I am watching the 3rd day of Senior Bowl practice right now and I am really impressed by this kid. He is a big body who knows how to go get a ball when it is up in the air. from what I can see, he is projected to go in rounds 2-4. Mayock said he is a capable blocker but a strong Red Zone threat. He had 57 receptions for 563 yards and 9 TD's last season. I think he would be a great player for us if we were able to get him in the 3rd and a no brainer in the 4th. Any Penn State fans have an opinion on him?

The more I hear about him and his inaccuracy, the more I am hoping we do not end up drafting him. He sounds more like Ryan Mallet every day...

For sure! I have a friend that is an NFL coach and one season he was fired along with the head coach and other coaches, so he went to the Senior Bowl just to network etc...

Pretty solid plan. I do think we will be active players in free agency this year and hope that Star Lotulelei is one of our signings. I would prefer Sony Michel over Chubb but he will probably go in the early half of the second round. I'd be ok with Smith or another veteran place holder, as long as we draft the "future" QB and start developing him too.

I will be trying to lose the 20 or so pounds I gain every season by drinking too many beers and eating too many wings. I hope to be ready to start over in time for training camp.

Exactly! it doesn't always take a bunch of obvious calls to make a game one sided from the officials, just a missed call here and there and one or two big momentum swings against the opponent or for the Pats*. I am not saying the team isn't talented, but I am saying that they get a bit more than their fair share of assistance from the zebras. Not bad for a bunch of handsy maulers.

Such a cold take. Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward. None of the players we traded or let go would have gotten us to the Super Bowl any time soon, if ever. It feels good to see the team moving forward with what appears to be a plan vs another band aid solution.

Yes, they are so great that they only had ONE penalty called on them the entire game. That is the fewest penalties called on a team in the playoffs since 2011, when the Patriots* beat the Ravens in the AFC Championship game. So yes, it is a little easier to be great when you don't have to worry about having the officials take away your momentum, like every other team in the NFL does.

He also likely watched a great deal of tape on the defenses that they played against which means he may also be able to provide good intel on some of the top defenders in this draft.
