Rap may have been around for 20 years, but I don't think it became main stream until the mid 90's. Granted there were a few breakout artists before then. Biz Markie, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Digital Underground, Sirmixalot and Will Smith all come to mind. I think rap is due for a collapse. Music goes in cycles, and it's time for a Guns n Roses or a Nirvana type of revolution. I agree that MTV plays nothing but crap. Snoop Dogg has gone way down hill since "Deep Cover".

I love how the subject of rap always comes up here. Gives me a chance to talk about my old army days. I knew two guys that grew up in south central Los Angeles and both hated rap. My roommate Robbie told me that NWA were considered "studio gangsters", and had no real street credibility. I tend to believe the stories of someone who was there for the LA riots, and has knife scars all over him. Compared to that propaganda shown on MTV.

I haven't played organized sports since highschool. In highschool I played football and spent the offseason in a boxing gym working out. I was in great shape and could run the 40 in 4.2 back then. I would love to play college football now, but just don't have the size for it.
