  1. That works too. I was more looking towards finding instant starters at key positions. I would buy into either Tebow or McCoy with that late first pick.
  2. What if the Bills went with the best player available in the first and selct Dez Bryant? Does he not fill a major need? Then they try to move up to get their 3/4 NT, Terrence Cody. Switch Bills' 2nd with Chargers' 1st by trading them Lynch? The Bills could then send their 3rd round pick plus next years 2nd to the Ravens for their LT, Gaither. 4th rounder you use on a young QB with a very good arm like Brown or Skelton. 5th round send to the Redskins for a one year experiment in Campbell, may take another pick next year 4th rounder maybe? So there you have it... WR BRYANT...check NT CODY...check LT GAITHER...check QB...question mark...but there's still three chances for success Campbell, 4th round rookie QB, QB in the 1st round of the 2011 draft. I know I'm going to get blasted for this one, but hey I'm not married to any one pick yet and I'm just trying to think out of the box here. I fear the Bills will not be able to get the top two LTs and if they will have to look at another position, why not the best guy which fills a need?
  3. I can't get upset at what a guy might do, but what he's done in the past sometimes matters a whole lot. I didn't know that Whitner beat up his girlfriend. I never wanted him to be picked by the Bills in the first place and have been one of his biggest critics ever since the bust got here. I now don't like him even more. But a one time, completely random "incident" is one thing. A long rap sheet like Marshall's is another. I still can't get over the media white washing of this guy. I have yet to hear anyone mention the specifics of repeated violence against women or even the case regarding the assaulting of a police officer. It's all sunshine and lollipops with Marshall and the media with them using catch phrases like he has a "troubled past". Troubled past???? I don't understand why it's so hands off with this guy. Since he's still walking the streets, he's free to get with any team that will have him, I'm just glad the Bills weren't on the list of possible teams.
  4. You're the one who was wishing for a known women beater on the Bills, and now you're saying that I'M the one with serious and deep issues? Your lack of self-awareness is simply amazing. As far as "morals" goes. There's mistakes and knuckleheadedness, and then there's women beaters, rapists and dog killers. Apparently you're the one who doesn't have any sort of filter when it comes to the degrees of seriousness in regards to poor player behavior. I can forgive the drug stuff, I was even forgiving of Marshawn's gun in the trunk of his car. But there are some things that bother me to the point that I would never want the guy on the Bills. Marshall, Vick and Rothlesberger fall into that category. Take it or leave it, but my suggestion is that you rethink what behavior is acceptable to you as a Bills fan.
  5. While you didn't specifically say you wished the Bills could have traded for scumbag Marshall, you really didn't have to after writing this... "I'm also sick of hearing everyone use the excuse "he has off the field issues, I don't want him here". That is the biggest load of BS." "If they help you win, who !@#$in cares." ...and you call me the embarrassment? Anyone who lays their hand on a women is a coward, and any fan who pines away on a message board for a coward like that is pathetic. Do us a favor, go root for your boy and become a Miami fan.
  6. For the sake of argument, let's just say that a third of these were cases of domestic violence against women. That's about 160 reported incidents in 10 years out of 4000 players in the decade who wore an NFL uniform. That's certainly not a lot. I would bet you that 0 of these 4000 players had 11 domestic disturbance calls in a four year period. The fact that you're still pinning away for this scumbag tells me that you're beyond help at this point.
  7. I've got to believe that Bills will select either Brian Bulaga or Anthony Davis. Here are couple of Davis article links... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1272306 http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/landing/?bl...&feedID=692 Davis started mid freshman year and has been dominant at his position ever since. His immaturity can be attributed to his being only 20 years old. He just may end up being the best LT in this draft. Hopefully the Raiders won't select him as the fourth LT off the board.
  8. Would you say that if Marshall beat the s**t out of your sister? Please go ahead and list all the players currently in the NFL who have been charged with beating up a women. That have had the police called to their house 11 times in the past 4 years. You will find that your thought process of it happening "all the time" is warped to say the least. Maybe you're too young to remember OJ Simpson. Former Buffalo Bill who murdered and nearly cut the head off his women and the man she had the nerve to be attracted to. He had a history of the police coming over his house on a domestic disturbance call. If you're too young and don't remember this than I'm sorry for my going off on you like this. You seriously didn't just compare Tiger's mental abuse against women to Marshall's violence against women? I'm not a Tiger fan and those people that were clapping only proved that there are a ton of idiots living here. I'm here to cut down the idiots in this thread like yourself who are aghast that the Bills didn't go after a scumbag "dude" like Marshall. But I guess it's the stupid MTV world we are all living in where a guy like Owens (who to my knowledge has never hit a women) is given much worse press than a true thug like Marshall.
  9. You're the one who needs to grow up. Rationalizing this scum's repeated violent behavior against women by listing other criminal behavior by NFL players is stupid and immature. I am amazed that this guy's past has been so white washed to the point where no one in the media even brings these incidents up other than saying something like he has a "troubled" past. He really belongs in jail with a rap sheet as long as he has.
  10. Calling assaulting a police officer and multiple batteries against females merely "issues" is, how did you put it?...the biggest load of BS. It's amazing that a scumbag like this still gets the opportunity to play in this league. What's even more amazing is that the media gives him a pass by politely framing his violent past against women as merely "issues". But hey, maybe multiple battery charges against women is something that's cool with you.
  11. Problem child, just read the part called "Legal Trouble"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Marshall ASSAULTING POLICE OFFICER ASSUALTING GIRLFRIEND DUI 11 CALLS TO HIS HOME BY POLICE SINCE 2006 BATTERY 2008 BATTERY AGAINST FIANCE 2009 ...and now he's going to Miami, FL. As for the Jets, they acquired another lowlife in Holmes. I'm sure living in the NYC area will really straighten him out <sarcasm off>.
  12. False, those comments were reported on in the Cleveland Plain Dealer on March 21st, not this past Sunday... http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/...and_browns.html Holmgren has met with Clausen and those comments were definitely put out there as a smokecreen. This isn't Holmgren's first time at the rodeo.
  13. Which is why he'll end up being a right tackle in the NFL.
  14. Logic says Clausen isn't going to slip past Cleveland. It's a pretty obvious pick for Holmgen. He'll want his guy to build around, not a washed up Jake Delhomme. Clausen will be a starter from day one.
  15. It was clear to me Clausen would be the Brown's pick a few days ago after reading about Clausen's pro day and the fact that Holmgren spent a good amount of time with him. Holmgren just has to sweat out the KC (Weis connection) and Seattle (opportunity for solid replacement for Hassellback) picks. I agree with the OP that Bills fans shouldn't even worry about Clausen, unless they feel there's a chance the Bills would move up to get him.
  16. The Bills have as good or better roster than the teams picking ahead of them in the draft. As for giving credence to ProFootball Talk's cries of Jauron overachieving with this club, it's pathetic to me. The guy was 3-6 and probably wouldn't have won another game if they didn't fire him. Why is this so hard to understand? I'm shocked that there are still Dick Jauron apologists here. Truly amazing.
  17. Yes they did, that's why they were considered WORSE teams than the Bills. I know it may seem hard for you to believe, but there are more than a hand full of NFL teams with worse rosters than the Bills. For proof, just look at where the Bills are selecting in the up coming draft. You should seriously consider giving up your defense of Dick Jauron. Back in the day, I'm sure there were some Jet fans defending Rich Kotite after he was kicked to the curb. You don't want to be one of those guys now, do you?
  18. There is no argument, he was horrible. End of story. 90% of Dick's wins were against teams that had worse talent than the Bills. Add in the fact that the guy always played "close to the vest, let the other team make a mistake and hope it's close and you catch a break in the fourth quarter" eyes meltingly ugly brand of football, what does that tell you? Please get a grip, you're better than this.
  19. Hopefully this is the last Dick Jauron apology we Bills fans will ever have to be subjected to. In his three plus years here Jauron proved to be every bit the colossal loser head coach that the Bears fans warned us about. The Bills had one of the easiest schedules in the NFL last year and there was Dick's team losing to a bottom dweller club like Cleveland at home in Ralph Wilson Stadium. Dick was 3-6 and this team was heading towards a 5 win season. Perry Fewell was the guy responsible for getting the Bills to that 7-9 record. Anyone still making apologies for Dick Jauron's failures should consider themselves a moron.
  20. While what you're saying may well be true, if Berry is there the Bills have to take him. A wise man once said that you can never have enough DBs.
  21. Ummmm...Clausen had an excellent pro day and will not last past the Browns who hold the 7th pick, let alone fall into the second round. Delhomme? Wallace? Holmgren is not going to be hitching his wagon to these QBs. Holmgren's public questioning of Clausen was a ploy in hopes that KC and Seattle could be scared off and pass on him.
  22. Dude has serious alligator arms, no athleticism and will never become an adequate long term solution at left tackle for any team. However, this guy will be a very good to great right tackle. I hope the Bills stay away from drafting Bulaga and pick another player with much more of an upside and who's impact would be much much greater on the team. A guy like that defensive tackle, Dan Williams.
  23. Fitz is better than Edwards. Fitz has proven he can actually throw a touchdown pass in weather below 35 degrees with a wind over 10 miles an hour. Anyways, Campbell throws a better deep ball than Edwards. He throws more TD passes than Edwards. Don't see how they could be neck and neck.
  24. I never said that I thought "Campbell is so good". But I think it's a good match for both player and team. The Bills should absolutely look into acquiring a veteran QB like Campbell who's learning curve was still on the upswing before his team decided to trade for McNabb. The Bills are in a different situation than one of the premier teams like Washington. They're not going have any QB of note wanting to come here as a free agent. So they're either going to have to hit on a long shot like Campbell, a second rounder like Tebow, a 3rd to 4th round QB, or they're going to have to have a 2 win season to get the "franchise" guy in the draft. I don't see the Bills having that kind of a season in the next few years. I'm definitely on board with the Bills getting a guy like Campbell who would be their starter in 2010 with the caveat that they drafted a qb like Tebow or a 3rd to 4th round QB to groom for the future. Campbell, Tebow, Brohm. Good young group of QBs to work with.
  25. Because we're all tired of watching Edwards and Fitzy fail, Campbell did throw 20 TDs with a horrible line in Washington, and finally, we don't want to throw whichever rookie qb we get out of Tebow, McCoy, Crompton, Skelton and Brown to the wolves in 2010. It would basically be a one year audition situation for Campbell and allows the team to bring along a guy they drafted. However, I don't think the Bills shouldn't be giving away their 4th round pick this year. They should offer their 5th and nothing more.
