Bills fans should take Ryan Fitzpatrick seriously...
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At 0-5. this year is no longer about wins, it's now about individual performances. It's about who are 2010 versions of the Andre Reed, Pete Metzelaars, Jim Ritcher, and Darryl Talleys of the Bills roster circa 1985. Bruce Smith obviously wasn't going anywhere. -
Why do the Bills change all O-Line positions

It's a mystery as to why Wood is not being made our center for the next 10 years. I see him as Kent Hull 2.0. -
Bills fans should take Ryan Fitzpatrick seriously...
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew I'd get some serious blow back with this thread, but I wanted to open up some minds with his recent numbers. Fitzpatrick just might be hitting his professional stride just when the Bills need it. I'm so looking forward to see what he does in the Chiefs through Steelers stretch of games. If he puts up big numbers and shows consistency then this year could indeed become special. How nice would it be for the Bills to not worry about QB and grab a monster defensive lineman with that #1 pick. This year, Fitzpatrick has a better QB rating and 2 less TDs than Sanchez in half the starts. He has a better QB rating and 3 less TDs than Brady with 2 less starts. Yes the defenses haven't been good, but at least he proved he can do it against the bad defenses. That's a plus. A starting point. For the "he needs to win crowd," this is a flat out bad year. This ridiculously bad defense that the Bills have has sealed their fate of a 3 win or less season. Odds are that he won't have a very good game this week, because they've got a poor offensive line and they're going on the road against one of the NFL premier defenses. But I'm excited to see if Fitzpatrick's impressive numbers continue (especially after the Ravens game which won't be pretty). The possibility is out there. -
...as a true contender to the QB we've all been searching for since Kelly left the stage. When you look at his stats over his last five starts (last two games in '09 and the first three in '10) you come to realize that these are not the stats of a backup player. Extrapolated over a 16 game season, these are the numbers of a top tier NFL QB. So what is there to get excited about this year? How about the prospect of Bills fans finding out their franchise QB is already here. This is not a prediction that he will be that, just that Bills fans need to see the very good work he's been doing and the prospect that he just might continue to do so... Fitzpatrick's last 5 starts... 11 TDs / 3 interceptions Average TDs per game - 2.2 (35 TDs in a 16 game season) Average yards per game - 185.6 (2969 yards in a 16 game season) Average QB rating - 100.66 As a comparison, here are Jim Kelly's 1990 Superbowl season stats (14 games) Total TDs - 24 Total yards - 2829 Yards per game - 202.1 Rating - 101.2 Cue the haters...

Big difference is that Fonda wasn't an elected member of the US congress. Remember the big uproar and outrage over Michele Bachmann's comments on hardball when she said this?... "I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out are they pro-America, or anti-America." But that was of course "crazy" talk according to the MSM. If this is true then this should be bigger than Watergate and these people should end up behind bars.

This country is currently being run by a bunch of adolescents. When their feelings are hurt or they're embarrassed (see current polls) they become irrational and lash out. You know it's officially become real bad when the liberal media turns against the golden child.

Next Bailout - Pension Funds of US Cities?
1billsfan replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If the democrats want to see a real revolution then they can just go ahead and try to give a half trillion dollars or more to the public union pensions plans of corrupt liberal state governments on both coasts. This bail out for the "retiring early at full pay" union crowd off the backs of the country, and their children, and their children's children, will go over about as well as discovery of the salary of the Mayor (and other public officials) of Bell, California. To paraphrase Clint Eastwood, "Make our day..." -

How many losses before we fire Gailey?
1billsfan replied to Chris in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wish the Bills had kept Perry Fewell as their head coach. He was smart enough to know that Edwards was mentally shot as a QB and that Fitzpatrick was by far the best QB on the team. I think that he was the best Bills head coach since Marv Levy. Obviously it was a very short sample, but I would even take him over Phillps. I really hope Gailey quits at the end of the year and Fewell is willing to come back as our head coach with a long term deal. -

There was another "Brownshirt" radical leftist fantasy ad which aired during the last Superbowl with very little outrage. Isn't fascism so cute and funny?... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVhT7P0lDfI

GOP primary voters outnumber Dem voters

I think Christie's a guy who could bring the whole country together. He said he absolutely will not run for president, but he may not have a choice. -
GOP primary voters outnumber Dem voters
1billsfan replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It didn't take even a full year for the democrats to damage themselves by evidence of the New Jersey (Christie) and Massachusetts (Brown) elections last November. The rogue wave is about to hit the SS Poseidon, otherwise known as the democratic party. -
No, I don't remember that play. But if it's true that you get benched by screwing up on one play then why didn't the coaches remove the entire defense from the field? I've seen Spiller pick up blitzes, pointing out Spiller's one screw up is just plain stupid. The guy is going to be a phenom and it's about time the fans start chanting his name if the head coach is too stupid to play him.
-
I like the guy as much as anybody, but after benching Lynch I was so bummed out when Gailey put in Fred Jackson. Enough with the obvious running back "pecking order" system. This is exactly what Dick Jauron would have done. Jackson or Lynch can't hold Spiller's jock when it comes to running skills. Tell Lynch and Jackson to check their egos at the door and go sit the bench and wait for the spot duty. Spiller has crazy speed and cutting ability and it's not even close. This is like taking out the Mustang when you have a freaking Lamborghini in the garage.
-
Has the league told the Bills they aren't allowed to use him on offense? Hands down this guy makes the fastest and quickest cuts in the NFL I was watching one of his returns and he literally did not lose any acceleration while making two or three cuts to avoid defenders. He was a blur. There's not much they can do about the defense, but on offense the head coach really needs to start using Spiller or quit his job.

How much credibility can you give a guy who writes for a magazine which put the Jonas Brothers on the cover. Thanks god that it's now less than a month till the democrats are truly run underground. -
Who else it at the point of anger
1billsfan replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm happy about the Bill right now. Jauron and Edwards are both gone. The offense looked very good on the road against the Pats last week. Fitzpatrick looks like the first true "leader" we've had at the position since Bledsoe was here. Looking forward to the Bills beating the Jets tomorrow. -

Edwards defends deep ball
1billsfan replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's called "love of the game" and it's something that I've been mentioning for a long time here about Trent. -
Do NOT trade Lynch! He's currently our best player and by far hardest worker on the field. The Bills would no doubt get ripped off in any deal not involving a Green Bay first round pick.
-
Week one... run run run Dolphins Week two... Aaron Rodgers = too dangerous Week three... Tom Brady = too dangerous Weel four... Mark Sanchez = blitz like crazy I want to see 5 or 6 pass rushers on every passing down. Play nickel, keep Byrd deep and play man with the corners. Give him zero time to throw and watch the Bills pull off the upset. Of course they will try to run the ball and may indeed have all the success in the world doing that, but if the Bills do stop their run then I want to see some serious blitzing.

Considering she was picked from the obscure political job of governing the state of Alaska and thrown into a national presidential election only a month prior to that debate, she did a very good job against a guy who's been in Washington since the horse and buggy days. She may not have won, but she did hold her own. Now that the national pastime of Obama worshiping is gone for good, he's got nothing. He's an empty suit. My money would be on Palin if they ever were to have a debate. Again, that's not saying much since Obama's presidency has turned into the second coming of Jimmy Carter. That being said, I hope Chris Christie is debating Obama in 2012. Would be far less polarizing a political figure.
