity. This way now my draft would go as follows 2nd Rd- 1. og- Elton Brown Virgina 6'6 338 204 HONORS WATCH: One of 12 semifinalists for the Lombardi Award ... Outland Trophy candidate ... All-America candidate ... All-ACC candidate. Monster run blocker. Can Improve in pass protection. 2. Rb- Eric Shelton Louisvile- Trading Henry Leaves us with a dilema. Now while Willis is a great back. It doesn't get much better than this if you want a 1/2 combo to be a smash mouth team 6'3 250lb 4.5 40, but we can still fill holes in the oline in the following round. This just gives us an insurance policy if willis god forbid gets hurt. 3rd Rd OT-Anthony Alabi TCU- 6'6 323 5.3 40. He was 1st team All-Conference USA and his senior season, Alabi was named to the Lombardi Watch List as one of the nation's finest linemen. Great movmenet, and quickness of feet. Mirrors de's. Might have trouble against stronger de's. 4h rd Cb- Ronald Bartell Howard College- 6'2 203lbs 4.40 40. Didn't play against great competition but has great size and speed. Phsyical and agressive corner college stats TOTALS - 212 2 30 4/1 5th rd K- Dave Rayner Michigan St. - Look at this no mike nugent and we still get a good kicker Strengths: Has a great leg...Can hit from 50+ yards and as long as 55...Pretty accurate...Also excels as a kickoff specialist...Has had a very productive career. 2004-39 39 100.0 22 31 71.0 2/2 11/13 2/3 5/6 2/7 53 105 6th rd wr- Rasheed Marshall West Virgina- Could be our slash 6'1 190 4.5 40 Notes: Played quarterback his senior season for the Mountaineers but will have to shift to wideout at the pro level, a la someone like Antwaan Randle El...Intriguing developmental prospect. 7th rd S- Jermaine Harris South Carolina 6'4 210lbs 4.6 40. Great Size. Very Physical Loves to hit. Average Speed. Not much of a playmaker. Prety one dimensional. Nephew of Franco Harris. May need to be in the right scheme to succeed, I love his size. Maybe some tutoring under Milloy could help hime define his game and improve in some areas. Anyways it was kind of hard and only the 1st mock I ever did so try to go easy on me lol as I tried my best with my limited college football knowledge
  16. The Godfather 1 and 2 are simply imo the best movies ever made. From The doning pardon the pun of Michael Corleone in The 1st to the rise and fall of the Corleone family and life of young vito in Godfather 2. Simply put it's an epic masterpiece. I could've done without the 3rd one though. Given the two choices listed I'd chose lotr as I simply do not and have never liked star wars.
  17. Sebastian Janikowski #11 | Kicker | Oakland Raiders Height: 6-2 Weight: 250 Born: Mar 2, 1978 - Walbrzych, Poland College: Florida State Draft: 2000 - 1st round (17th pick) by the Oakland Raiders
  18. IMO Couch is just not worth it, unless he's completly healthy. He's had serious injury problems. Was cut by the packers, was gonna be given a chance by the bears and couldn't even make their team, and wtf did they have Johnathan quinn medicine woman and chad hutchinson? If he was healthy he would've been picked up. Maybe it's an option to look at, but I question the guys heart and motivation and durability. I'd look elsewhere. Hoping Bledsoe stays or Matthews stays or going after someone young much like JP who's also mobile, someone like Mike McMahon. Personally I hope Bledsoe stays. I'm not a big fan of messing up chemistry with a year under mularkey and a 9-7 finish to the season. Open competition between Drew and JP is the best way to go I believe.
  19. I say we trade travis henry, for your long white twisted ear hair and the 50 year old fetus
  20. I'm pretty sure It was Ross Tucker who took over at lg, after teague came back and him and Lawrence Smith split some time at lg until Tucker became the starter. I don't remember Mcfarland playing at all.
  21. This is good news, but I have mixed feelings on it. On one hand it would be nice to get rid of the Bill Belichick is in bledsoes head stuff, and improve the speed of our offense, as I believe the offense Mike Mularkey wants to run, you need a qb with some mobility who can escape the pocket and throw on the run. I also believe losman has all the potential in the world, but as much as some people hate DB, this is a step back, and quite honest I'll be shocked if we get to 9-7 with losman starting, but we obviousily drafted him for a reason, so we might as well see what he has. Now I'm also not one of those people who want to dump Bledsoe but if we are ready to go with Losman and Drew doesn't want to play backup, I'd talk to Shane Matthews about returning, or bring in a gus frerotte. While a little strange (the head butting incident) He's an ok qb , and could fill in if need be. If by some chance some team is interested in Drew to start. I wouldn't just cut Bledsoe either, gauge their interest and trade him. I still think drew has enough talent to be worth a 4th or 5th. Anyway it's good to see the Bills are acknowldging that it's time they start looking towards the future, and are willing to cut rope.
  22. QB-Aaron Brooks- Despite the !@#$ups they show on sportscenter. I've had this guy on my fantasy teams the past few years, has one of the best td-int ratios in the league. Would be better served if he had a real coaching staff and a reliable receiver outside of joe horn. Qb- Trent Green- Has been putting up stats with the best of them for the past few years and no one seems to notice, and his wr's are who eddie kennison and johnnie morton? lol rb- corey dillon- seriousily has been overlooked his entire career. I guess thats what playing in cincy does for ya. Would have much better stats if he landed on a better team. rb-Warrick Dunn- smallish back but plays bigger than his Size. You would think most of his long runs are on sweeps and you'd be wrong. They usually come right through the gut. wr- Jimmy Smith-Cut by dallas in 92 and philly in 94, landedwith jacksonville in 95. Now 35 years old and still putting up stats on a run oriented offense. one of the more productive wr's in well the last decade. wr- Rod Smith- same reasons as Jimmy Smith te- Itula Mili- has been a reliable option for hasselbeck the last 3 years in seattle. te- Jason dunn(kc)- not much of a receiver, but a devestating run blocker and good in pass protection. One of the key cogs in KC'S red zone offense especially in the run game
  23. This game is officially a joke. 24-3. Ne showing why they were favored to win this game. It really seems ne is eons ahead of the rest of the NFL
  24. This is just ne's Exhibition game before the superbowl God I can't stand the patriots, I really hate this team, but you gotta respect the hell out of them. It's just not right that they can be that good. I want to feel some of that sucess. to Know what it's like to just win 1 superbowl.
