  1. I don't think we heard anything like that. If that's true, it calls into question whether he should've shut down before the season and had preventive surgery.
  2. The defense was being pushed around with him on the field, too.
  3. Were you really able to tell from your seat what he was doing in the press box? If he would want something done like this, I can't see him doing it himself. That's what interns and security personnel are for. Maybe he was scanning the crowd for UDFAs.
  4. I hope you're right, but don't underestimate players' desire to win. Buffalo could have a really tough time attracting people. They're as bad as Arizona, and the city itself isn't much of a draw. How many players do you remember signing with Cincy? Sorgi did start for a year.
  5. Injuries. I agree the best way to build the Dline is the interior. Not only is that where our greatest need is, but a pass-rushing tackle can be more disruptive than an end. I think Indy is good evidence of this. A tackle makes the whole line better. An end might require a double team, but that's it. As for tackles, I'm going to watch Wright very closely in the Rose Bowl. He's much more athletic than Ngata, without weight concerns. And has anyone considered the possibility we could draft second? Right now, most people on this board think the highest we can get is 3rd. But SF has Houston and St. Louis - playing a clearly-overmatched rookie QB.
  6. Supposedly, Gerard Warren has started to play like a top-5 pick for Denver and is a free agent. He's one to watch. You're forgetting how hard it will be to attract players to Buffalo this offseason. We'll have the cap room to sign Bentley and Hutch, but will they come?
  7. The only reason I can think of is some collective drop in the contracts of CB's, such as last year, a bunch of CB's were in the last year of their contracts and were due a lot of money. I don't know for sure, but that's all I can think of. I think that they have to sign him long-term at some early point in the offseason, probably around April 1st. If they don't sign him before then, they have to wait to another date, I think July 15th, because if they sign him in between those dates, they lose the tag for the length of the contract. Not sure what the exact dates are, though. He's not that expensive. Say his cap number is 5.7. We save 5 from moulds alone, and a cople more from Big Mike and Sam each. And we're already 8 mil under. So after Clements, that still puts us about 10-12 mil under. And remember, it's not like free agents are going to be beating down the door to come to Buffalo.
  8. Clayton just said on Sports Center that the cap number for franchising corners will drop to $5.7 million next season from 8.8 this year. I supported keeping Clements before. I definitely do now, or at the very least franchise him.
  9. Have you read Easterbrook's pieces about the experts on yahoo always losing to the fans - the theory that the masses collectively know more than the experts?
  10. So, let me get this straight. You're suggesting that on 3rd and 1, you want the fans to choose between: 1. Fake a QB sneak then throw a lateral to the running back. 2. Pass to Shelton in the flat. 3. Call the 95 eligible. 4. The ole' Bledsoe Bootleg. 5. Let Roscoe throw it. Sorry, but I don't think fans are qualified to choose.
  11. I voted no. If we could get a mid-first for him, great, but flip it around, Mark VI. Would you give up a mid-first for him this off-season? I think the crowning achievement of the Donahoe era gets a mid-second at this point. I don't know about the Pats, but Wilfork was drafted after they were already good. The Jets got Ellis and Abraham in a draft where they had four #1s after trading Keyshawn to Tampa. That draft where they traded down with St. Louis was when they got Farrior. Also, when the Jets drafted Abraham, etc, they were already good coming off the Parcells years.
  12. Soneone help me with this - what's the difference between the info and the website and the ESPN Insider PFW whispers from around the league?
  13. If you heard him the radio, I'd take away his shoelaces.
  14. Not sure how serious to take this, but I think the odds of Willis not lasting to '07 with the Bills are good. He thinks he's worth a lot more than he is. The only i would change is I would use a second-rounder on a RB (maybe part of the pick package we coould get for him), and I think Bal is happy with Taylor.
  15. Oh, we've been blown out plenty of times by the Pats with Moulds on our roster.
  16. Didn't realize that. Why does he have such a bad NFL rap? And why did the Jets give him only one year? JoePa had been at Penn State for more than half a century, I think since he graduated from there. Back when he came an institution on campus, the NCAA was still bigger than the NFL. I can't think of anyone comparable to Weis - someone who has spent decades in the pros, has had incredible success, interviews fo head coaching jobs, and doesn't want one. I'd rather the Bills use every availabe dollar on him than any free agent. I'd even be willing to pay higher ticket prices for it.
  17. I think it's too late for that, seeing as Mularkey and Donahoe don't seem to have the authority to suspend Moulds on their own.
  18. Nobody on there should cost above the minimum besdies Clements. If we resign him, it shouldn't cost more than the cap space that will be opened by the cuts (Moulds, Big Mike, etc.). That shold leave us plently of room still. If only people wanted to come here...
  19. Except that's not what happened. Mularkey excused him from practice for two days, and there are rumors that he will be deactivated Sunday. it sounds like Mularkey wants to suspend Moulds but needs Ralph's permission first.
  20. I thought from the way you said "Moulds knew who the starting QB would be" you thought it was personal. Sorry if I misunderstood. I think you're playing it both ways - saying that the season is all about next year, which doesn't include Moulds, but then saying the team is paying him to play. Well, what is the team paying him for? Not to win, as you said, he's not part of that plan. So, I think the team basically has him there because cutting him today doesn't save any money, but they're not paying him to play. I think any situation in which it is made clear to a player that he's just riding out the end of the season, such as Adams, he has very little motivation to play. And when you say other teams will view him as a quitter, that may be better than being viewed as an over-30 receiver who doesn't catch any passes.
  21. You're accusing Moulds of not having faith in JP even before the season began?
