So the Commish feels "deceived" by Bellichick
1billsfan replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then instead of crying about it like a little baby, suspend him like you should have done in the first place you ball-less puke. -
Fairley is a beast who's talents dwarf these other guys. He's the second coming of Warren Sapp. Bowers screams slacker NFL player to me. Dareus seems like he'll be just a "solid" D line guy. I'm looking for Suh type talent at #3. Miller looks small to me. Sorry, but that concerns me. I like his play on the field, but will he be swallowed up at the next level? I'm starting to think that Green is the ultimate safe pick if he's there. We do have a bunch more picks to concentrate on the defense. The NFL is a passing league and we'd have one of the top receiving corps in the league if he's picked by the Bills.
-
After Fairley, every single one of these guys (Dareus, Bowers, Quinn, Miller, Jordan, Kerrigan, Clayborn) has big question marks. Finding which guy is going to be the "great" one is a monumental task (gamble?). Because chances are, only two at the most will be really good out of this suspect group. That's why I'm warming up to the possibility of drafting Green. He's hands down the real deal. Hopefully one of these defensive guys completely blows away the competition at the combine and we'll be able to safely pick a defensive pro bowl monster player at #3.
-
If by the end of the combine none of the top defensive front 7 players separate themselves as outstanding franchise cornerstones and Green looks like a potential HOF receiver then the Bills should probably close their ears and draft Green. I just can't nail down any one of these top defensive players enough to say this is the one we have to pick. Since this draft is so deep in D lineman, there will probably be a solid to very good starting DE or LB there in the second.

Updated Post-Senior Bowl Bleacher Draft w/Video
1billsfan replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I look at it this way. From what I have seen and read, there's only 2 "elite" talents in this year's draft. That doesn't mean that there aren't any players who will become elite in the NFL out there past those two, only that these are the only 2 can't miss types. It sucks that this year we're going through about 10 or so names as possible picks for the Bills at only the #3 pick. That's crazy. That just shows you how far the drop off is after Fairley's off the board. If the Bills pick Green then I'm not going to fault them just for the mere fact that he's the only other sure fire "elite" player. Try picking who the best player will be out of Dareus, Bowers, Miller, Quinn, Kerrigan, Jordan, Watt, Clayborn. Now that's a daunting task! That being said, I still hope between now and the end of the combine the Bills find that one of those defensive guys steps up and there IS an elite front 7 player there at their pick, but if not I certainly wouldn't fault the Bills for selecting Green. Man oh man, the Bills sure would have an almost unstoppable offense if that did happen. Who cares about getting a tight end at that point, just go all defense after that first round and try to trade Evans for a third or fourth to the Falcons, Seahawks or Bears. -
Is Cameron Jordan the best player…
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that it matters, but I think he's on the north squad so that would be the Bengals coaching him, right? Here's an interesting comment from the draft countdown mock draft... http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-B.php "Cal’s Cameron Jordan doesn’t get a lot of attention nationally but he is very highly thought of in scouting circles and could come off the board a lot earlier than most realize, much like his former teammate Tyson Alualu did last year." -

Spin and rip moves... http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/27/senior-bowl-day-3-risers-fallers-and-steady-as-they-go/ "DE Cameron Jordan, Cal: Jordan proved to have the strength to bull-rush tackles in Mobile, plus the burst to come off the edge. He also dazzled scouts with the spin and a rip move to get to the quarterback in one-on-one drills. Jordan was a lock as a second-round pick before the Senior Bowl. Now he’s rising up draft boards and he looks more like a first-round pick." I love how they talk up how great he looks, then coyly mention that he's merely pushed himself from the second to the first round. -
…that no one even knows about? Why isn't he talked about as a top 5 pick? As our #3 pick? Great player… Perfect size for 3/4 DE… 6'4" 287 lb., GBN Report noted he looked "solid" at the senior bowl weight in. Great attitude (not a jerk)... http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=%2Fc%2Fa%2F2011%2F01%2F27%2FSP491HEITA.DTL Great "blood lines"…his Dad was a six time pro bowl tight end for the Vikings. Senior Bowl practice phenom…"California DE Cameron Jordan was the best all-around defensive lineman - and maybe best player period - for the North team today. He was both quick and strong today and used his hands well to get around the offensive lineman in front of him; in particular, he abused Indiana G/T James Brewer all morning, but did get admonished by the coaches late in practice not to hit the QB. In fact, it was a tough day all-around for Brewer who had trouble with pass-rushers most of the morning. Once into his back-peddle he tends to be off-balance and loses most of his power." How does a slacker guy like Bowers garner such huge press when a guy like this doesn't get any attention? This may be my top player at #3, even over the questionable character/maturity (but obviously hugely talented) guy Nick Fairley. He looks like the next Justin Tuck to me. FYI, while he is #9 on the drafttek's big board, he's down the list on all the others, including #29 on GBN report.

Good article by Gaughn on Buddy Nix Today
1billsfan replied to bananathumb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why speak? What's the purpose? I happen to want Greg Jones in the second round. Now that the Bills have said that they're looking at getting bigger in the 3-4 defense, who's to say that someone doesn't jump ahead of them to get him? It's moronic to even go there and say something like that just to sooth the fan base. Good teams don't tell their enemies what their battle plan is before the battle. They need to shut up. -

I don't at all like the Bills tipping their hand at who or what they'll be drafting. Do the Steelers, Patriots or Packers do this sort of thing???????? Shut up your pie hole already. I'm sure the three clubs I mentioned above will be considering those comments right before the Bills pick in the second round and third round and on and on and on... -
Packers fan fired from Chicago-area job
1billsfan replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That guy doesn't deserve a job. What part of the word "boss" does he not get? The title should have read…"Packer Backer Fired for Being an Overindulged Idiot" -
I posted a thread about this dude a few weeks ago and after further consideration he seemed too small for a defense like ours that features small players. I don't know who said it (Parcells?), that there are only so many big men on the planet that have the ability to play football on the NFL level, so when you get the chance you draft one of them. Smallish linebackers are not what you draft at #3. We need a big man be it at DL or LB there.

Prepare yourself, the Jets will win it all
1billsfan replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's been established with very much glee that I was wrong. BTW, to set the record straight, this was just my 2nd "big" prediction thread since I predicted that the Giants would beat the Pats in the Superbowl a few years ago. That makes me 50-50 on prediction threads. I'll take my lumps though. Fair warning, one day in the future I just may come back with a "bigger" and "bolder" prediction!…LOL -

Even at 24-0 I still thought the Jets would make a good game of it. The Steelers are extremely lucky the Jets didn't show up till the second half of that game. In the end I was wrong, but it's not like I'm sad about it either. That Steelers secondary will get absolutely torched by Aaron Rodgers. -

The Jets lost the AFC Championship game last year. Beating the Pats, while great as that was, literally means nothing to them unless they go to the Superbowl. The Jets could care less about the Pats right now. They see an over rated and inferior team in the Steelers (which they are) is standing between them and going to the Superbowl. -

Their defense held the Colts to 17 points and the Pats to 21 points. I see no reason why they can't do the same to the Packers. As for Matthews, to me as a whole, the Jets defense seems much more dominant than the Packers defense. They even had Brady rattled. Average or not, the kid is makings the big throws when it counts. I see him putting up big numbers on Sunday. Don't discount the "disrespect" card that the Jets will be cashing in if they make it to the Superbowl. They'll have two weeks worth of unwarranted "underdog" status to unload on the Packers. -

I think two weeks of Rodgers/Packers media hype (which I think is true BTW, he's arrived at the Brady, Manning level) will do in the Packers. After receiving no credit for defeating the Colts, Pats and Steelers...the Jets will be ready to rip Aaron's head off his body. They have the players, defense and emotion to do it too. Rodgers has yet to face a shut down corner in Revis or a defense as unpredictable as a Belichick defense. These Jets remind me of the old Raider teams who had rough edges and people would love to hate, yet would still beat anybody that was put in front of them. The Jets and Packers are very closely matched. Sanchez has impressed me, he has a real knack of making big plays in the second half of these games. Granted, Rodgers is THAT good, he's just not going to be good enough to beat the Jets. -

C'mon man, beating Peyton and Brady in their house in the playoffs in consecutive weeks is a serious roll. The Steelers were very lucky that the Ravens coughed up that game in the second half. I do believe in that "playoff roll" stuff. -

Back in the 80s and 90s, being a favorite was much more real than it is today in the parity world of the NFL. You watch, after the Jets beat the Steelers (which is going to happen), the NFL media world will anoint the Packers as the "dominate" team, when reality is that the Jets are just as good if not better than them. Put in 2 weeks of the media overrating the Packers and I see the Jets and Ryan riding that "us against them" theme to a win in Dallas. Did you see Manning's face last year before the Superbowl? Two weeks of people telling you "you're the bomb" and that you should be the favorite drains even the biggest of players after two weeks of Superbowl hype. -
I think the Jets will beat the Steelers because... they're better than the Steelers. they're on a serious roll. their team looks to have much more emotion in these games, the Steelers's coach seems much more emotional than the actual players. they beat Peyton, beat Brady and they're still are getting disrespected with being 4 pt underdogs...can you say motivation? after Rex's bold "soon to be champs" prediction, hard knocks, all of the drama during the season...it's starting to have that destiny feel to it. I think they'll beat the Packers (who'll beat the Bears) in the Superbowl because... they're better that the Packers. after beating the Colts Pats and Steelers on the road, they'll still not be getting respect. they'll again be underdogs providing 2 full weeks of huge motivation for an emotional team in the biggest game ever. I'm just trying to prepare y'all.

Here's a report... http://www.gbnreport.com/shrinereport.html "No player is getting more scrutiny in Orlando that North Carolina DT Marvin Austin. For the most part, Austin, who hasn't played a down in anger in over a year after being suspended this fall for receiving improper benefits, was OK overall, but my notes indicated that he did a lot better in drills, when he knew where the ball was going, than he was in the scrimmage. But Austin held up well enough on the interior for a guy who hasn't played in pads at all for five months."

No, he leans crazy. What the crazy killer brain farted in his ramblings happens to be a popular far left stance. A crazy man saying this does not mean he's a liberal, but him saying something like this is highly ironic considering the left had accused the right of mass murder for a full week since it happened. Get that through your thicker than thick skull yet? Seriously, how dense are you?
