  1. Well both the Bengals and the ref's have stripes on their uniforms....
  2. Um... No. The Bills are 12 yards per game behind the Steelers, 269.4 vs. 257.0, meaning that the Steelers need to allow 198.4 (12.4 x 16 games) more yards than the Bills in the last three weeks to have the same average per game. And, the Bills D is currently in third. The Redskins are allowing 261.6 yards per game, so the Bills need to allow 73.6 less yards to catch the Redskins. Last week's performance did distance the Bills from 4th place considereably though, now approx 15 ypg better than Denver. http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-...ar?sort_col_1=4
  3. For unknown reasons, after a good play on Sunday, Takeo Spikes again imitated the "Elaine dance" from the hit comedy Seinfeld.
  4. ...or maybe in addition to kicking the dog and punching the wife? Thanks for the stats Traveling.... I hope other teams reach the same conclusions when contemplating a trade for henry. I do think WM is a superior back, but the Henry deserves a lot of respect for what he accomplished as well. He's a middle-of-the-pack starting RB, and probably the league's best #2 (when healthy enough to play).
  5. And they've surrendered only 13 sacks over the last nine games (after giving up 19 in the first 4)! And have run back 5 kicks for TDs, by 3 different players.
  6. For all 3-team ties, any two in the same division are compared first (and one eliminated). For teams in the same division, record against common opponents is a higher tiebreaker than conference record, and so we'd beat the Jets if we're 10-6 each.
  7. NFL.com says 2 by rushing, 3 by passing, and 1 by penalty, but I swear I remember at least 2 by penalty (Posey lined up in neutral zone, and I thought the Schoebel offsides, but actually that lead to a TD, not a first down)
  8. Clint Malarchuk - sliced in the late 80's... has to be mentioned. I can't believe I didn't see it was hockey goalies until I almost posted. I was ready to throw out these others I remember watching: Mike Ramsey Mike Foligno Christian Ruuttu Uwe Krupp
  9. And you know, I'll bet Irregardless shows up in a US dictionary in approximately 3-5 years. The written word follows the spoken word; and the dictionary reports the written word.... Ain't it grand?
  10. That was a great story someone here posted (Mark VI?). That one and the Krumrie wrestling/hand-checking stories were by far my favorites from preseason....
  11. I completely agree. It's very refreshing. I'll have to go look up some 1st half / second half stats. I have the feeling they're pretty impressive.
  12. Does anyone else think he hurt his knee when Euhus dove into the back of it on his TD in the endzone? From his reaction then I thought he might have been hurt, and thought that's why he stayed down later later.... I haven't heard any news except the ACL comment here. Anyone know anything else?
  13. So, Willis scores twice and DB throws 3 TDs... I guess Lindell missed all of the extra points, huh? (5 x 6 = 30)
  14. While the heroism of Pat Tillman and others can be debated, it's a shame to take away the focus of a positive thread like this one singing Michael J. Fox's praise. He certainly is inspiring! I'd love to hear him speak some day.
  15. Bills 27 Dolphins 17 Bills get a TD from their D, Special Teams, or both. Dolphins get a TD at the end of the game. I'll guess DB sacked 3 times, fumbles once, and throws one INT, but "looks good all day." Bills get 5 sacks, one INT, and 2 fumble recoveries. Heck, let's go for the premonition glory: Troy Vincent gets the INT!
  16. Respectfully, I disagree. Price does make a difference, but there are some very good bargains out there. Just don't confuse an everyday bottle with something special. I've really gotten into wine the last few years and have tried many expensive bottles, and have also gone on a quest to find cheap ones I like. Our "house" wine (we bought a case of each recently) is Stump Jump (about $8-9 at World Market) which is a bit sweet, or Santa Christina - Sangiovese (pronounced san-jo-vay-say) which is much drier and tart. It's about $9 and might be at Harris Teeter. Another good cheap bottle is Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon, which you can usuall find at $8-10. I finst got into wine drinking Luna di Luna Merlot, but I'm not sure if the quality has gone way down, or if it's just that my tastebuds have gotten more discerning....
  17. I'd vote for Blade Runner, the original Alien, and Star Wars. They all did a great job of immersing you in their world.
  18. Just testing: TheblackBear, what do you think of volunteer firemen?
  19. No, Peters was cut in the first wave. I think you may be thinking of Sobieski (or Sape? ).
  20. They just said leg fracture, gone indefinitely!
  21. Neither he nor Travis have lost a fumble all year.... I was just thinking this weekend what a contrast that was to last year. Drew too is holding on ...better than last year.
  22. Kelsay did absolutely nail him in the middle of his back with the crown of his helmet just after he threw on one play. After they showed that on a replay I thought we might see a fine for Kelsay. Then again, maybe not because he doesn't have a reputation....
