  1. lolol @ "straight luck" or "winning the lottery". we're not playing roulette here. the bills had a 7th round pick. i'm sure their logic was - "okay, let's take a flier here on a player we think could have a future". and they were right. fortunate? sure. 100% luck or whatever the hell you're saying? no. god no. idk what planet you're on where you don't think the Pats deserve ANY credit for picking Tom Brady. It's not like they stood up at the podium and said "!@#$ all of you - we just got a hall of famer in the 6th round". obviously they had no idea he'd be this good. but i'm sure they saw SOMETHING that led them to making the pick.
  2. the music in that video made me want to cut my wrists. i don't want him now because of that.
  3. awful draft. but there should a different standard than just grading each player straight up. grabbing a pro-bowl caliber player in the 7th round is unreal.
  4. i think if a player is said "hard worker, film junkie, on-field leader", there's a better chance he'll reach his full potential. and that is a huge factor when drafting a player with a key 1st or 2nd round selection. take some risks later on, not in the top 10.
  5. if you actually think about it, it's not that bad -vince young
  6. i think that's the point. these jerseys are gunna be sick. nike is always a step ahead of the competition.
  7. kuechly is miles better than sheppard. if we're going BPA, i don't know what planet you're on that you think nix will have him at 24. he's one of the top 7-8 prospects in the draft. absolute stud.
  8. i think it's pretty much a lock that tannehill is going top 10 now. he could go as high as 4.
  9. Blackmon would be the most no-brainer pick at #10 in the history of the league. We'd be idiots not to take him.
  10. ha solid work. not interested in reiff. if you're taking an o-lineman at #10, you better be damn sure he projects as a left tackle, and many in the biz are skeptical of reiff. i like your other 2 picks though.
  11. if blackmon fell to 7 i'd trade up in a heartbeat.
  12. same. i hate the jets. i hate their players. i hate their QB. i hate their coach. but i don't really have anything against the organization. i hate brady and belicheck passionately. but i also respect them because they're the best. the dolphins? nothing. !@#$ them. !@#$ their fanbase, city, and champagne popping cocky entitled history. the ONLY thing i'm okay with is marino being such a good guy for kelly when hunter was sick.
  13. i feel like this would be a good time to mention that the Pats drafting over the past 5-6 years has been average at best. saying that the pats had mallett rated higher than newton, locker, or dalton means nothing to me.
  14. but to be fair, i feel like every offseason i have a list of 6-7 guys who i feel will take the next step and emerge. i'd say it's happened only 10% of the time. what's different this year is the amount of talent on the rest of the roster makes it easier for guys to slip into their positions and make plays. count the number of guys on our roster who could reasonably make a pro-bowl or play at that level. i count williams, williams, dareus, byrd, wilson, and maybe barnett on D. stevie, freddy, wood, levitre on O. that's more talent than we've had in a decade.
  15. i can make the case for a lot of guys. merriman - in a spot-duty role aaron williams - obvious reasons mckelvin - better pass rush carrington - better suited for 4-3 easley - #2 WR is up for grabs, has talent spiller - showed flashes even if 2 of these guys really turn it up a notch, we're in good shape.
  16. floyd isn't a reach at 10. his measurables are as good as any WR in recent years with only a few exceptions (megatron).
  17. hell, i'd take gronk at 2nd overall. if nix thinks fleener is a stud, trade down and take him in the teens. not at #10.
  18. i agree with Promo's general point here. However, if you take a player like Troup in the 2nd, when there's close to a 100% chance you could've gotten him a round later, you're doing your team a disservice. Likewise, if you draft a player at #10, when no one has him in the top 25, that's just dumb. it doesn't matter if he turns out to be an all-pro. trade down THEN draft him.
