  1. I'd rather have Joe Thomas, left tackle from Wisconsin. That guy is going to be a solid player. It would be nice to have another Will Wolford.
  2. The offensive line did not play well. We gave JP not a lot of time to throw and Willis had a good game getting what he could. This line is not going to get the job done. Next year this is our number one priority to get fixed. It starts with left tackle and then work your way across the line. Peters at right tackle is good but I would leave him there.
  3. 3 years is probably about right. This was a rebuilding year anyway you look at it. But the problem I have with all of this is that we aren't improving week by week. I think that's what makes this frustruating.
  4. I think that looks about right but obviously we won't know unless they play. I think we will win against Green Bay. If we do, will anyone be talking about a possible run to the playoffs like 2004?
  5. I agree, McGahee looked like he was in top form today. He didn't get very many holes to run through, but he made the most out of what he had. He ran hard and played like the back that we know he is.
  6. I agree that I think Clements is a good player and someone that would be good to keep, but I think that Clements is going to another team as soon as this season ends. Unless we make a deal for him soon he'll be the number one guy in free agency for the teams that need a cornerback.
  7. I thought Merz was alright today in his first start in the NFL. He gave up one sack that he just got beat but for the most part I thought that he held his own.
  8. He hardly played. I am a little confused by the pickup because we have defensive ends on the team, but hey maybe he'll make an impact later in the season.
  9. I'm not sure how I would feel if my team blew it like they did. On a positive note for them Matt Leinhart looked very good for them last night, definitely the face of their franchise for the next 10 to 15 years.
  10. I'm not sure that was hard to figure out. Anyone who knows football knows that is not enough against one of the best teams in the NFL. However, the fumble by James really shocked me. Holding on to the ball for another 2 minutes might have been the difference in that game.
  11. At this point putting in Holcomb is not a good idea. JP needs to learn at this point and needs to finish out a 16 game season as starting quarterback. Unless he is really making mistakes consistently, the I think the guy to replace him would be Nall.
  12. Sounds like a rumor. If it does work out, I think it would be a good move for both teams. The Bills most likely will not re-sign Clements at the end of the year. McFarland is a good player who will stop the run, which this team needs a this point. If this trade somehow went through, I would like to see what would happen with our run defense.
  13. Wow, that is some post. But I agree with almost all of it. Reality has sunk in and this team is far away from being a contendor. Marv Levy gave an honest opinion on how long it would take and he did say that it will be tough to move the team in the right direction but thinks that it can be done with time. I think when it comes down to it, this season looks similar to last year. The difference is that we have a younger group of players. Its also nice to see that a lot of our draft picks this year are playing.
  14. I'm not sure we have the defensive tackles right now to compete with the better guards in this league. I like what I see from Kyle Williams but he can't do it by himself. Our defensive ends are more suited to play the rush. Denney is probably our best defensive end against the run.
  15. I think a lot of times when we're winning it's a lot easier to ignore the weaknesses. Now that we are losing they are getting more exposed. Mike Gandy would be a good backup left tackle for us. Not a starting left tackle for us.
  16. Bears 17 Bills 13 Close game coming down to the last play on fourth and goal.
  17. I'll be there. The three people I'll be with will be rooting for the Bears. Not me. It's going to be a tough game there is no doubt about it. Can we stop their defensive line? That would a big key.
  18. They look like the real deal but they haven't faced any adversity yet. They played very well against the Seahawks but the week before they did not play well against the Vikings barely getting the victory. This week the Bills offensive line faces their biggest test of the season. Who is going to stop Tommie Harris? I think we need to double team him if we know we are going to pass.
  19. I agree. There is a lot of hype about the Bears right now becuase they have been playing well. They look as if they are going to win their division even though it is week 5. Lets see how they respond when they get their first loss. Maybe it will come this week in an upset.
  20. I think next year you'll see that this is an area that needs to be upgraded. I like Jason Peters at right tackle and I think Melvin Fowler was a good pickup at center.
  21. It is interesting that a few good players in the NFL sometimes speak their minds publically. The truth is, I agree with Pat Williams. The previous five years were downright painful at times. The good thing is, we learned from that. That is in the past and now their is a lot of reason for optimism.
  22. I live in Chicago. Jauron had one good season with the Bears in 2001, but his overall record of 35-46 didn't sit well with a lot of people. To often he was criticized for being to careful in his offensive play calling. I think that after 2001-2002 season he lost some key players, (Ted Washington comes off the top of my head) and didn't capitalize the next year. I think there were some high expectation after the 13-3 season in 2001 and they didn't work out.
  23. Next weeks game is a obviously the important one. Without a win next week and it really doesn't mean anything.
  24. Well at least Chris Collinsworth said something positive tonight on NBC
  25. I thought the big thing this game was that as team the mistakes were kept to a minimum. Miami was the team today making all of the big mistakes. We kept up with them. I thought the pressure on Culpepper was good today. I would like to see that on a regular basis. Great games from Ryan Denney and Donte Whitner today. The defense played well. The offense did what it had to do and really focused a lot on ball control and not turning the ball over. Wills had some nice runs today. I also thought that Gandy held his own on Jason Taylor for the most part. Losman was decent and that is alright as long as he doesn't turn the ball over.
