  1. At #3 you should be drafting a guy that has the size, speed and athleticism to handle BOTH the run and pass. This Quinn/Miller back and forth amazes me. For years we've read fans' at TSW cries of desperation about how little our players are compared to the rest of the league. How they get pushed around, game after game after game after game. So since the diminutive Von Miller has risen up the draft boards (they are wrong), everybody seems to have lost all their memories and senses regarding our poor little boys in blue. If the Bills do in fact draft Miller, I don't want to see even one post regarding the small size of our defense. With the exception of those here who were touting they take an NFL sized person with the first pick.
  2. No I didn't, I questioned the media's lack of interest in looking into the background of someone so unknown. But don't let that stop you. Like I said, I seriously hope that it's not true.
  3. I've never been a "birther," but Trump's stating that his grandmother said she witnessed his birth in Kenya was news to me. The pea brains are (and were) the mass media who failed at their jobs of looking into the background of this completely unknown person who was seeking the office of the presidency. Where he was born, how he voted present over hundred times as a state senator, ect... It sounds like Trump thinks he has some stunning information that he's come across. I'd like to know what makes him so sure there's something to the "birther" issue. I hope it's not true because the consequences would tear this country apart and we have enough problems as it is.
  4. There's clearly a contingent of Von Miller fans who would dispute his being back to the 230 weight. If he were standing on a scale and reading it for themselves, they'd say that the scale was faulty. Vincent Jackson looks like Von Miller's daddy in that picture. I've provided a ton of links to try and make them see the light that Miller will never live up to the #3 pick. You'd think that after the Aaron Maybin fiasco they'd be more clear headed about going down this road again. Patriot fans are begging their team to throw enough picks out so that they can draft Robert Quinn. That's because they can still remember what real big tough defensive OLBs look like since they had one in Willie McGinest. I seriously think that a lot of Bills fans can no longer recognize a player from a pretender. Von Miller will be the OLB version of Paul Posluszny. Robert Quinn will be an NFL monster like McGinnest, Peppers, Freeney, Suggs. They can get a thousand experts to tell me that Von Miller is a top ten prospect and I'll still be laughing at them.
  5. There are hundreds of college players who've had wonderful statistics in college, yet who's game did not translate to NFL success. You know that. As for his size, I'll post this again... http://long-island.newsday.com/topics/Texas Dude is smaller than a WR! If he's still 246 then Jackson is 266...LOL This guy clearly didn't keep that added weight on. I feel good however, since there's no way the Buddy Nix rolls the dice on Aaron Maybin 2.0. The experts can beg and plead all they want for the Bills to take the "soft and cuddly" guy yet again, but that's not happening. After seeing that picture, this guy's officially off my big board...LOL
  6. Sorry, but I strongly disagree. We're picking #3 in the first round. With that pick, it's not asking too much for that guy to have the upside of being a perennial all pro and potential Hall of Famer. Not just a consistent tackler or getting QB pressures. We're looking for a gamer. A guy that will not only give "OOOOOO" tackles but someone who will separate the ball from the QB and/or runningback. This does not describe Von Miller. At his little size the best we probably ever get is a good to pretty good OLB.
  7. That would be post #75 of this thread.
  8. Hmmm, what's that phrase about those who don't learn from history?.... http://blogs.sacbee.com/49ers/archives/2011/04/kiper-offers-th.html
  9. <In the voice of Jeff Foxworthy> When a wide receiver looks like he could kick your OLB's ass...you may need a bigger OLB… http://long-island.newsday.com/topics/Texas Yes, let's draft a flea-sized malcontent who's more focused on player issues than becoming the Bills first defensive superstar since Bruce Smith. Maybe it's just me, but I like the fact that Robert Quinn isn't in playing dress up in Minnesota on April 6th. FYI, Miller was directly behind the press podium during the interviews. Sorry, I want a football player, not Norma Rae.
  10. You may have said it, but deep down I don't think you truly believe that (but if you do, good for you for sticking to your guns). C'mon, admit it, Quinn totally fits the mold of being the big, bad@ss OLB baller that the Steelers and Pats love. I think that the "experts" think Von Miller fits the Bills best because he's the "cute and cuddly" pick that the Bills always love over the guy who plays mean and nasty...Orakpo and Ngata are the two classic examples of the Bills doing this.
  11. I feel like Tom Cruise in "A Few Good Men"...LOL I want an answer!!!! I don't care about Green Bay, do you think the Patriots or Steelers would draft Von Miller over Robert Quinn...
  12. Does anyone here think that the Steelers or Patriots would draft Von Miller over Robert Quinn?
  13. Just because they're the same body size coming out of college doesn't mean that they play the same way. I see Miller over pursuing plays and getting pushed around way too often to suggest that he's the next Clay Matthews.
  14. I'm sorry, but the stuff I've seen on youtube has scared the livin' crap out of me in regards to Miller. He looks and plays small even among the college players. I foresee a guy who will make a few plays based on his speed, but will never become a sack artist and will more often than not get caught up in the wash on running plays. A hot and cold kind of a guy. If I had to put a bust percentage on Von Miller taken as the 3rd overall player in the draft, then I would say 70%. If the Bills were picking him as a player in the 10-20 range then that bust factor would go down to 40%, because I do think he'll become a decent OLB. BTW, who do you think the Steelers and Patriots would take if given that choice?
  15. If these "experts" were asked to predict who the Patriots and Steelers would pick if given the choice between Robert Quinn and Von Miller, I guarantee you they'd both predict Quinn would be the pick. It's almost as if they're begging the Bills to pick another bust.
  16. Von Miller will be a major bust. His little body "speed" OLB game doesn't translate to the NFL and he over pursues on running plays. I've literally been laughing at the Kiper "expert" types this draft season. I think they're all on some seriously heavy dope.
  17. It's just that Mayock and a lot of these "experts" fell over themselves to transport a QB that nobody even heard of to the top 10, AFTER Luck, Mallet and Locker imploded as possible top ten picks (for differing reasons of course). I see it as NFL draft expert malpractice on their part. Other than these guys, there appears to be little love for Blaine Gabbert out there among the teams and fanbases. Now, I don't put it past the Cardinals and 49ers to pull the trigger on him. However, they will be taking a HUGE risk a a guy that has a JP Losman-like pocket presence. I'll believe he's a top ten pick when I see it.
  18. What are you talking about? First off, Quinn didn't hurt himself with his combine performance. Secondly, he went off with a freakish performance at his pro day... http://blogs.nfl.com/2011/03/31/mayock-quinn-showed-rare-and-elite-skills-for-end/ BTW, I would find it very creepy if a guy trained every day for a year doing the combine drills.
  19. I think the only answer to that is what's the reoccurrence rate of brain tumors. If it's anything above 10%, well you'd have a serious point regarding the decision to take him. Otherwise, I'd have no issue with it. I think him having gone through that has probably made him a much more mature and dedicated person, knowing that life is so precious and that you should live it full tilt.
  20. I merely asked you the question. You were the one that brought it up as an issue with the guy...LOL Two words...Leif Larson.
  21. Benching means almost nothing compared to your play on the field. A bit low? Who cares if he doesn't have a 8 or 9 extra bench reps, for that reason you aren't going to draft him? Come on now. Can those guys bend and twist like Gumby? That's what's more important.
  22. When they're in THAT kind of shape after a year off? Yes, sign me up and get ready for the Brady beat down!
  23. Apparently John Elway's one of the haters. There are strong rumors of the Broncos wanting to draft Ponder. Just google "Broncos" and "Ponder" to see them. Some say a trade back, some say a trade up to the 20s of the first round. Either way, Ponder's apparently going to end up being a first rounder.
  24. Drew Brees is a little punk. He should be kissing these old school player's feet for what they help built and in doing so led to todays star QBs earning 20 MILLION DOLLAR A YEAR contracts. Give me a freaking break, Brees is a jerk off greedy little punk in my book.
  25. That's not true. These experts are getting things waaaay wrong this year...Ex. Gabbert, Dareus, Miller. At some point during the last few months, all three guys have all been pimped out by the experts as the best players in the draft. Of those three, the only non-bust guy is Dareus (he'll be solid, that's it however, he's got little "star player" ceiling). Of those three, none of them are in the "elite" class of this draft. That distinction goes to Peterson, Green and Quinn. I visit a lot of message boards and very few fans are clamoring for an over-hyped OLB who not only is small but plays small. Gabbert and Miller's ascensions to top player status are the biggest farces by the experts that I've seen since I can remember. Apparently NFL elite talent level takes a way back seat to being a "model citizen" this year...LOL
