Was the trade for Watkins worth it?
Matt in KC replied to Luxy312's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelly, I get your points, and largely agree. I just think it's hilarious that these are the 3 areas you think EJ needs to improve: the first 2 are both accuracy and the last one is to read defenses, process info quickly, make good decisions, and get the ball out quick. I tend to think his top areas for improvement are: Accuracy Leadership Decisiveness Accuracy Ability to read Defenses Urgency Leadership and last but not least: Accuracy on long passes I don't think we're too far apart! -
Jerry Hughes ruins practice...
Matt in KC replied to QuoteTheRaven83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hughes is exactly the player we wanted Mark Anderson to be. What a waste of time and money that was! -
Other then on the team websites. I wonder if us Bill's fans are the articulatest? Pretty sure were much more superior to those other team's.

My biggest gripe with Watkins is there appeared to be a number of plays he took off or gave up on. -

That's not what I see when I look back at recent drafts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_NFL_draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_NFL_draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_NFL_draft -
Bills fans only scored that poorly because TSW has siphoned off the most educated and articulate posters. . . .

Titans are coming off a week 4 bye when we play them week 5. That's the only opponent I see coming off a bye week. I'm so glad we don't have a week 4 bye!
-
Crap, you're right. The header is updaets, but the byes are 2014....

We had to play the Colts sometime. I think that's the spot that gives us the best chance to beat them besides having a longer week to prepare.
-
I'd rather play the Pats week 2 when they don't have forever to plan for us (week 1) and they don't have much tape on us yet. And besides, that game is at home. Week 11 they play a 4:30 road game the week before, so that will cut into their extra time.
-
But we have a homefield advantage to start as we try to set the tone for the season. Then we play the last 2 at home when our playoff lives might count on a win.
-
The schedule looks good to me! I love that we play NE week 2 at home. Then we have from a Thursday night game until Monday night, 11 days later to prepare to play the Pats in Foxboro.

What do you think the bills record will be next year?
Matt in KC replied to Joshua25's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That sentence was indeed added to the Wiki page by "Mr Gronk" on 10/5/14. -
FA Brad Smith visiting Bills. Yes, that one.
Matt in KC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Holy crap, I can't believe I just did that. I was multi-tasking, but that was just dumb. In that case, let's go ahead and sign Brad Smith! -

6 WRs: Sammy, Percy, Woods, Harvin, Goodwin and Easley (you missed Harvin). I wouldn't bump any of those guys for Smith, and I don't think we have the luxury of carrying 7 WRs. I liked Smith getting first downs out of the wildcat; that really helped the team. BUT, he could not throw to save his life. I don't think he's viable or valuable enough to carry, even for veteran minimum. I appreciate his versatility, but think we have better candidates at each of those positions. -

Matt in KC replied to Joshua25's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we'll get 9 or 10 wins, depending on how fast we start off. While I think the pieces will be in place for a strong team, there is going to be enough new to keep us from doing much better. I hope/expect we go something like 4-4 in the first 8 games, and 6-2 in the last 8. If we see that, we're on the right trajectory! -
Another what-if scenario: Schwartz + Roman
Matt in KC replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would have preferred a Schwartz defense over Pettine's or Ryan's. That said, I'm not sure Schwartz could have run his D well, and the team as Head Coach. I like Ryan's personality more and think he'll be a better and more entertaining coach. Given all the unknowns, I'd choose to stay with what I see we have now. I don't think it's likely a Schwartz promotion would have turned out as well. -
Bills to trade Kiko Alonso for LeSean McCoy

Steve Tasker was a great player.
Matt in KC replied to TheJuice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since Special Teams players are now making it into the HOF, I definitely think Steve Tasker is worthy. He was a Special Teams phenom. I remember a few times he downed punts near the goal-time that were spectacular. I remember seeing a slow motion replay of him diving with his body parallel over the goal line, pushing the ball back to the 1/2 yard line as he sailed by. It was almost like a clip of an Olympic high jumper clearing the bar, only he had to run down the field not knowing where the bar would be before he launched himself. And this type of play happened enough, it was clearly not a fluke I thought at the time we'd see a new crop of players perfecting this skill, but again and again and again I see punt coverage team bumble near the goal line, unable to reproduce the magic. -
Aaron Hernandez Trial---*Guilty*

I think it's fine for the off-season; I'm glad it's here. During the season Off The Wall would be more appropriate. -
Freds rushing stats last year
Matt in KC replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Fred sticking around and Ryan's comments, I'll be surprised if Boobie Brown makes the team and sees much playing time.
