You were wrong. Accept it and move on.

"when our current QB was ranked near the bottom in almost every important QB statistic is a bit of reach." Seriously, please stop with that near the bottom bs you're trying desperately to propagate... 10th in TD% 10th in Sack% 15th in TDs (13 games) 16th Yards per game 17th Yards per catch 21st in Completions (13 games) 22nd in Yards (13 games) Given that he only played in 13 games, he would have moved those last two "bottom stats" him to the middle of the pack if he had played in three extra games. Fitzpatrick managed these respectable stats on a team that ranked near last on defense, near last on getting turnovers and near last in having any semblance of a running game. He improved his QB rating by 12 points in 2010. We know you think he's our biggest problem, but at least be fair to him by not making <stuff> up and presenting it as fact.

Not half as dangerously ignorant as the people who voted for Obama and still think he's doing a good job. BTW, the only people who rely on one TV news outlet source are senior citizens who don't know how to use the internet...LOL

The only stench in this country is the economy...LOL

You mean the same coaches that trotted out Trent Edwards this season???? Those coaches????...LOL He proved Gailey as foolish once, and he can certainly do it again.
-
Sounds more like someone's still leading you around by the gonads. He's been the all the disaster they warned us about and more.
-
Here's exactly what I said…. "Hey, you made the comparison of Fitzpatrick supporters being just like the Trent supporters" Now, while saying you didn't specifically compare Fitzpatrick and Edwards is true, you did compare the two in the most passive aggressive way possible by mocking those who support Fitzpatrick as the same as those who supported Edwards. C'mon now, it's not cute or clever in any way. Fitzpatrick is a REAL starting QB for the next 5 or 6 years in the NFL. Don't believe me? Watch and see his career unfold. A smart, tough and talented 28 year old QB like Fitzpatrick who's finally mastered the NFL learning curve will not all of a sudden regress in his game. Is Fitzpatrick the answer for our team sitting at #3 with the possibility to take a gamble on an elite talent like Newton? Even me, being a Fitzpatrick fan, can't even say that for sure. What I do think is that there's still the real possibility out there that he can become somewhere in between a Drew Brees and an Eli Manning and we'll no doubt get our answer in 2011 whether or not they do take Newton. Because he'll be our starting QB next year no matter what.

Anyone who still tunes into Fox News? Weird phrasing. They've been blowing everyone out of the water in the ratings department…LOL

Dareus reminds me of a Mike Williams situation. He sounds like a high school kid in his interviews. Doesn't strike me as a guy that will put in the hard work necessary to become an elite player. Peterson is the exact opposite. He's seems very mature, and he gives the impression that he's willing to work to become the best at his position. Suh was that way last year, very mature and you knew he'd put in the work to become the best. Because of major disappointments like Mike Williams and Leodis McKelvin, I think the Bills steer clear of unintelligent types at #3.
-
If they like Newton and think he's a franchise QB then they'll take him if he's there. If they don't feel that way then they'll probably take one of the can't miss "impact" guys out of Peterson, Miller, Quinn or Green. I get the feeling that Dareus and Fairley are out of the running due to them both being somewhat emotionally immature.

"first I, as well as anyone who doubted Trent, was flamed for pointing out everything wrong with Trent when everyone insisted on how great he was doing just because he wasnt JP. Now, everyone is making the same excuses for Fitz and over exaggerating his season just because he isnt Trent." Hey, you made the comparison of Fitzpatrick supporters being just like the Trent supporters. Sorry, but that was a embarrassingly stupid comment on your part. Fitzpatrick threw 23 TDs in 13 games last year. (5.9 TD%) Edward's best year was when he threw 11 TDs in 14 games. (2.9 TD%) Like I said, your views of Fitzpatrick are and continue to be warped.
-
You're have a very warped view of Fitzpatrick. He's a hundred times better than Trent. You seriously need to stop because you're making yourself look foolish now.

Think about how silly this board would be if everybody deferred to the "experts" like the ones who thought Alex Smith was a no brainer. No one's truly an expert because the draft is at best a crap shoot. However, the odds are strongly in my favor me that there's no Tom Brady in this draft. As for who I think the Bills should pick at #3? I've changed my mind about ten times on that one so I am by no means an expert with the biggest decision ever coming up.
-
You're dumb if you think there's a Tom Brady in this draft. Just like you'd be dumb for thinking you have a real shot a winning the lottery. Seriously, this is what this thread has come down to? Being mad because someone said there's no Tom Brady in this draft?
-
Oh brother.
-
Only 2 of his 23 TDs were "waste" time TDs. And only a delusional person would fault him for torching the Cincy defense. Frankly, isn't that what any good QB would do? ...LOL You have this very warped and unrealistic view that the Bills starting QB should be averaging 3 TDs per game. I hate to break it to you, but there are no Tom Bradys or Peyton Mannings in this draft.
-
Boy are you delusional. There were only a couple of games where Fitzpatrick started and him and Johnson compiled extra stats after the game's outcome was no longer in doubt.
-
Johnson = 87 receptions Evans = 37 receptions So you're saying that the problem is Fitzpatrick wasn't able to throw the ball accurately to Lee Evans when he clearly hit Johnson all season long?????...LMAO
-
He's a solid citizen type like Patrick Peterson and Von Miller. I don't think it's crazy to think that the Bills would take a great player who has zero character concerns at #3. If Peterson is off the board and the Bills are hell bent on having zero character issues, then Miller and Green are in the conversation at #3.

Pats ready to deal their 2nd, 1st round pick ?
1billsfan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ask Tom Brady if he likes the looks of this so-called "overhaul". Also ask him if he thinks the last five years have been successful. We have a disconnect going on here. You're judging them by "I'm a Bills fan who's just happy to make the playoffs" standard. I'm judging them by their own very real standard of actually winning Superbowls. -
You're kidding right? Johnson, Nelson and Roosevelt didn't have any trouble getting open and catching passes from Fitzpatrick.

Pats ready to deal their 2nd, 1st round pick ?
1billsfan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not comparing the Bills past or present to the current day Pats team. I'm arguing how "good" these current Pats players are compared to their dynasty core of players. They're obviously not as good as them judging by their post seasons. -

1billsfan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just because 4 of 5 first round picks went to the pro bowl doesn't mean that they have the same talent as they did 5 years ago. Plus, let's be real, Mankins and Meriweather made it because they're on the Patriots. The pro bowl is half popularity contest. If those guys were on the Bills they'd be league-wide no names and have no shot at the pro bowl. If these guys are so good AND they have the best QB in the NFL, how come they haven't won a Superbowl yet with them? -
Pats ready to deal their 2nd, 1st round pick ?

"the Pats do so many things that keep them sucessful...." Not really, there's only one thing keeping them successful and that's not cutting Tom Brady. Pittsburgh is an example of a team that's drafted well in recent years, the Pats have not. They've had success at FA pickups like Woodhead. However, the core of that "dynasty" team is gone and they've yet to replace it. That could change since they finally hit with some picks last year and they have so many this year. But right now, they are in rough shape if Brady has a career ender. -
Best QB Prospects Using "The Parcells Rules"
1billsfan replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While what you say is true, it is interesting given all of the clamoring for picking a 2nd or 3rd round second rate QB talent. After Newton, there's nobody that will be as good as we have now with Fitzpatrick. Yes, there's a small chance that they could become that good, but it's a very small chance. We have a good QB now and if they don't take Newton (hoping for a home run elite QB talent), then they shouldn't bother taking one at all.
