  1. Ranks Rastro Good to see the QB's not suck for a change
  2. I'd say yes. That said, with a post above mentioning Sterling Sharpe, that man deserves to be in canton
  3. Probably. Maher to a fault is very outward with his beliefs and at times is as annoying as Tebow about it. As an agnostic, I try not to be in your face about my beliefs. I get a lot of crap from certain people who call an atheist, without understanding my belief. That said, when I coach kids, I use a non-denominational prayer in pregame/pre-meet (volleyball/track) to rally the troops that doesn't use the word god or any prophet that I had picked up from one of my predecessors. With regards to AF, it is ballsy of him to come out with his beliefs, as it has been the norm for players to praise God, Jesus, or Allah for their successes (or in SJ13's case failures) for the longest time. This is symptomatic of more people in the states identifying less as a member of one faith and as agnostic, atheist, or no faith.
  4. my one fantasy team name last year was Bring Back Marangi. That said I have said this for years. Draft a guy, if he isn't ready, let him sit until he is ready to beat out a vet. We haven't let a guy do this since Kelly went to the minor league of USFL before coming to the NFL ready and polished enough to kick ass. clod tollins inherited the job from Kelly and beat out Billy Joe Hobert, Johnson couldn't beat out Flutie, Losman was given the job when we released Bledsoe, Edwards was the closest to my belief (freaking Adrian Wilson and Dick rushing him back in too soon), and we all know about EJ being toyed around by St. Doug. If EJ or Tyrod can't get it done this year, we have to get a competent vet (sorry cassel is not that anymore with his Holcomb-esque arm) and draft another guy and repeat. That said, Rex won a lot with Santhez, we may be able to make do with slightly subpar QB play.
  5. click on last post and go back a few pages from there. edit: there is this too:
  6. I can't believe people are arguing over how many picks the Bills gave up or used to get Watkins. If Watkins was already in the league and we gave up two first rounders and a fourth, everyone would agree that the Bills gave up three picks to get him. It would still be a net of two players, but we gave up three picks to get one guy. Just because we traded to get the pick to draft, it is irrelevant. The Bills gave up three picks to get Sammy, not two. Good god, there are some dummies here that need to be buckled in to a crashing car.
  7. Based on what I saw yesterday, I'd be inclined to agree. It looks like he has no zip on his passes anymore.
  8. +1 Listening to that drivel on the way back to Buffalo was making me yearn for the positivity of Fox News during an Obama presser.
  9. Thanks Stroh! I was at Fisher today as well. Some of the things that caught my eye: Fred and Thigpen catching returns high with hands as opposed to the conventional underscoop. It was weird not seeing the kickers do a whole lot today (Carpenter hurt and most return practice via throws or jug machines) We may very well have the deepest RB core in the NFL as Brown, Karlos, and Boobie all look the part, which may not bode well for Freddy. Gragg still can't catch a cold let alone a football. Nobody can cover Sammy on the short routes Sammy will look for flag if bumped the slightest in the deep routes QB's footwork: Tyrod and Cassel looked good, Simms passable, EJ dances around more now than he did as a rookie. Against no coverage, Cassel looked rough throwing against the wind, EJ and Tyrod looked better on the short/intermediate routes. 11v11 Tyrod looked really good with the #2's today. Cassel looked like Captain Checkdown, Manuel was overthrowing the deep ball down the middle. Cassel seemed to have less zip on his throws than the others, and Simms has a strong arm with limited accuracy. The receivers not named Clay, Watkins, Woods, or Harvin were generally awful today and made the QB's look bad early in practice with some bad drops, Goodwin especially. John Miller is one large man, hopefully his injury is minor. My impression was that Taylor was the sharpest and Cassel was the weakest today.
  10. I know it is semi-blasphemous, but Jim Kelly. He dated my cousin back in the 80's before Jill. I won't go into details, but he left a very sour opinion among my family. Thurman was cool when drinking back in the day (signed my cards, as I was dragged out of bed in the middle of the night as my mom was tending the bar), but was my buddy's boss and a dick to him.
  11. That is scumbaggish on her part. Instead of being a grown up and messaging him back or ignoring him, she publicly embarrassed him. I guarantee that Duke is not the only guy that messages her like that.
  12. I do think that the Giants and Browns are a tad overrated on that list. Also, I still don't understand the reverence for Troy Aikman 25 years later. He really wasn't as good as reputation. He was a caretaker QB that only threw more than 20 TD's in a season once.
  13. Teams can put a non-exclusive franchise tag on a player as a way to retain or to get a highway robbery trade like Donahoe did with Peerless Price to Atlanta. If a team places a non-exclusive franchise tag they can get up to two 1st's in return.
  14. EJ Manuel= The QB the Bills fan didn't want to draft in the first round.
  15. 1. Orenthal 2. Thurman 3. Cookie 4. Freddie 5. Henry Space left intentionally after Thurman, as no one comes closes to him or the killer.
  16. Fitzy, just on the basis that Cassel got his big break with Spygate Pats* and even when knowing the defense was doing he still was sacked more than any other QB that year. He then lost his gig at KC to Brady Quinn and then was seen as a less viable option to Christian Ponder at Minnesota.
  17. I disagree with that notion as Bowman was good that year, but benefited from Willis beside him much like Hughes benefits from Williams, Williams, and Dareus. That said, in my lifetime, the biggest snubs from the HOF that should be in are Sharpe and Terrell Davis. That said, Patrick Willis was a great linebacker year in and year out. You don't get voted First Team NFL for being just good, let alone 5 times. He should be a HOF'er for his great play, as a QB would be if he were a 5-time First Team NFL winner.
  18. I was gonna say she was doing Super Bowl coverage with Johnny Weir. I have no idea why, but yeah it happened. Tara Lipinski will have a steady gig critiquing teenage girls on ice as long as she wants.
  19. I'd be okay with Jackson as well. He did well with cluster !@#$ Raiders with the cryptkeeper's fingerprints all over the place still.
  20. I think it was a mutual decision to leave. If Peligula wanted Marrone here, then an extension would have been worked out.
