  1. Gladly, Mort said that when you're "impatient" like Ralph has been, mediocrity is what you get. It's a moronic statement towards an owner who showed extreme patience when he kept Dick Jauron on as his head coach after 3 straight dismal, ugly and unemotional losses to end the 2007 season. Anyone who agrees with Mort on this point were probably the ones arguing with me in 2007 when I was calling for Dick to be fired when it became crystal clear to me and every intelligent football fan on the planet that the guy was a loser.
  2. Really? Ralph stuck with a known loser head coach in Dick Jauron for 4 years. Jauron had lost 4 out of 5 years with Chicago and kept him after having three extra straight losing seasons with the team he owns. Ralph was being the very definition of a patient owner by keeping Dick Jauron for the 2009 season. It's hypocritical for Mort to rip the Bills' owner for being impatient when the teams in his own division like the Jets and Dolphins blow the f'n s*** up at the first sign things aren't working out. Meanwhile us Bills fans were being force fed "the Buffalo Bills need CONTINUITY" b**s*** line year after stinking Dick Jauron year because they obviously felt we are all saps. Patience and awful hires have been Ralph's 2 main faults as an owner. Mort is a dope for making that statement.
  3. Just thought of something. The Bills will probably need that 4th round pick to move up into the end of the 1st round to be assured getting Tebow. So say the Raiders select Clausen with their 8th, the Bills should offer up a "conditional" 5th round pick, with the condition being that the Redskins get our 4th round pick in the 2011 draft if Campbell takes over 75% of the Bills snaps in the 2010 season. The Redskins will be sorely running out of options if the Raiders pick Clausen.
  4. I can certainly agree with that assessment.
  5. I think that the Bills have enough talent that they would not be drafting in the top five pick "franchise QB range" in the next few years anyways. So I would not be against bringing in Campbell for a fourth. Even if they did draft Tebow with their second, it gives the Bills and Campbell a one year audition. We'll either have an established QB in Campbell (he had better have a really good year for that to happen), Tebow ready to start the following year, or the Bills would be pretty much forced to draft a "young gun" in the first round of the 2011 draft. As a Bills fan, I'd like having those options.
  6. Apparently Ralph Wilson is getting his just desserts due to his "impatience" after his firing of Mort's buddy Tom Donahue after five awful years, and the firing of Dick Jauron after four awful years. "I'm not afraid to say this...but, when you're (Ralph Wilson) impatient, like he has been, this (mediocrity) is what you get. You've had too many changes..." http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=buf But it's ok when the Jets fire Mangini after having a winning record with 2 out of 3 winning seasons, plus a playoff birth...and the Dolphins fire a head coach after one year. Having well founded criticisms is one thing, calling Ralph impatient is like calling Mort unbiased. What a jerk this guy is, unbelievable that he's still employed with this kind of hack job stuff.
  7. If the big three are gone then I would think it would be Campbell or a defensive player/pass rusher like Morgan, Graham or Kindle. Trading back is also a big possibility if the big three are gone.
  8. He won't be there. I've read that Saffold is rising up the draft boards into the late 1st, early 2nd round. I really do not see this guy lasting until the Bills 41st pick. Brown won't be there either. If the Bills are looking for a starting OT then they will have to pick one in the 1st whether they stick at #9 or trade down. Okung Williams Bulaga Campbell Iupati Davis Brown Saffold Mark it down, ALL will be gone by pick 41.
  9. I saw a mock today that has Tebow going to the Saints. This whole "Tebow going here, going there" stuff is going to be used as a ruse by every team to try and fish a qb deficient team like Buffalo back into the first round for draft picks. The Bills are NOT going to be picking Tim Tebow in the first. They will either select one of the top three OTs, take a chance on OTs like Campbell or Davis, pick a pass rushing defensive player like Morgan or Graham, or trade back. If Tebow is there at pick 41, fine. If not, that's fine too. There will be a guy like Crompton or Skelton in the fourth to select who have much better arms than Tebow. Jason Campbell might still be able to be had with a fourth or fifth round pick. I hope the Bills aren't going to let themselves be used and abused this draft by giving up prime picks in a desperate move up into the first for a project qb.
  10. This is shaping up to be one wild ride for Bills fans. I've never had so many questions about what this team should do leading up to a draft as this one. Here they are... Why is Brandon Graham not being considered as a top ten player in this draft? The guy was a man among boys in the Senior Bowl and his stats at Michigan suggests that it wasn't a fluke game. Why isn't Sergio Kindle considered a top ten guy? He seems like a monster Pittsburgh 3-4 LB type. Why no love for this guy? Who should the Bills draft if the top three LT prospects are gone? I've come to the conclusion that here is NO consensus here and I've seen about six or seven names thrown out there. If the Big three LTs are gone do they take a solid OL prospect like Iupati, or roll the dice on a questionable guy like Davis or Campbell? One thing I believe, if the Bills do not take an OT in the 1st round the top guys will be all gone by the 2nd round. This includes Brown, Saffold and Ducasse. Rams (1st rd QB), Lions (1st rd DT), and Tampa (1st rd DT) will all go offensive line if given the chance. What is it about Clausen that repels people from regarding him as a franchise QB? Will Tebow last till the Bills' second round pick? What's plan B? Campbell, Crompton, Skelton, Brown? Is Dez Bryant the next Andre Johnson? Is CJ Spiller the next Chris Johnson? If so, and if the Bills are screwed out of a getting a premiere LT prospect, shouldn't they at least be considered at #9 regardless of the Bills needs?
  11. Oh please, other than Tim Tebow, I'd say about 90% of the people on this board are basing their opinion of players on what they've read because they've never seen them play. Not a lot of college football gurus here at TSW, that's for sure. If you have the time to follow college football as much as the Buffalo Bills and the NFL than you need to get a life.
  12. I'd take Graham over Bulaga at #9, in a heartbeat. We need an impact football player in the 1st, not just a road grader "Buffalo kind of guy" who projects as a RT.
  13. Ok, that's not what Lombardi and Casserly were saying last night on the NFL channel's Path to the Draft. They were saying that his stock is falling because he is limited athletically in regards to the LT position. That he projects more as a RT. I think that if they had felt that this was totally hogwash then they would have never mentioned it. While they were talking about him they were showing his combine drills and the guy looks very stiff and non-athletic. In today's NFL, you must be athletic to be a good LT. I'm just going by what these guys are saying and what I saw on the video. After hearing and seeing this, I do not want the Bills to draft Bulaga at #9. I'd much rather have them draft the best player available (Kindle, Morgan, Clausen, Bryant, Spiller).
  14. Except for one of them being athletic part, yeah they're exactly the same.
  15. Lombardi and Casserly said that all of the NFL people they've talked said he was probably going to end up being a right tackle. That his LT production on the college level will not translate to that of the pros. His stock is falling and he'll probably be there at #9 for good reason. The Bills should not be drafting a right tackle as a top ten pick. They need to either draft the best player available or try to trade back.
  16. Since when is taking a right tackle with the #9 pick filling a huge need? We need a left tackle and Bulaga is being projected as a right tackle leading up to this draft. I heard it on the NFL channel last night. Robert Gallery II, no thanks. If T. Williams isn't there, the Bills should draft BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE or try to trade back.
  17. I was watching the NFL channel yesterday and there is a growing feeling that Bulaga is another Robert Gallery. Another Iowa tackle who was coached up in college better than he will end up being at the NFL level. They said that many GMs feel he will end up as a RT. Picking a RT at #9 would not be a smart move. The Bills need to get an impact "pro bowl" type player at the top ten spot. Hopefully the Bills will get to select Williams, draft another position (Clausen, Kindle, Spiller, Bryant, Morgan?) or attempt to trade back in the first and pick Iupati. Just say no to a RT at #9.
  18. ...and you call me a simpleton???? If they feared him being on the Skins they would have never made the trade regardless of the "touching" sentiments. At this point in his career, McNabb is an above average (I'd say 10th best in the league) system QB. Nothing more, nothing less. The infatuation with McNabb here is weird.
  19. Dude, his team just traded him to a division rival. Get the feeling that even THEY don't think all that much of him? Yet fans here like you still think he is this great qb. He was great in 2004, and he was a very good qb before that year. But since then he has been an above average qb that continues to get adoration as if he were still a top five guy. He's not. He's overrated and the Bills are much better for him not wanting to come here. I would much rather have the unknown rookie qb in Clausen, then the known close to a has been and who never won the big one even when he was good in McNabb.
  20. A QB can make an offensive line look better than it is. The same can not be said in reverse. The Bills have not had an opportunity like this since Kelly was drafted in the mid 80s. Unless the guy has killed someone or beaten women and children then the Bills should draft Clausen and send the Redskins a gift basket for making the trade for the overrated McNabb.
  21. Or maybe it's the first big break this franchise has seen since before the Buffalo Bills kicked off of at the end of the MCM game.
  22. Hey don't worry, he has a plan. He's going to pass on Clausen and draft "a QB later on."
  23. Philly fans didn't want McNabb, McNabb didn't want you, the Bills now have a definite possibility of drafting a franchise QB in the first...so I have to ask, why do you care so much about Philly and their fans????
  24. So after getting turned down by a franchise QB in McNabb to play for their team, you want the Buffalo Bills to pass on Jimmy Clausen (the only franchise QB left after Bradford) in this years draft? When exactly do the Buffalo Bills finally find the guy who replaces Jim Kelly? You should be kissing the football gods' feet if he were somehow there at #9. Some of you people are certifiable.
  25. Absolutely agree. The Bills are in no position to turn down a QB with Clausen's credentials. I read that the negative chatter on him is mainly anti-Notre Dame stuff. Chances are slim that they'll get that chance anyways, since Clausen will go to either the Redskins or the Rams (if there is a trade down with Washington). One way or the other I think the Bills will hope to get their hands on either Clausen in the first or Tebow in the second.
